Talking about how important it is for Tom to win SMOE after winning WSM...it doesn't take anything away from his WSM win "unless" Thor wins...because Thor didn't compete in WSM for personal reasons. That being said, Liz mentioned how hard WSM is to win and mentioned Thor "only" won it once. There's should be an asterisk or side note with that comment...because Thor almost certainly would've won back to back and even threepeated if he chose to compete in 19 and 20. And IMHO, Brians SMOE show is going to take over as strongmans coveted show to win. The athletes respect him the most and he goes above and beyond to make the show athlete friendly. In Tennis, they have the 4 Grand Slam Events(Wimbledon, US Open, French Open, Aussie Open). Strongman seems to be going the same way.

@antoniocenteno14834 ай бұрын
The thing with Thor is that he is way too experienced when it comes to competition and deadlifts, he knows his three numbers and won´t changue them just because someone suddendly puts "505 Kg" as a way to push him. - He gonna open at around 420KG - He gonna push over 1k pounds and quite possibly win in his second attempt - If he is challengued, say someone puts another 1k deadlift, then he gonna go for the third attempt and break Jerry´srecord, or if he feels fresh to do it. Also, bare in mind he might break Jerrý s record on his second attempt, he might do that.
@Micheldied4 ай бұрын
Agreed. He isn't silly. He also has Ceb picking his attempts in what is basically a powerlifting meet (for just this event). That's something a lot of other competitors have no experience with. Tom, for example, has taken some really weird attempts at the Arnold (a bit different, but similar).

@@elvikingobarbaroja It seems like Tom really shows up for WSM. Having been watching Stoltmans content on youtube for some years now his energy is on a whole different level everytime when WSM is coming up compared to the other big comps, he is like a different man,.

Thor wins, but with strategy, I think he'll have to work for it.

MITCH HOOPA🤠 has a way of finding out others strengths and he comes in and beats you, Look how he beat Mateusz at his farmers walk, and thats Mateusz event, HOOPA might win the Deadlift.

Is suited Tom really at his best though ? He never pulled 1k or close to it. I feel like he can place top 4-6

I used to agree but there's been speculation on if the weight was legit. Konstantnovs pulled 939 in a full powerlifting meet at only 275 and he did it 100 percent raw(no belt)

I see thor first attempt around 1010 or 1020 just so he doesn't have to do a try a second or 3rd like bobby did

Halfthor might sack the first place if Ragg pulls 455 kilos, because if all others are beaten, then he might save that energy for another event and take some extra points there instead.

Ragg pulled 429 kilos (barely because i think he didn't acclimatize to Colorado's altitude), Thor 450 EASiLY
