@Depressed Devan Key chara seems only to exist to ensure there are consequences to your actions, and knowing they can't sever you connection to the world, they erase it, so that you can't use the monsters as toys. And when you get the world back, chara makes sure you can never get a good ending afterwards. They may only slightly be worse than sans. Chara didn't force the player to do anything. And when they harmed everyone. Made sure they couldn't escape the consequences.

Toriel just wanted you to be safe from asgore. Papyrus just wanted to impress undyne Undyne saw you as a threat and tried to eliminate you Mettaton only wanted to serve for entertainment Asgore only wanted your soul in order to destroy the barrier Flowey was incapable of feeling...feelings. Undyne the Undying knows that you will destroy the underground, and tried to fight you with all her might. Mettaton NEO knew he had no chance against you, and only tries to delay the destruction, hoping that the monsters could evacuate. Sans knew you won't just destroy the underground, but the entire dimension, so he exploited all the rules of an RPG, and wanted to make you feel the pain of the other monsters, by exploiting the game mechanics and killing you over and over, hoping that you will rage-quit. Chara only wanted to teach you a lesson for following the path of genocide. and you... You just wanted to complete the game.

If intent doesn't excuse actions technically alphys is more evil than asgore, seeing as they condemned many more monsters than humans asgore killed to a life of pain. Granted, they do get freed but nothing good comes of the experiments, while asgore's killing of humans is what saved the monsters.

SOMEONE ELSE: actually, i think it would make more sense if papyrus had a 1. yes, he DOES attack you, but in truth, all he REALLY wants is to be everyones friend. in the pacifist or neutral(if you spare him) route, he will actually LIE to undyne because he does not want her to kill you. undyne is NOT the kind of monster to forgive that when it comes to a HUMAN at that point in undertale, so if she actually FOUND OUT, papyrus would LOSE a friend, and undyne would PROBABLY stop training him. we all know that papyrus would HATE to lose a friend, so the fact that he did that is actually really nice. in the genocide route, he is the ONLY character who actually still believes you can be a good person, NO OTHER CHARACTER believes in you. so it would make sense to give him a 1.

Even though we aren’t really a character, the player is still the most evil person in Undertale. We (most people) RESET so many times and kill them all without much remorse (at least for me). We controlled Frisk, probably without them wanting us to, and used them to kill everyone over and over, and then once we got a “happy ending” we RESET and took it all away. Even Flowey didn’t want to RESET that. We truly are the most evil one in Undertale.

I sort of recall a secret ending to the game where you die in the ruins by staying there with Torial. From what I recall all you have to do is keep going to bed and eventually the game goes to a end card talking about how you lost your determination. I would say her negative karma should be a bit higher considering she kidnaps you and forces you to fight her, even if you have already displayed a pacifist mentality.

Actually, you could still be a jerk on a pacifist route, so possibly 1-6 (maybe 7) based on scale. His scale wasn't really well-thought out as "little bit of a jerk" scores 6 and Undyne who is rude to you (unless you befriend her eventually), tries to kill a child completely unprovoked on pacifist route even if for "greater good" and Asgore who is far nicer than Undyne and was conflicted about killing the same gets score 7. Granted he might have killed more than Undyne, , we don't know. In addition he also gave an order to kill 7 humans but Undyne was very eager to do so. So Undyne actions go well beyond "little bit of a jerk".

To be honest, I would've taken a point or two off of Asgore's score and had him at about *5*. He's not really what I'd call a bad person-- more a good person who was forced into doing the things he did in moments of weakness (IE. rage and cowardice), and you can definitely tell that he really, _really_ does not want to go through with it and immensely regrets what he's doing, but feels he has to for the sake of his people. Plus, considering the equipment of the other fallen humans was found at various different points across the Underground instead of just at New Home like their SOULs were, it's not even certain whether Asgore did kill them himself. Likewise, I don't really see what was stopping Toriel from enacting her _"kill one human, cross barrier, kill six random humans on other side, then break barrier"_ plan herself if she was that adamant that Asgore was a terrible person because he wouldn't do it. You could justify that with her Pacifism, but the way I see it, it just makes her a bit of a hypocrite-- particularly with her acting as if she was the only one affected by the deaths of both their own children and the six other humans that fell down, and selfishly abandoning her people when they needed her the most. I'd have given her a 3 or 4.

+Generic Username I dont think so. Undyne never knew humans could be nice, and she obviously cared for Frisk once they became friends in the pacifist run. And Undyne clearly is a 1 in the genocide run. She fights you, even tho she knows that youll defeat her at some point. But she doesnt give up, and even comes back from the dead to stop you. She sacrifices herself in order to slow you down so Alphys can evacuate the Underground. I cant think of anything more heroic. She's a bit harsh, but clearly a good person.

I agree, it does kind of make her a hypocrite, but, just like Asgore, she was forced in this situation. She recently lost both of her children and now her (usually soft) husband starts killing other children. She was confused, and ran away. Both of them are great persons that were forced in a situation they both didnt want. I just feel sorry for both of them. Nobody deserves to lose their children in such a terrible way. Perhaps, and you do raise some valid points. The thing is though, the reason I gave Toriel a score as high as that is mostly down to not only her being a hypocrite (especially with the whole _"If Asgore is so terrible for not using one soul to cross over the Barrier, kill six random humans and use those to break the Barrier, why doesn't she do it herself"_ thing), but also down to her not nearly being as good as people say she is when you actually look a bit deeper into certain things. I mean, sure, she's nice enough, but not exactly the paragon of virtue everyone says she is- especially when you consider she acted the whole time like Asgore was gleefully slaughtering children (when a, it's not even certain if he did kill them himself, and b, he's evidently heartbroken by it regardless) that again, she was the only one who was suffering as a result of their deaths, and as someone else mentioned, how eerily OK she is in most of the endings where she lives (except True Pacifist, where she has more time to think about it) with her ex-husband being murdered by either Frisk or Flowey. Likewise, Toriel wasn't confused when she abdicated from the throne, she knew full well what she was doing and abandoned her people when they needed her the most on the basis of her own beliefs. And it doesn't change the fact that she could've easily acted out her own plan to break the Barrier more quickly, but she didn't, and basically left to hide in the Ruins, wallow in her own self-pity and to avoid having to take firm-but-unpleasant action that would ultimately benefit the kingdom in the long run. Basically, the exact same thing she's accusing Asgore of, so he's really not the only one to blame for it, as she tries to make out. That, and the fact she tried to hold the children who fell down in the Ruins in there forever regardless of their will, even going as far as considering destroying the exit to stop Frisk leaving after the other six left and died before they directly intervened. It's not as bad as say, declaring war on humanity (Asgore) or trying to rip someone's soul out of their still-living body (Undyne), but it's still essentially kidnapping. But yeah, don't think me saying all this means I don't like Toriel. She's a very good character, but one thing that does annoy me is when she's held up on a pedestal as this perfect, saintly individual whilst Asgore is seen as this brutal ghoul who gleefully murders children despite him not actually being that bad at all.

I think that during the netural runs, sans doesn't attack you even if you kill monsters, because he knows about the reset. But during genocide, he could sense that the human wouldn't reset, and would go on to delete the world. So I guess sans not attacking the player during netural was because he knew that the human would reset.

Personally I think that Papyrus is the nicer than Toriel. And with the throwing bones in your face situation, Toriel throws fireballs at you. You might say "Oh she was doing that to protect you" well she shows no remorse when you get hit (neither does any character) also Papyrus doesnt want to kill you, he wants to capture you. Toriel wants you to stay with her. And if she wanted to keep you safe she could have gone with you into the underground. Also, Papyrus just needs to practise making spaghetti more. Also Toriel seems to replace each child with another every time a new human child ends up in the underground.

Papyrus is an adult who told a child to eat mushrooms, then he led that child through deadly, unfair traps he created that would have made Jigsaw proud, beat the child in order to become a guard (not because Alphys told him to like everyone else), and spent the rest of the game being an unhelpful sarcastic tool. And don't give me that "Papyrus doesn't know any better" bullshit. He reads complex books, is an expert at controlling his magic (even more so than Toriel), and has an extensive vocabulary that a scientist would use (uses words like "infallible" and "esteemed"). I'm 26 and I still don't have a job, so we can't just assume he's eighteen, all we know for sure is that he's younger than Sans. He also doesn't have a job as of yet, he's still training to get one as a royal guard. And even if he IS trying to be legitimately helpful, that doesn't imply that Frisk isn't asking for help...it's actually the opposite, especially since the "info" Papyrus gives usually revolves around the room Frisk is in. So shes more guilty than it seems, right? and for those that say Alphys doesnt have any control over the puzzles, isnt it weird she can actually turn off the lazers and is the only one with a Control room with pc to do things like switching on and off the puzzles? yeahh, i think shes more guily than shown in this vid.
