I’ve always liked John Kasich but he seems to be suffering from amnesia about the 2nd half of Trump’s term. COVID19 was monumentally mishandled by Trump and thousands, if not tens of thousands of American died needlessly due to Trump downplaying the virus even though he knew how deadly it was.

I remember being sent home from work because a top official in our state's Transportation Department who had an office five floors below mine in the World Trade Center came down with COVID. I remember Trump saying the coronavirus would go away "like magic" and there'd be packed churches at Easter, and how the pandemic was "no worse than a bad flu season." I could go on.

It's not about the "economy". It's about why, when the economy is, by all metrics, doing great, the working class people of America don't feel it. It's about income inequality. The fact that wages over the last 50 years haven't matched inflation, nor have they been commensurate with the drastic increase in worker productivity. Sky high corporate profits, built on the back of the American worker and consumer. The giant sucking sound of all the money being siphoned up to the rich. About the rich paying their fair share, and the middle class being able to feel the benefits of all their labor. Making sure the disabled and elderly don't have to choose between medication and paying their bills, while Bezos buys another mega yacht.

Surprising Gov. Kasich is unable to recognize tongue-in-cheek, especially when it's as obvious as that example. His situational awareness of both the previous administration and today leave him offering as mixed (confused?) a message as in years past.
