Who is the better Assistant? - Aethelflaed v Sanada

I use Sanada as assistant for a moment: his debuff on monster is very usefull. When his specialities is well developped, then his debuff is just great!

In my experience, the best combination for me for monsters are Martinus and Theo. I tried other assistants, like Sanada, John Bufford and Ceasar (I don't have Aathel, as I'm not really a coiner and I was focusing on getting generals for pvp), I get less wounded with Theo as assistant. I believe I have the same books as Aka's Sanada on my Theo. (just sharing for those who don't have Aethel either) But don't stop experimenting, to see which combination works best for you.

Try combining Aethel and Sanada. I have -15% monster debuff specialty on my Aethel and another -6% on Sanada.

My Roland with monster attack books does a better job as assistant on WB than Aethelflaed. Then I pack my sub cities with multiple copies of Sanada before I attack

I think it depends on how many alts you have. Most of the players I know that have just 1 or 2 have had no problems and are carrying on as usual Glad to hear you are good though ☺️ And don’t worry, I think you’ll get there before 2024 😉

I use Aethelflaed as my secondary general but I could switch her to primary and have Sanada back her up--if only because I haven't had the chance to put the wrong books on him yet. :) I made a bunch of noob mistakes in putting books on my earliest generals. lol

How effective is defense against bosses? I’ve heard many arguments that it’s worthless because your defense doesn’t get activated against bosses unless you are taking injuries? For my specific case, I’m deciding between defense against monster book and luck book for my main boss killer.

The honest truth is that defense is the least important stat for boss killers. Attack and HP are more important, but that’s not to say that Defense is useless. It’s not useless, just less effective 👌 As for the book choice for your boss killer, I always ALWAYS advise to have the Luck book and if possible, the dragon ring for added luck. 👍

Aethels real power lies in her ascensions. 5/5 are dedicated for monster hunting. Most military mounted only 3/5 red stars are useful for bosses. The same goes for Theo and Ceasar. But, it sure is a painfully slow process to get them red stars for these guys.

That's mostly true only if you go up to 4 or 5 red stars. Atk and march size are the most useful stats against monsters, which means any cavalry general with atk on their first red star (i.e. practically all of them) is better before Aethelflaed's 4th red star and any cavalry general with march size on the third red star (even Yue Fei for crying out loud) is a lot better.

Aka, I need some help or explanation. My Main general is Martinus with full specialities upgraded and I use Cesar as assistant with no speciality. Both level 36. I watched few videos about debuffing monsters and decided to try Sanada level 31 as assistant. I developed his 1st speciality and now have -9% against monster attack (our of runestones at the moment). I tried Martinus + Cesar and Martinus + Sanada against Bayar level 3 and got the same amount of wounds. And I`m a bit confused, I thought the dubuff should decrease the wounds or I did something wrong... Thanks in advance

Yes, it should. However, there are several other factors involved. It is likely that you might need more debuffs to see a significant change (more than 1 Sanada), or perhaps you need more troops in your attacking march. These are a couple of examples 😇 However, if you want to see in absolute terms which combination is better for you, you both pairs to attack either the world boss or the alliance boss. Compare the results you get to see which pair is better 😉👍

Why not John Buford? He has 30% as main skill and you can add the attack against monsters lvl 4 (not the previous ones), which gives you a total of 75%, more than Sanada (20 + 45 = 65%).

I see newer players in my alliance share generals and there always those guys that shoot it down and share a bunch of examples of premium generals. And I always ask three questions to bring a little order up in that MOFO. Question one for the person sharing Do you coin? Answer is almost always no. Question F2P are there better options (most of the time they have no damn clue, these are seasoned players. I mean how?) How easy can they get copies of their recommendation when they actually have one? I've gotten to the point where my advice is get the best F2P option you can and let your assistant be the luck of the draw. Too many people are sucked into the meta advice but don't think practical.

can you help me with this scenario, if I ascend Spartacus or Sanada to 3 stars this will give 10% double drop rate then attach the dragon ring, which will give 28% double drop rate. Then assist him with Cleopatra who gives 20% drop rate from main skill. will this in total gives 58% drop rate ? ofc not considering the luck skill book yet

Actually, that would be 68% 👍 But if you are using Cleopatra or Baibars, you will not be able to use the luck book

Hi AKA, I have a question that came to mind while I was watching this video: Subordinate city generals add buffs and debuffs to your stats, but if you were using monster generals, would they also add those buffs to your gear? If I had 5 Sanada Yukimura as mayor, would the 5% debuff work against a monster? Likewise, if I put generals like Roland, Hannibal, Caesar, etc... as mayors, would I get a more effective mounted marching troop against monsters? (5+5+5+5+5...and so on)

Hi 🙂👋 First, I want to correct a little misunderstanding you seem to have there. Technically speaking, sub generals will add debuffs to your stats, but not buffs. While the debuffs are applied for your entire army, the buffs from sub generals are only applied to the troops in the sub city that the general is in. So, the buffs will not apply to your main city troops. Only the debuffs will 👌 So to answer your questions: 1. The monster debuffs from generals like Sanada WILL apply if you put him in your sub. Also, if you have several Sanadas as mayors in your subs, the monster debuffs will stack up 👍. This means that you will have to include your subs when attacking monsters, and you can only do that when soloing. 2. If you put generals like Rolanad, Hannibal etc in your subs, their buffs WILL NOT apply 👌

I use Hannibal strictly for PvP. I have another general (Zhao Yun) that I use for bosses. On my Hannibal I have mounted attack, HP and march size books 👌 On my Zhao I have mounted HP, Monster mounted HP and Luck books 👌 The other books are on my assistants

That’s a complicated question. If you have sub generals with dragon gear (has monster debuff for sets) that will help. But having mixed troops or different level mounted troops may hurt you, so looks like you have to balance these two. There’s a KZbinr that is K35 and shows how he is able to kill big bosses but doesn’t go into full detail on troops in his subs, just that he has all subs with dragon gear. I keep finding that these small details are missed by most Evony KZbinrs.

You can still use mounted attack book, just not the one against monsters. Also, she’s great for double drops

Most good mounted generals can take BOTH mounted attack books, but she cannot take the huge 45% one. Her 55% plus the 25% book is far less than Hannibal's 35% plus the 45% and 25% books. Her dbl drop specialty is nice, but that works as either a main or assistant.

Theodora is great because she can take the luck book and monster attack book. But it's hard to get copies of her. I'm a die hard enemy server monster hunter. So Aethefled is my lead because -I never got Theodora -her luck special + luck book + bird of hurricane + the extra 15% + dragon ring is awesome. Almost every report is 2* or better. She is reason I got all the ach scrolls I need. This is another area She is better than sanada. -Sanada is a early game monster assistant. Reason I think evony gives him away in the relic. Also, having enough copies to put in all your subs gives you the ability to hit bigger monsters.

The main problem with Theodora is that she is only available on newer servers. My server and a lot of older servers do not have Theodora
