In the 70's when you drove over the Gowanus bridge it smelled like the wind was blowing through the sewers. I enjoyed your video and the nice striper you caught. Thanks.

I don't care how many oysters and fish there are, that canal stinks from blocks away and is an open sewer. Never ever interact with that water, that's just gross.

the yuppies that live there now have no idea what this dump was for over 100 years. the smell was horrible just driving by it. brooklyn was the best.

The Gowanus is full of trash, leaked oil, and dead bodies its disgusting and toxic. I would never touch that fish or water with my bare hands. the New York state fish is a brook trout by the way and striped bass can get up to 80 pounds.
