Bran is obviously the most powerful, but it’s noteworthy that Arya is able to keep her warming connection with Nymeria from across the narrow sea which implies that she is quite powerful. Bran: tries to control Ghost Ghost: "Occupied"
@peterusmc2021 күн бұрын
@amdreallyfast well we see varamir take over orels eagle while still inside it and we see bran feel another person inside a crow. I think we have been shown quite clearly that two people can be inside the same creature especially if one has died and is living a second life inside it, if anything it's easier. In fact I think we've seen ghost having been warged by others (imo future bran but that's tinfoil) already on a few occasions. When he finds the dragonglass and the horn, when he alerts the brothers to Jon's presence to get him caught etc and possibly by melisandre or something similar to charm him. What hasn't been shown is anyway to push the other person out. Orel changed varamirs personality a bit after he took the eagle, seems to be more of a dominating than a kicking out. The only real evidence to the contrary I've seen is varamir's talk of "stealing" a creature and in regard to ghost in particular (foreshadowing much) but from my understanding varamir has only "stolen" animals from other skin changers after they have died, my reading being he'd kill jon then take ghost. If anything then to me it's more likely someone else will try to warg ghost during this time and like bran with the raven realise that jon is in ghost and maybe even be able to communicate with him. Maybe mel, maybe bran maybe even the skin changer with the boar at the wall currently. If it happens I think it had been foreshadowed. From what I've seen when someone dies and is living a second life in their beast their will is "weaker" they are less able to resist another skin changer.

This video is doing something to my ASoIaF chemistry! The way you discussed Arya was really helpful in probing my mind to new ways of imagining her story progressing. I suspect, because of the motifs and themes and cultural ideas explored in the A Dance With Dragons Prologue, one of the starks will delve into the realm of committing ABOMINATION. They all lack formal warg training from someone like… I think his name was Hagen? The Warg who trained Varameir. His story was reflective of the old ways, and how the skin changer powers were rife with opportunity for immorality. Varameir skin changing and attempting to steal thistles body is very likely, to occur with other stark children in my opinion. John, Arya, and Bran (with the Hodor twist), could all explore the idea of the possible immortality of skin changing to achieve one’s goals. Warg culture is one of the most interesting aspects of this universe. The old ways. How it all interplays with the trees.

@jimmygreer21403 күн бұрын
Currently in the books I would say it's Arya because she's been able to warg while not being in a trance-like state. I'm sure being blinded has helped her tremendously with "using her 3rd eye" like that. But I feel like the one with the greatest potential is going to be Jon because of the blood of the dragon he's got. He is everything Rhaegar was hoping would come true. The blood of Old Valyria and of the First Men combined into a great & just warrior/leader. It was interesting. I never caught onto Sansa's connection to the falcons of the Eyrie until you brought it up. That is pretty clever.
@gloweye20 күн бұрын
Bran also benefits from the "lost a sense" type of deal, by losing his legs. Not walking on his own might also have helped him develop his skinchanging, just like being blind for Arya. Still, with his active training, I would argue that at the moment he is the most powerful by far. Jon will stay weak until he accepts what he is and starts actually developing the ability. Arya has no moral constraints, which will make her strong as well. Sansa grabbing birds sounds like a good idea to me. There's a few hints that she might become a spymistress if she starts using her brain, and overhearing things while skinchanging into birds will help a lot with that.

Jon is second to Bran in this regard, but Jon seems more powerful than anyone realizes, as a skinchanger. Just a sense I get, especially when I'm reading the books.
@eric250019 күн бұрын
Bran, of course, followed closely by Arya, who is not even trying and still dreams wolf dreams with a sea between them. Then Jon, Rickon and then Sansa. ALTHOUGH if Rickon dies perhaps Sansa can form an attachment with Shaggydog.

We know from Varamyr and Borroq that wargs can sense other wargs and their potential power. Skinchanging and wargs seem to be far more respected and accepted by the wildlings and while House Skagos obstensibly offers allegiance to House Stark, they seem to have far more in common culturally with the wildings than with other 'noble' northern houses. And so. presumably, there will be wargs among the Skagosi (maybe skinchanging into unicorns?) who will sense Rickon's potential as a warg and train him accordingly.

Each dog is their owner. Same with the Dragon and their riders. In a GOT, you can see the imagery between the direwolves and the dragon eggs. So it's an ice and fire thing. Direwolves and Dragons are the same in the way they bond with their owners.

Bran is the one that has developed his skills the most. So he is the most powerful by default. But we don't really know the scope of Rickon's powers. John's may be intensified because he's a mix of Ice and Fire. Or R's and J's may just be different from Bran's.

Nonsense ned didn't really believe in the old gods according to his pov, was far away from the raven and might not have even known of its existence and was not in contact with anyone we know could have taught him any skin changing. Also ned would not have any plot reason to be in the raven except that it would be notable to jon... That all doesn't apply to benjen however!! Benjen is in the raven!! He's been missing since book 2 and constantly mentioned, the raven is sus, notable quotes of the raven acting up when benjen is mentioned, is from a known skin changer bloodline, regularly going beyond the wall and was not far apart from bloodraven having been at the wall and friends of his and other rangers like quorin halfhand immediately recognise jon as a warg, he intimately knew the raven and has motive to try and help jon and Mormont if he could. The wall has been shown to stop people warging creatures from one side to the other, see orel's eagle and varamir or jon and ghost. So while bloodraven/bran maybe are just powerful enough or have a way to get around it via weirwoods etc it doesn't make much sense that bloodraven is warging the raven from the other side of the wall. Benjen is bird is just so true in my eyes if he isn't coldhands which I don't think he is.

Bloodraven telling bran he will do more than one animal or being at a time is mind boggling. Imagine brans sense of self is outside his body and roams to wherever he sees fit or even his will manifests outside of his body and controls both at once and with practice becomes 3 then 4 then 20 and then just becomes the old god

5:19 i think the subtext here isnt that hes talking about a different kind of wolf. Hes stating that they wont be your pet, which is true for wolves in real life. But you can be a member if their pack, and packs operate within families (the only time wolf packs have "Alpha males" are in captivity situations where pack members are mixed together). So as the person who raised and properly cared for the wolf, Robb became that wolf's father. Its more a relationship of respect than it is domestication. Which is even more profound to do with a wild dire wolf of the north than it would be to tame it.

My Head Canon is King Robb, Grey Wind, Lady, Ned and all other Starks went to the Weirwood Net (guided by BloodRaven, knowing that Bran would want his family/pack brought 'home') and then they would be able to speak to living Starks later on. I want the Pack reunited 😞

I remember on my second re-read wondering why in the world Jaqen very clearly seems to have chosen Arya. I realized the idea of him being captured and shackled like a common thief is ridiculous. If he was taken prisoner it was only because he allowed it - somehow knowing this would lead him to cross paths with Arya and facilitate their introduction. I started wondering why he was even in King’s Landing at all since, as far as we know, he wasn’t on a mission to give the gift of death or assassinate anyone. No, he was definitely solely there for HER. Pretty odd. Why? There are plenty of hate-filled and talented little girls that would make even better prospects than Arya over in Braavos. Why make a month long trip just for her? (And no, Jaqen wasn’t the one hired by Euron to kill Balon, it doesn’t fit). I think Arya’s experiences of inhabiting another person’s skin and wearing their face is quite different than it is for common recruits. It would make a lot of sense that her skin-changing abilities would be important to an organization that literally wears other people’s skin. I believe with the order of the Faceless Men being seemingly thousands of years old they would’ve realized long ago that the most gifted were those who were born with this same ability Arya has. In the TV show they don’t touch upon it at all. But in the books this is going to be revealed to be extremely important. That the true Faceless Men, the ones like Jaqen, are all born skin-changers. All true Faceless Men are all skin-changers by birth. The defining characteristic that sets Arya apart from the others is that her powers were awakened as part of a pack. In nature there are no lone wolfs, they are biologically programmed to be pack animals. Her ability or desire to break her identity and fully embrace “no one” isn’t there. She literally can’t do it - become no one - become a lone wolf. In the end this what will ultimately send her back home parting ways with the Order and not being able to become No One.

Need to add “other than Bran” to the title to make it interesting. After him it’s definitely Jon in my opinion since he is the only one really aware of it other than Arya. Especially if the theory about him living on in ghost until his resurrection is true. I think his ability might grow stronger

Maybe someone from the community can answer this or hopefully In Deep Geek himself if no one else knows. Am I imagining things or did he have an entire series dedicated to "Robert's Rebellion" and or "What actually happened at the Tower of Joy"? I can't recall exactly what the series was called. But it was at least 20+ videos that I very vividly remember watching but can no longer find them. Did he delete this series off of his channel?

If all Greenseers must be wargs, then where is Jojen's warging? We never see him do it or to my memory he never discusses it in reference to himself. Jojen isnt a greenseer, he just has greensight, which is GRRM's way of half super saiyan him. He's got power too but not the real one just like the half convenient to the plot one. No one else has it that we know but its fits the plot and we cant have Jojen warging that diminishes Bran and he cant be a full greenseer for same reason. Point is Jojen's character is really convenient and one of GRRM's cheaper decisions.

Arya is the most powerful. She naturally embraces her warg abilities without question. We hear that cats are the most difficult animal to warg, but she does it effortlessly. She is the most powerful.

Bran is clearly the most powerful at this point, but I believe that had circumstances been even slightly different any of the Stark children could have become a greenseer. Blood Raven said Bran's blood made him a greenseer, lol and the same blood flows through all of the Stark children's veins. While the text well establishes that one is born with the gifts of the old gods, I suspect that each individual's own experiences determines how their gift will develope. While all the Stark children whose wolves are still alive apparently have psychic connections to their wolves, only Arya can skinchange cats because she built a rapport with them while chasing them through the bowels of the Red Keep, and only Bran can skinchange Hodor because they built a rapport while Hodor was carrying Bran around Winterfell like his personal beast of burden, and Sansa's abilities haven't developed much at all because her wolf was killed so soon. Each of their unique experiences is demonstrated in the unique manifestation of their gifts. Even though Jon's abilities apparently manifested earlier, Bran gained conscious control of his abilities sooner due to the guidance of blood Raven and Jojen Reed, which only occurred after Bran was thrown from the First Keep. If one of the other Stark children had suffered such an ordeal instead, I suspect Blood Raven would have contacted them rather than Bran. And under his guidance Jon, Robb, Arya, Rickon, or even Sansa could have become a greenseer.

Hmm being able to skin change into multiple humans at once turning them into a horde sounds familiar. What if the Great Other is a green seer on level with what bran with become but is dead and only able to skin change into dead things. The walk acts as the barrier for it, and perhaps it is time traveling bran and it will all end with King of Summer Bran breaking bread with King of Winter Bran.
