I'm going to say it: you got to check Phineas and Ferb's Santa. Not the one from the elevator gag, but from the Christmas special. This Claus was so touched by Phineas's gratitude towards him that he basically played 5 D chess with Danville! He literally orchestrated the entire episode days in advance to give EVERYONE what they wanted for Christmas and even secretly manipulated the events in order to help one of his older elves believe again. Seriously this man had such a big brain plays it was insane when you step back and think about it.

I thought Dr Doof’s Naughty-inator played a part in that…
@tamerzerounit34918 ай бұрын
Because Santa sent him the plans. Doof spent the entire episode apathetic to Christmas and wanted to hate it. He built the inator on a whim since his "uncle" mailed it to him. But at the end, when he could genuinely say he hates Christmas, he tries to call his uncle only to fine the address the inator was sent from was the North pole. So yeah Santa set it up on purpose. Heck Santa was even the one to destroy it.

Technically, the Miracle on 34th Street Santa's legitimacy is up in the air. While most of the movie does sort of depict Kris as just a kind old man wanting to embody the spirit of Christmas, there are a few moments in the movie where he legitimately seems to have more going one, the largest bit being at the very end where they find the exact house that Susan wanted within a close enough distance that it wouldn't be a bother and that it is for sale. And while this is initially hand waved away as coincidence, they also found Kris' cane there showing he may have had a hand in it. I'm just saying the movie ends on a nebulous conclusion on whether Kris was actually Santa, even as stated by the characters.

Is that the original or the 90s one? Cause the 90s one also seems to lean towards him actually being Santa, with stuff like being fluent in every language, including ASL, having an encyclopedic knowledge of all toys, where they can be bought, and the prices, and has a consistent, if insane, explanation for every Santa thing.
@Larper648 ай бұрын
@@originalindigodingo Both do actually, although the more modern one is less subtle about it. In the original, instead of ASL he breaks out into dutch when a dutch girl who had just emigrated after being adopted is brought to see him. He also seems to have a near encyclopedic knowledge of toys, stores, and prices. The main difference being that when he references gifts or the like he keeps it subtle, reather than explicit. Such as giving Mr. Daily and Ms. Walker a route to avoid trafficthat happens to go right pasr Susan's dream house.

St. Nicholas provided gold to the father of three young women allowing them to have dowrys for marriage, thus saving them from having to become sex workers. In this way, he became known for anonymous giving (as he gave the gold by pitching it through the window in the middle of the night) and the patron of prostitutes (word chosen for alliterative purposes). Thus, St Nicholas, who influenced the idea of Santa Claus giving gifts in the middle of the night anonymously, is indeed the saint of sex workers. So, that is the story of Santa and sex workers, my stupendous students.

50:16 To be fair, the Pete character was changed to remove the stereotype association over time. In the 50s to 60s the rod the character used to hit children as punishment was removed In the 50s to 80s the story was changed from "he's a black person from Moorish origin" to "he's black because he goes down the chimneys a lot". (the appearance was mostly unchanged still, but alas...). Parts of the story were also changed to make the character less of a servant and more of a competent employee supporting the aging and often forgetful Sinterklaas. Finally in the 2010s there were many attempt to change his appearance. From creating "petes" of all colours (Green Pete, Blue Pete etc.) to Stroopwaffle designs. They finally settled on the Pete character having swipes of "soot" on their face, rather than full on blackface (to be more accurate to the chimney story). Some people still refer to him as Black Pete, some use the name Roetveeg Piet (Sooty Pete) and some simply use "Pete". The "Roetveeg Piet" appearance is what is used in a majority of the country now.
