Who is the Chapter 2 killer? Danganronpa: Despair Time [Spoilers]

New theory: David and Arturo seem really suspicious. But I got an idea about the letter: if the killer just wanted to get rid of it, why didn't they just take it with them instead of ripping it and throwing it in the trash on the second floor. The water jugs I get. They are big and you'd want to avoid people seeing you with them. But you could easily and safely put the letter in your pocket and dispose of it in your own room. So I'm thinking there is a possibility the letter was never used to lure Arei. Instead it was just written and placed in the trash by the killer, hoping that the others would find it during the investigation. That way, you could manipulate the others into thinking the murder occurred during a certain time period.

Arturo and David are heavily involved in the murder but not the killers David is not it because Charles objected the fact David was the only one where the body was found😊

I'm thinking Hu because of one big thing. The Relaxation Room event. Hu said her nickname is Julia. Our little victim didn't have anything against J, and so would likely agree to have a meeting scheduled by a note signed "J". It was specifically pointed out that J and Hu went by the same name at some point, and after Chapter 1's special event directly contributing to the murder, I'm fixating on any information from these special events.

I'm presonally quite convinced that Eden is the murderer of this chapter. The murder technique looks like some sort of mechanism was used. Also the ball of the clothes... remember who was searching for the clothes before we found Ace and Nico? There's a surprisingly large amount of evidence against her. I believe she'd be the only person who could pull out something like that.

If that’s the case; why would Eden eliminate Arei? The only reason I could think of is the motive secret.

I have a theory that involves both Chapters 1 and 2. Remember those lines that appeared before the beggining of every chapter? Welp. If you don't remember, those are: Chapter 1: "Half-remembering is worse than forgetting." "Because of that, I lost something about the only two people I cared about." "Her name, his face, it's just bearly out of reach. I claw and grasp through the dusty haze of my memories." "Choking on my nostalgia, I keep begging for you to come back." It's very obvious that these lines are to refer to Min and Xander, after both of them died. The part where it mentions "Her name, HIS FACE, it's just bearly out of reach. I claw and grasp through the dusty haze of my memories.", we have to remember what happened on Chapter 1 Episode 6, when Teruko thought that Xander always reminded her of that girl because of his red hair and smile. There's no doubt that those lines that appear at the beginning of the chapter are Teruko's thoughts after each Class Trial. Well. Now with Chapter 2: "I still miss you." "I miss you so much that I wish you had never been a part of my life." "The worst part is, even though you left me like this, there's nothing I can blame you for." I don't think that Teruko is refering to Arei. I believe that it is for Arei's killer. There's a big possibility that Teruko will cry inside after the Killer's execution.

I think hu would actually make a pretty interesting killer for this chapter, especially because of the dynamic with arei she's had with her so far, she would have a motive to murder arei, though however I still personally hope Arturo is the killer of this chapter, I feel the character that will he affected the most this chapter is J, they already killed arei who J was starting to become closer to, the could more salt in the wound and have the person stalking her all chapter be the one to kill arei, plus they could probably give him a cool execution.

Good idea, I guess the killer might not have even been motivated by the reveal of the secrets. It could have been jealousy or a desire to protect Julia (if Arei was planning something).

I think that it's Hu or Eden. Teruko is the protag so it's most likely not hee. Ace and Nico are too focused on each other, same goes for Arturo and J. David is too obvious of a choice, but I do think that he had something to do with the murder. I feel like Rose wouldn't react like that if she was the murderer (however it might be an excuse to not draw, but that's very unlikely). Whit has little to not motive, he said it himself (he's is probably the dead mother one) and the same would go for Charles, Veronika would have probably done it in a more messed up way and I feel like Levi has a lot of development he needs to get (That's just my speculation though). Now, out of the two left I suspect Eden because she's had a lot of screen time this chapter, but that might be a red herring. And Hu has the thing with having the same name a J and her secret might be the murder one (but it could very easily be the poisoning competition one)

you make some points but when it comes to the two I feel Eden will be one of the main characters in the story as she is basically one of the few people that oppose Terukos ways the other being opposed to it is Charles also Hu has been getting more screen time as much as the other sus people David Nico and Ace but not as much I also don't recall Eden ever going to the relaxation room as I looked only four or five people went there before the Arei search besides Teruko three of them being the sus people David Nico and Hu

@@lilsmurfy8349 Yeah, you have a point. That's why I suspect Hu slightly more. Hu doesn't really strike me as a character who will be that important to the story compared to the rest of the class, especially Eden. However I have to say the Eden is also suspicious for having an off screen conversation with Arei, that she told Teruko about in the changing room and we know that there's something important with the clothes. So yeah, both are still on my suspect list, but Hu is way more suspish in my opinion.

12 days late I believe two things will happen If Hu is involved in some way 1. She will be the manipulator, but she wasn't the one who killed Arei. 2. Or she did.

I think David was involved with the murder in some way, I personally think that he manipulated someone to kill arei, which then leads into my main leads, which is Eden, and Hu, although it depends on the secrets for that one

With the secrets the not eating one could be ace he has say he didn't like lots of food and one of the dead family members could be levi he has said he been disowned but that could be a lie cover up that he lost his family

I always wonder about the secrets, how are we suppose to know if someone lied about their secret? How exactly are the characters supposed to know what secret of theirs someone else has? After all, they could have multiple secrets, and based off Charles’ reaction to his secret, he didn’t know anything about it, for all he knew he thought the secret wouldn’t be that bad. With that said, how exactly can we say if David is lying or not, I mean sure the secret is on the board, but how exactly can we say that the secret he told was a fake secret. People can have more than one secret more likely, and it didn’t seem like any of the characters knew their secret unless the asked the person who had their secret what their secret was. Unless told or revealed, the cast would be in the dark about their secrets and exactly what secret was in the envelope and would only know their secret once it was revealed or told to them.

Yes, I thought so as well. The "secrets" are not really secrets, rather than a significant piece of information about the person. Charles is a perfect example since he didn't even know about his. And as I mentioned in the video, I do think they are framed in the worst possible way so as to sow distrust and paranoia within the group.

Something I want to add is that Nico says they don't know what time they fed the minnows last night because they don't look at the clock every time they do something, but the interesting thing about that is that the minnows had to be fed on a strict schedule because of the relaxation room being off limits at night time, so they should be looking at the clock

What I got from the note in the trashcan: From top left scraps to bottom right: - sister. I didn't mean (to) ... I wouldn't but it ... -Arei, (someone) found my... responsible - something with a d, maybe death because of the sister's death - I'm scared. I ... to me. ... please meet me -either night, might or right -aid -at 7:30 - Sor(ry?)... Tha(t?)... of b... -friend ... than ever... - in playground - I need So my brain made this message out of it: *Arei* *Someone found my secret and I'm scared.* *I killed my sister. I didn't mean to but I'm responsible for it.* It also says something about them trying to talk to the secret-holder but they wouldn't listen *Sorry for the short notice but please meet met at **7:30* (my guess is PM because AM would be reeeeaallly close) *in the playground.* *That might sound dumb but I really need a friend.* *I need your help now more than ever.* I obviously didn't include every word and some of it sounds like complete nonsense but that's what I have so far. Interesting is that EDEN got the secret with "My sister killed herself because of me" and this could be important here. The handwriting, which was very pretty and in kursive could also hint towards a very well-mannered and organized person. It also looks like some sort of mechanism was used to kill her or at least hang her (if she died before being hanged). The killer probably tied the rope to the merry-go-round to get the body up there as it could be easier to lift that way. My prime suspects are: David, Eden and Hu but I guess Hu because David seems like the manipulative of this game and Eden will play an important role in Terukos character development. David could have lured Arei into the playground because she trusted him and the killer then struck and killed her.

I Wasn’t Too Certain As To If This Rule Applied In The DRDT Universe, But Would The Culprit Be Able To Set-Off The BDA Announcement? If They Can’t, Then Doesn’t That Clear Eden And Whitt For This Kill Due To The Fact That They We’re With Teruko Once The BDA Was Triggered? I Feel That Eden Has Some Level Of Involvement In This Kill, But I Don’t Think That They Are The Blackened.

the culprit cant set off the bda but that doesn't necessarily clear eden or whit. someone BESIDES the killer may have seen the body earlier than them and just never said anything. i have a high suspicion that david was involved but isn't the killer.

With the new episode, the suspects are Ace Levi David Nico And rose Alibies: Eden + Hu J + Arturo Whit + Charles Veronica + Teruko David has gone nagito mode so I doubt it Ace gave a testimony against david which was confirmed to be true Rose seems too important and has an unfinished arc Hu however could be covering for Eden, but that’s unlikely Ace also has an unfinished arc So Levi is most suspicious atm The secrets are Xander: is responsible for the game Arei: fucked over her sisters Charles: has a ded older brother David: a manipulator Eden: afraid of their sexuality Nico: is non-binary Arturo: sister killed herself Rose: put her family in debt Whit: his mother is ded Ace: refused to eat J: julia Rosales I suspect the rest are Veronica: hurts herself Teruko: your a murderer Min: poisoned the competition Levi: your family died Hu: you were quite the hopeless child (tried to khs many times) I believe that is hu’s as she said ‘it’s the only thing I can do To be helpful’ Levi has mentioned his family quite a lot Veronica likes watching gore and people getting hurt Teruko would be interesting to see that and also POE Min is the only one left with any kind of competitive talent

I think David lied about having Xander's secret. When they were going around in a circle, he asked to go last just to make sure no one else would mention Xander. He's probably waiting for a good time to reveal Teruko's secret in order to make everyone wary of her instead of him.

I think it could be Eden or Ace. It could be Ace because he wanted to get back at Nico. Let's say it's him for the sake of my argument. He didn't care who he killed, he just wanted to pin it on Nico for revenge. He'd hope they'd pin it on them.

Ehh that’s pretty far for a revenge plot. Ace so far has been ‘all bark, no bite’ so I doubt he’d go this far, especially when this could lead him to getting caught and dying a likely more painful end

Aoi didn't kill anyone though. And he'd somehow have to be smart enough to make a mechanism like that in his poor condition. There's nothing else pointing to Nico but the fish, but we don't even know why they're there in the first place

I feel Hu did the kill but I also think her secret is actually the manipulating one based on her actions in this chapter she acts like the mature and motherly one which can be seen when she was defending Nico twice she has also been at the relaxation room along with Nico and David which makes Ace less sus than the other three but also making Nico and David more sus than Hu but as you said David could be a red herring which I say the same with Nico also Babying someone after an attempt murder is what I feel a sign of her being manipulative and also if you look at everyone that went to the relaxation room before they went searching for Arei were David Nico Hu Teruko and I think that's it, I know Charles J Witt Ace Eden Rose Levi Auroto and Veronika didn't go in there before the Arei search

I think it’s Arturo to be completely honest with you, but I can see it being Hu as well. I think Eden’s involved, but it feels too early for her to go. I also think Levi is a bit suspicious.
