Gatekeeping is so stupid in this game. I had literally the worst groups in Ivory Tower hm. It's the most gatekept content but most lobbies are part of a premade group where some dude wants to funnel his girlfriend and they only accept 1630+ lvl40 elixir but can't play themselves.

so....just remember all previos videos about "why no one play ..." and just do not play this class. also i do not understand about HUNGER reaper. BEFORE buff and AFTER buff. Cuz engraving pretty easy. Reaper get Armor and HP scaling buff....2 years ago probably. This engraving have realy low CD and actualy....all panel + X skills with jumps.have counter attack from BACK.Reaper even before Stagger buff...can stagger Clown SOLO (with out some thing special).And even BEFORE damage buff was pretty solid and BETTER than Lunar all 2 last years. Also reaper Hunger pretty easy to play. green,Red1,red2, green,red3,red4. thats all. even Zerker or aeromancer have harder rotation and harder to play. so....arcana not so mobile near reaper at all,but have same scalings in armor and HP as reaper or gunslinger. So they Die more often (less mobility) and MUCH harder to play. So...again ....what reason to put arcana or gunslinger above Hunger reaper?its NO any real reason . its...realy bad tier list. even for fun.

i've played a 3 gt destro roster for a long time (recently pivoted a bit and dropped one due to boredom) and apart from when Legalia said they were trash & for mentally handicapped players, I've never had an issue w/ gatekeeping lol I've been katekept harder on my bards than I ever have on my destros

Good tier list haha! My experience with the game makes mine slightly different -- so bit of a backstory, a little fun thing me and my friends this since we started playing, is that if we ever get jailed, we take the character info responsible for the jail and put it into a community google doc. Since launch, we have a statistic where 42% of our blacklist is made up of Deathblades, Sorcs, and Pallys, so all those classes are in RIP BOZO tier for us, cuz we can't handle the ptsd we got from those ppl 🤣

Been playing Reflux alt since vykass. I never got gatekept or swiped on her. I think ppl take reflux because they counter and almost never die. But the fact that she has 6% damage synergy, she is a poor choice compared to the new 6% gigachads. Igniter on the other hand, doesn't counter and noobs die and miss on her all the time.

My general mentality with gatekeeping is always, ease of play, mech-doing ability. If they have ok gems, high roster level, LoS30, easy to play class, etc. I will take them simply for that reason. For example, LC isn't nearly as strong as DS sharpy, but I won't gatekeep them because sharpy is generally so easy to play, it's really hard to play them badly. Another aspect is content you're trying to clear. You see way worse players in general doing the older content than the newer ones. In all honesty, at normal brel ranges, you see some pretty horrendous players regardless of the class. I really like these types of tier lists. Better than the run of the mill tier lists we find other content creators

As someone who creates and leads almost all of these lobbies (95-99% of the time). I have a question for all the sorc players who will read this comment: What the hell happened to you? Let me explain, I've been playing since the Western release. From Argos to the release of Brel NM, I automatically took sorc in my groups. Why was that? Because they had insane damage, knew how to play their classes and raid mechanics, and rarely died. Between the release of Brel HM and 3/4 months ago, I no longer automatically took them, as they were less efficient and made as many mistakes as any other class. But for the last few months, 90% of the sorcs I took, died, never appeared in the mvp screen, insulted other players, and wyped the lobby on mechs. It lasted a few weeks (2 or 3), before I had to take the decision to automatically gatekeep them, without even bothering to open their profiles. So it's a real question, ladies and gentlemen of the sorcs enjoyer, what happened to you? Edit: since all this time I've been regularly letting sorceresses have chances, and the result is always the same (another one today in Akkan HM that I have to kick from my lobby, she was dead at g1-g2 and g3 at x140, then start to trashtalk a player in my grp who was doing well). I'm really trying to give you a chance, but you're not giving it your best.

I am a sorc main but also a new~ish player who started last March (closing to a year now). I do agree with the fact that most sorcs are bad right now. The reason you never see them in MVP is because it is quite hard to be an MVP as a sorc from my exp (I am 1620, full level 9 gems, with 2 lvl 10s on my doomsday, and los30). Many of the problems of sorc comes from the actual class. 1) You do absolutely no dmg outside of igniter (the dmg difference between the 20s of igniter vs no igniter is like 95% igniter, 5% outside igniter), so if your sorc player isn't igniter 2-3 times per min, they're missing a lot of skills and doing no dmg. 2) Their performance is heavily affected by the boss's movement (for example Kay is the worst). You need about 20-30s to build igniter, and if you miss ONE METER SKILL, that's 10s delay on your igniter (your doomsday will be off cooldown for 10s before you can burst), and if the skill you missed is Frost's Call (highest meter gen skill), that's a 20s delay to your igniter, essentially if you missed 2-3 meter gain skills you missed an entire potential igniter dps rotation because your doomsday will be off cooldown the entire time (30s, which is the cooldown of doomsday). 3) Then we have that backloaded 2nd doomsday, which with level 10 cooldown gem, you have about 2-3s to cast it. If you are late, it hits without the igniter buff (aka, no dmg). If the boss is in the middle of an attack, you have to gamble throwing the 2nd doomsday somewhere and hope it hits, or cast it late and not get the igniter buff (which is as I mentioned before, 0 dmg outside of igniter) and this backloaded 2nd doomsday, makes up about 20% of the dmg of your entire igniter rotation dps. 4) Utility, do it need to be mentioned? Our big dps skills that take 3s to cast, and few more secs travel time. They are our highest stagger and destruction skills, you don't have time to cast them on demand for stagger check or destruction checks. (There is a new reverse gravity build with a counter that deals with those issues to some extent, but it is at the cost of a dps loss). To summarize: it's very punishing to miss ANY skill, either it is meter gain or dps skill, you will be either delaying your burst by 10-20s for each meter gain skill, or straight up losing 20% of your dps from your 2nd doomsday. You also have to memorize every single normal attack pattern from the boss (how he moves, where he lands when he is done with the attack, etc. Just in case that pattern is the one the boss is doing when you are FORCED to cast that 2nd doomsday). With that being said, if you want to MVP in a raid as a sorc, you have to full memorize every attack pattern so you never miss a single skill. Even then, we are competing with classes that are more fitting to the current raids (for example slayer and soul eater). Slayer, especially predator, it is so easy to do damage on them, a sorc will never beat you. Even if the slayer is a bad player, and the sorc is a really good player, if that sorc doesn't play the best raid in his life, he is 100% losing to the slayer. In a homework raid, why should I stress out about missing any of my skills when I am compete with such classes? Same thing with soul eater (they are similar to igniter, but they have utility, they have dmg outside the burst window, and no cast time, plus, they do more dmg with their skills lol). This just speaks about the problems of the class. If the player is also bad (e.g. a new player who doesn't know the attack patterns, or a player who is having a bad, etc...), well.... Lastly, I want to talk about Kay, this is by far the worst raid for sorcs, the bosses stop moving for a very short period of time (not enough to cast your dps skills), and the next attack pattern is most likely going to be one that moves the boss and you will miss. So most of the time we end up casting and praying that they don't move... As for Akkan, the bosses don't move as much, so Akkan is a really good raid for sorcs.

The absolutle truth? Nothing. We were strong then, we're still strong now. Sorc was overhyped, which led to everyone and their moms building them. People watched saint and lustboy and believed that sorcs were OP. But they're harder than people think they are, so there was just a large number of bad bandwagoning sorcs. Then streamers got ahold of this narritive that "sorcs are zdps" when most of it is BS. They bring good stagger, above average destruction, above average damage. I am competing for damage underline every gate. There isn't a class where I can say I don't have a chance against. Every class has their good and bad players, but with the narritive that streamers push it creates confirmation bias in players.

First of all, thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed answer. I find that your first two points are not defaults but simply the playstyle of all classes centered around an identity gauge to be charged, and which represents almost all of their dps. You take the Predator Slayers below as an example, and as a main Slayer who plays both engravings, I can assure you that it's the same thing when I play Punisher. But I really understand your third point. When I have to place my second guillotine, the timing is so tight that it becomes rng dependent. In my case, it's no big deal because it's a secondary damage spell. But in your case, what a hell. Thanks for explaining where the igniter witches' damage worries may come from. However, I'm still confused by the mediocre "level" in raids, and the average toxicity of sorcs. And from personal experience, it increases with time. Maybe it's because you're tired of playing the class (I'm not talking about you, but about sorc in general)? I can feel it in your sentence: "In a homework raid, why should I stress out about missing any of my skills". That's the thing. The 2nd point about missing meter gain skills is really bad, much worst than what people think. It is worst than other classes, I play both punisher slayer and full moon harvester soul eater, you simply get punished a lot more as a sorc. Basically for every skill you miss in the fight, you lose a lot of dps. In the case of meter gain skills, that's a 10s dps loss, and in terms of a dps skill during the burst window, it's like 20% of your entire burst dmg (or like 5-10% if its not one of the big 3 skills). Over a long fight, this just keeps getting worst since you will miss more the longer the fight goes. Hitting the majority of your spells consistently is what differentiate a trash sorc vs a top tier sorc. How many people do you know that will miss less than 10 spells in say Akkan during the fight? That will be a 3 rotations worth of dps loss or a full 1min dps loss, that's just to put it in perspective. Btw, I don't think I answered your original question about why sorc players are toxic. I don't really have an answer, but if I have to guess, we get gatekept like crazy. The moment we apply, we more often get straight up rejected within 3s, not even checking our gear, just to see some other lower item level and less geared person get accepted few mins later into the party. Once you get rejected this much, and when you finally get into the party, and people start blaming... I would even get toxic at that point... ​@narugadr

I would take a pistoleer over a GS. GS has a lower floor while being the harder to play of the two. Both are low stagger and good destruction. Both have crit synergy. I might be biased though as most GS I run into die too often. Might just be the crux of trying to play the class well but thats me giving them the benefit of the doubt and DE are just as squishy so who knows.

Man Gunslinger at this point should be in Ripbozo. 1. Some of the lowest DPS in the game currently, it's only playable if you're going phase to phase in homework content to take advantage of her front loaded damage pattern. 2. Reaper levels of defence with high animation locks, probably the most floor POV class. They take ridiculous amounts of damage when I play support. 3. Low stagger contribution unless they waste three runes to make it semi passable (on a class that needs C&J and multiple GW.) 4. Theoretically amazing destruction but can't unload it fast enough to carry destruction checks. 5. Requires very high investment (7 damage gem class, and also requires at least 4 high CD gems.) The only thing it has going for it is the critical synergy, which is available from so many other sources. When you compare Reaper to GS, it has more damage, same defence with no animation lock, good stagger, decent destruction and is less gem dependent.

They have more stagger, less animation lock for counter window, and when the content is hard and people keep getting punished, Reflux will shine with it's mobility and un-punishable nature. If igniter is skilled, will always do more damage. Reflux does well in pugs where skill gap is greater than build gap. I would even go far as to say they are OP for busses and over-geared speed farming. You can just turn your brain off and dodge. You need toons like this if you raid on 6 toons... Helps a lot with the burnouts.

to comment on the deathblade, i do agree somewhat that the average player is not that great. the main issue with both engravigns still is the lack of crit. I can hug the boss 247 and greed all the patterns but a slayer will still outdps me bc they have like 80% innate crit. I have like what 50/60%? That loss in crit is a huuuge dps loss overall

The feedback on sorcs are kinda cringe. Its true though Sorceress Are currently gatekeeping due to the lack of the class design compared to the modern boss encounters. pay to win shenanigan sounds a bit childish. nonetheless. Imagine playing a glasscanon class but with no mobility no utility and not even top ceiling on damage. sure it used to MVP a lot back in the day of Year 1. But then again the modern class design and Modern boss encounter makes the old classes look like fools which is why a lot of old classes have been redesigned like Wardancers for examples. Sorc don't need buffs they just need some serious design. and I agree with Saintone take's on sorc like 100%. A lot of issues have been addressed and the solution to these are kinda being figured universally by majority of sorc players. In other words people who play this class know what the main issue about what the class and what are they solutions for it. Hopefully they will release a Wizard class (Male Sorc) and release a redesign for Femele Sorc just like they did with Breaker and Scrapper.

most people that play TTH simply don't have balls. so they remove the shotgun skill to have a more condensed burst and less time spent in animation lock. the fact that the two variants are so close in the terms of damage is the pinnacle of lost ark cringe. is not like other class engraving that change the gameplay in some shape or form, like for example with deathblade you have the variety of RE or Surge litteraly TTH just remove one stance and you end up doing exactly what u where doing but with less APM.

All this min maxing gatekeeping is disgusting, creating such massive arbitrary restrictions outside of a set group of people is one of the most toxic things. for example, i choose a class because i like the play, and the fantasy, its my main spent all resources and then being shit on for picking the wrong class.... insane. makes people spend the 100 + hours, all resources, then finding out other people don't like you because of that initial class choice. makes people never want to come back, especially knowing it can change based on patch and the meta blockades will be different.

the tier list is putting most of the strong and well wanted classes like night's edge - slayer - death strike - in mid tier which I find kinda weird after all I would say it still depends heavily on the player so eventually gamers just play whatever classes you enjoy, the more geared and skilled you are the more chances and parties that will accept you, you can play anything as long as you do mechs right, if some parties ban you for just your class you're better off away from those people anyway. enjoy the game

gatekeeping based on class alone is the dumbest thing ever. Each class has ups and down and should only gatekeep if gear is total trash

I don't agree with blue and red lancer being gigachad and wow. The class lack dps and for it to be strong enough you have to spend way more than other class and be overgeared. Also it's a hated class in akkan due to front atk.

What content are you playing where any class lacks DPS for a fight? I agree that GL needs a high investment in gems to do competitive DPS but that's every DPS standard in higher raids. The class is still capable of pulling their weight while providing lots of utility. I've been in too many pugs with that goblino mentality that miss counters or fail stagger/destruction checks. I would take a GL any day. They're at least reliable. If we lack damage because we expect additional utility like nellas, I'll cover the difference. DPS is something I consider as a group. Often times, it's because people died early or you have someone that's running around with poor uptime anyway. Not because you have a GL. Also, front attacking in Akkan involves a learning curve but it's not that bad. There's literally only 1 mech that you can't get hit by in G1 but for G2 and G3 there are many front attack windows. If a front attacker is eating everything they're either greeding too hard (which is inconsiderate to your raid but again that goblino mentality) or it's unironically a skill issue.

Those GLs you run into that goblino akkan patterns need to get called out because they're probably alts. They're already playing a simple class. I'm gonna bet those who eat all meter mechs are grandpas who came over from Diablo 4 😂

Even 1630 korean players get gatekeep. Ive seen parties right out decline atk on meta classes. Its just part of the game. We shouldn’t even be mad at this point. Eventually it gets better and happens less often as you get stronger. And lets be honest, even we as average players, we wouldnt take weaker people than us in our party. If we are weak, and take weak players, does that make sense?
