I only cried 5 times in my life My cat that died of feline disease(cat Aids) End of gravity falls End of icarly (I was 7) End of phiniues and ferb And this movie, I was at a bad time in my life and connected with the movie, (I'm still having a bad time but not as bad) My point is this movie was very powerful to make me cry, witch was rare (because I normally don't show emotion and feel anything but neutral, sad, and happy though only when I can rarely talk about my favorite topic, history with someone)

I really love that people still do videos about A Silent Voice, it really is a movie that changed many peoples perspectives on Anime as a medium be it from it's music to it's characters and story. Having those mature tones without diving it into a comedic way is impressive to me. How she managed to show so much competetion and emotion from handsigns is truly wonderful. I just hope that in the future she will still be able to convey story such as beautiful as A Silent Voice to more people.

Man I read Yoshitoki Ooima "A Silent Voice" manga back when it was still serializing in Weekly Shonen Magazine and even read the One-Shot. The manga was pretty obscure to me at the time but I came across it when I was looking for manga and it appeared to have updated as a top featured popular manga, and then I gave it a couple chapters and was immediately hooked with the story being grounded and the characters felt realistic. It gave more awareness to deaf people (and other people with various disabilities) in Japan who Don't always tend to be treated well. Ooima really is one special kind of writer how she really persevered and put the work that she wanted to make, and not what others want. Great video man !👍

Really hate how these big publications like shonen jump cater to the lowest common denominator at the expense of incredible creators like yoshitoki oima. Oima sensei got the big break, but there must be so many countless managaka's with new stories to tell only to be blocked by some executives. They could easily have both, shallow fun stuff and really powerful pieces of art together, but they choose to just publish the same old rinse and repeated stuff. I have never read or seen a story written like koe no Katachi in ANY medium. And yoshitoki oima sensei's current manga series, To your eternity is again something completely new and never before seen story. This truly speaks to the brilliance of yoshitoki oima sensei. Instances like these where such amazing artists have to suffer and forced to put in so much extra effort that sometimes ends up in exhaustion and mental breakdown due to industry practices makes me really be conscious of any piece of medium I'm consuming. I feel as readers we have the power to control what's produced because these money hungry labels and publications at the end will put money over everything, and the reader r who give the money to them, so they will only produce what the audience demands the most instead of taking a risk and providing the audience with something new that may broaden their general reader's perspective.

This video is truly inspiring, thank you!! Ah, did it make me cry? Well, the entire video I was for sure getting emotional by your narration of her perseverance, success and struggles. But when you quoted her reasons to why publish in a Shounen Magazine specifically, man, that hit hard, and I couldn't help but feel the tears coming down my face until minutes after the video, haha. I may cry way too easily, but that line and delivery were really strong, congrats, man! Also, I didn't know To Your Eternity was from her, that's nice to know!! It's very good, I recommend it. Although I'm not caught up, I read only 20~30 chapters, but then stopped because... I don't remember why exactly... I REALLY despised A Silent Voice when I first watched it. And I mean I really, really hated it because I thought it portrayed deaf people poorly. And I think I may have been a little to harsh to the movie simply because of how personal Josee the tiger and the fish was to me. After reading the manga, I'm a little disappointed in the movie adaptation to be honest. The manga is so much better in terms of the story, and my respect to Yoshitoki Oima for creating such a masterpiece. My appreciation for A Silent Voice has increased tenfold. Thank you Yiman for making this video and for making me love A Silent Voice like how I initially wanted to. Also, can you please make a video about the creator/director/author of Josee the tiger and the fish? I see many parallels between that movie and A Silent Voice. I already saw your video where you compared Naoko Yamada's storytelling to that of Josee, and while I do still prefer Josee to A Silent Voice (I always will) A Silent Voice is currently in the third spot on my list of my favourite mangas. And Spy X Family is in top spot (because Endo Sensei is such a genius). I think we both can agree on that.
