Guys, the problem is not having Dejong and Pedri together in that midfield. I'm so so sad to see obvious favoritism for Gavi. It hurts so much, i know. But we gotta understand that we have injuries. On the back line we only have pique garcia roberto alonso alba and balde. We didn't have any body else that could replace them, unless you want to play the inexperienced barca b back line in these big games? Busquets yes he's awful yesterday, but frenkie just came back from injury. You want to risk him getting a relapse just for one group game? Yes we needed him yesterday, but we need him just as much for much more games ahead. The time when he will take over the single pivot role or just any role is coming as we will rotate our squad more and more. Xavi already benched our veterans at the start of the season, he knows what to do and just got unlucky with the injuries and basically got no choice but to play them. I know we are feeling very frustrated because of what happened, trust me i feel it too. And we need someone to blame or take a blame to ease our feeling and blame everything to our veterans (which i believe they deserve to get blamed) but this is our situation right now. Unless we wait for January and sign another player so the likes of pique and busquets won't have to play every single time. We need patience, i know we were being patience for long enough time. And this isn't what barca are supposed to be. But our luck is just isn't the best these past few years. We have to stay strong and back up our players no matter how much we don't want to cheer for them. I'm sure it will get better, just have to be patience a little bit more

I think everybody played his part in this. Xavi with questionable line ups and the players who didn't always preform or made crucial errors. On top of that we weren't in the easyest group to begin with made harder by smoe questionable refeereing decisions nor did we have any luck with injuries. In short everybody is to blame for this.

The main issue is the defense being short handed. Also I would say we should have been much more controlled and patient going into the 2nd half. They were trying to go for another goal, which I respect, but they lacked patience doing so. I think we all expected a comprehensive win, but our team is not quite there. I think this draw is humbling. Real fans will stick with the team and respect the process. I knew that we would fall short in one way or another this season. You can’t just buy success. That said, I think we have the makeup to win at least one competition this year. In the meantime, we need to mature as a team and let go of players that no longer compete at the top level. Also, for the love of god, Xavi needs to drill the players to death on covering counter attacks. This will always be our weakness, but with better organization and awareness, we can manage

I need to add however the fact that Xavi insists on starting Gavi & as exceptional as he is for his age, we cannot control a game with him in midfield he is not comfortable enough on the ball to slow the game down in midfield. His tenacity, technique & agility are great going forward & defending but his football IQ & composure aren’t good enough to control a game like the Barcelona way. We should be starting Kessie, Pedri & Frenkie. Gavi off the bench! Also just wanted to point out, even without scoring, I have really enjoyed Ansu Fatis cameos he looks like he is getting sharper & he still has his skill behind him, I cannot wait until he is fit to start every game.

Until Xavi plays Frankie, Kessie and Pedri you understand how inexperienced our midfield has been playing Pedri and Gavi. Experience plays important role in big games. The most critical position he needed to address was RB, so much so that we played Kounde & Araujo at RB. Theres no justification as to why he would want Alonso so bad to go as far as giving him stipulation in his contract for him to start against our best LB currently (Balde) in the UCL. Whether or not the goal is to win La Liga, in no way should we not make it through this group and i dont know why youre giving Xavi a pass. So youre trying to say that Xavi intentionally threw away the UCL fo to focus on La Liga? Giving Chelsea our second best striker in exchange for Alonso was a terrible peace of business. And no Alonso wasnt the 6th choice, Xavi has been trying to get him before the transfer window started he had already given him a verbal agreement. So Alonso is Xavi's man, he wanted him and that explains why he trusts him more in the big games instead of Balde, simple. As for me - xavi is not ready for this level of coaching, he should have started with the B team 1st, then move up to the 1st team when he was ready, he is unable to read the game and make changes accordingly when his plan A is not working or the other team adapts. We were inverting our formation from 4-3-3 to 3-4-3 (which was needed to create an overload in the midfield to control the game) and Balde or Alba can't play as cb so Alonso was the only option for the lb... Replacing busi with De Jong is not an option as he is not suited in a single pivot role, we saw that many times in the last seasons... Yesterday we had an xG of 2.7 while inter had 0.6... A coach's main objective is to increase the chance of scoring and decreasing the chance of conceding, yesterday Xavi exactly did that... Your completely right in all aspects. The only things I will point out to is Alonso isn't who he was 3-4 years ago. He wasn't a starter in Chelsea before he left, Alonso hasnt really improved our lb options yet. Also, Yesterday the defense failed us, if you watch most of our games, the opponents go for busquet, alba and pique as our weak points. We suffered from injuries but xavi is also very adamant on making changes sometimes it comes back to bite us. De jong isn't the best choice for dm but he or anyone else needs time to adapt. All the three forwards are a threat inside the goal. Dembele, Ferran and Depay lacks that clinical finishibg in which they other have.

I completely agree with you, but I also don’t disagree with Xavi now that I think on it. While there may have been some questionable moments throughout the group stage, there was only one game where we looked no where near scoring and that was the first game against Inter. We got what we deserved there I think, even with the atrocious ref. But against Bayern and Inter at home, we had a real chance of taking hold of the match and getting good results. If we had been clinical against Bayern, we would’ve at least tied and we could’ve beat Inter if we had avoided just ONE mistake, just one! It could’ve been 7 points to Inter’s 6 at this point, but we failed. With the group we were in, we simply couldn’t make those mistakes and not be punished for it.

Due to our defensive issues, we need to switch to a double anchor midfield of FDJ and Kessié to give Pedri the license to roam and play like a classic #10. This would also allow Balde to attack down the left flank. One of the biggest problems is that Xavi has changed his tactics since the time he came. At the start he would use wingers and midfielders so fluidly that we would have great movement but lately it seems t9 be that he tells the wingers to just go so wide and cross which isolates Lewandowski against three defenders and leaves Pedro and gavi with no creativity, Frustrating.

I think we have to be open to making these mistakes, to shake off the elements that will be faulty for this structure.. I am glad we are seeing this at this level.. and for me we are headed in the right direction..
