it has to be one of the coppers surely, I feel like ed and ronnie may of battered joel in a bit more but not completely finished him off thus leaving him vulnerable for either kit or ds swain to track down and complete the job. I believe if it was kit he would be trying to frame mason by using the crowbar which he saw him chuck out. but ds swain has a lot of motive and the capabilities to carry out a deadly end.
