He's keeping track of a lot, it's human error to forget small things. I love this game, but there's a lot of moving parts to keep in mind, on top of the fact you essentially have to be 'mind-playing' the other players, as to their motivations and actions.

Yep, he mistook 'positive count' on the cards as being 'I won't get sent to the brig', when the proposal was to put him in the brig. Didn't quite catch that he needed to put 'negative count' cards in to fail the proposal.

Beware this game, I'm still bitter about the time I called both out cylons by round 2 but ended up getting thrown in the brig. :P That said I was playing Starbuck and apparently no one listens to her in the show either so maybe it tracks.

Probably the best game I own and the best I've ever played. There are so many moments that have happened in our games that we still talk about 10 years later. Some advice for Cylons who want to reveal: if someone gives you an Executive Order, don't blow your reveal on the first action. Do something harmful to the humans for the first action then reveal. Also, it's best to do it when your turn is coming up rather than just having passed. You want to make sure your first full Cylon turn is close by to really hit them hard before they can regroup from your betrayal.

I remember watching TB, Jesse Cox, Crendor and possibly Dodger play this years ago. Jesse was the Cylon, and did nothing, still won the game. His game plan is just to let all the good guys self destruct. Though i'm still not sure how Crendor locked himself in the jail.....

Played this game for the first time last night with my group. With 6 players (all newbs) it took 2 hours for 3 turns each!!!!! So obviously we have arranged to play it properly tomorrow night!!!

Wonderful to see you playing BSG again! Some notes on rules in case you're interested: - Pilots can spend an Action to activate their Viper (to move or attack), but cannot convert their Movement step move to an action (unless they have Critical Situation, but you weren't playing with any expansions) (Rulebook, p. 26). - In a Skill Check activated by an XO'd player the first player to play their cards is the one to the left of the current player (who played the XO), not left of the XO'd player (p. 16, also Corey Konieczka himself via BGG BSG FAQ). - Destiny Cards are added first to a Skill Check (so with vanilla Investigative Committee everyone can see them before playing their cards) (p. 16). Still, the way you played it was effectively Pegasus ICs which are better anyway (although kind of assume you also have Guts and Initiative available).

The game is supposed to be uncertain. If you say to someone "I put in 2 or 3 of this colour" then your not playing properly, you should say 'I put in cards' or 'I helped'.

Really felt the pain with Ben when he accidentally threw a -4 at that crisis. I would have admitted it and apologized though. Just remind them that he at first counted the launch scout as good, he made a mistake by thinking purples were positive. They can be suss all they want but if he owned up to it quickly with remorse and volunteered to go to the brig it would be hard to actually justify suspicion.

In regards to the bomb threat card, taking the dice roll option to me reads more like: Terrorist/Cylon: "There is a bomb!" Bon: "I'm calling your bluff, there's no bomb!" Random NPC: "Uh... no? There's absolutely a bomb there." Bon: "~What do you mean there's a bomb??~"

Some rules you guys got wrong: pilots who are flying vipers can not use their movement to activate their viper, only their action. Their movement can only be used to move the viper. Also in a skill check, destiny cards are always put in first. This is important when they are played openly due to a politics card. Lastly an XO does not allow a cylon player to reveal themselves AND perform an action as cylon, because the moment they are revealed, they become unaffected by skill cards, including that XO.

Immediately after Daltos revealed he was a Cylon, I had the thought "Duncan usually likes to play the long-con and betray at the last second". That said, even after the last Cylon was revealed, I am still surprised it wasn't Lewis. Calls Duncan and everyone but Daltos out for acting suspicious wanting to waste cards on a second vote, ignoring the fact that the only reason there needed to be a vote is Daltos and Lewis were the only one's wanting the change.

I am 5 for 5 in games where the humans had 0% chance for victory. In the best game I ever played, we got within sight of earth, and then the two Cylons revealed themselves and hit us with two Super Crises on top of each other and we failed horribly. In the rest of the games, we failed so hard, the cylon/s were bored as they needed to do nothing and won anyway. I have been told that 4 of the games I've played are in the bottom 10% of games in general, and the best one is still in the bottom 30%, but I musty admit I've lost all faith in this game.
