This is not a new video from me. I am uploading this now mainly for posterity. I do NOT have plans to make any more "Who are They?!" episodes. I appreciate it, though, if you enjoyed any videos in this series at any point now or in the past. The Dragonborn, specifically the one we play as in TES V: Skyrim, is a "Prisoner," a living tear in reality who is simultaneously every race and every gender, embodying every possibility and walking all possibly paths simultaneously. In other words, they are literally anyone and anything at once. Our Dragonborn is simultaneously a Nord Warrior, an Elven Sorcerer, an Argonian Healer, a Khajiit Assassin, a Breton Noble, an Orc Barbarian, an Imperial Spy, etc. Literally every possible path and choice is canon because each game take place during a "Dragon Break," a literal fragmentation of the timeline where countless possibilities occur simultaneously before eventually reconverging back into a single timeline.

From what I can piece together, not only are you a nord, but you also weren't originally from Skyrim. You were on your way probably either from or passing Cyrodil, since the game starts in the road north of there where you're ambushed by the imperials, same as the Stormcloaks...and that thief over there! I think that because Aela the huntress calls you an outsider because you don't know what a shield brother/sister is. And you can't blame her for suggesting that since most nords know about them considering they're the oldest faction in Skyrim. Plus, it would explain how you got to the border. As for the why? I dunno. Those are just my theories. Plus, it's pretty convenient you happen to be passing through the same place that Tiber Septim that goes into a Lu Kang animality form came from, and the lore does explain you don't have to be from a specific bloodline.

True, except the ambush that Ulfric is captured at is mentioned to have happened near Darkwater Crossing which is all the way in eastmarch and not that close to Cyrodiil. Does it say that the Dragonborn was captured with them or captured after them? I can’t remember If the legion captured Ulfric at darkwater crossing, and then travelled back into imperial territory at Helgen in order to carry out his execution, maybe the Dragonborn ran into them on the road? And they just assumed they were a stormcloak soldier? The Dragonborn would also presumably have been injured or delirious or something otherwise why would they be sleeping in the middle of the day when being thrown around in a horse drawn carriage by the time the game starts. You must also have already been wearing rags because why isn’t Ulfric or any of the other stormcloaks in rags? Clearly you were already in rags by the time the empire took you prisoner.

This was originally intended by me to be a Christmas 2015 special, but I believe I had missed the deadline similar to how I had also missed the deadline for a Halloween release of the Plague Knight episode of this series. If it wasn't obvious by the previous statement, the Plague Knight episode was intended to be a Halloween 2015 special. This video being originally intended to be a Christmas special is evidenced by the Christmas lights I included in the thumbnail and the month in which I started working on this video. My memory regarding the aforementioned situation is that I intended for the Dragonborn Who are They?! episode to be a Christmas special as Skyrim is seemingly predominantly based around/in a snowy atmosphere.
