Tom is physically stronger than Mitch but Hooper is an absolute brainiac. He studies and masters his technic, has an in depth understanding of nutrition and how it influences his training, his cardio is second to none and he is infinitely adaptable. Thor has amazing genetics and enormous experience. Tom's achievements cannot be overstated for a man that has overcome personal challenges to make it to the top of the sport. I look forward to Tom stepping it up with a new trainer that understands Tom mentally as well as physically.

@@mortgagetoday5679 If Tom is so strong, how come he currently only have 1 out 4 title wins? We all know Tom and Mitch will be super hungry for more titles.
@cisrael46818 күн бұрын
Thor won/placed high on a lot of moving events this year, and his time off included a run at boxing so I don’t think mobility is a big issue. IMO this year will come down to how much of his pressing he’s gotten back

Luke burned it all down so I don't know if we'll see him in comps any time soon. Tom is still may favorite competitor because I am also Autistic and it looks like he's making the best of it and having a good time with his new coach despite the turmoil. Luke might need some time back on the oil rig to really punctuate what he threw away.

Totally agree that Luke has damaged the Stoltman brand, I can only imagine how many cancelled sales they must have had for their merch. I don't want to see anything else from him.

It’s weird because normally I’d say unless you did something violent or illegal, personal matters shouldn’t affect show invites. With Luke however, I doubt he’d have been invited to certain shows (like Rogue) if it weren’t for his branding and reputation. If being liked by fans gets you invites, then maybe being hated should make you lose them

One type of kinda objective measure for such comparison just came to my mind: You add up the placings at international competitions for an athlete in the current year; whoever has lower number places higher on the list. Even more accurate if done with placings at individual events on international competitions. As a tiebreaker, the importance of the comps can be used.
@allylilith560517 күн бұрын
that system would put tom first if he only did WSM. It would need to be adapted a lot to reward, rather than punish people who do a lot of shows, but also not reward that much, that joining lower level international shows boosts the stats unreasonably
@ConnoisseurOfExistence17 күн бұрын
@allylilith5605 You're right, I made a mistake. We can add up the inverse of the placings for an athlete for each event at international comp. I mean the total number of athletes in that comp, minus the placing of the athlete in question on an event. And then we'll compare the athletes by the highest score and not the lowest.

SMOE still has a lot of bugs to work out. Like the squat. With that rig and the pre-determined foot placement, it's not a matter of who is strongest but who can best guesstimate where their feet will need to be when they've got 800lbs on their shoulders. Terrible event. The leg press is like that too. They need to eliminate the micromanagement and pre-determined nonsense for it to be the best test of strength out there.
