I have a theory on the Gold B/O Thomas The production code says "3220SK00", 3220 equals the 322nd day of 2010. Given that 2010 was the 65th anniversary of the Railway Series and Learning Curve was pumping out special items that year, this might have been a (late) 65th anniversary item that was cancelled for unknown reasons.

Who cares if the gold Thomas wasn't manufactured by learning curve ? If it looks good and works as it should then it's real enough. At the end of the day it's still a battery operated toy. The fact it's the fastest goes to show that third party people know how to improve a product.
