I’m speaking on my experiences growing up in west Philadelphia. I’m 35 years old by the way. Philadelphia has always rocked the new balances. As a kid in early to mid 1990s everyone wore Reebok’s, new balances. If faded out for a minute and the sneaker of choice was mostly pumas, new balances..2005 we were rocking timberlands, and airforce1s. That’s a fact. 09-2012 the new balance are emerged in Philadelphia because that was the best sneakers on the commissary list on state road. We brought the 990 wave back to the streets. 2016 that shit was dying out , but bmore brought it back. Now Harlem binging them flavors back with the 990s. We used to wear the Timbs, Reebok classics(but they got played out early), and AF1, Jordans, AIs, Eddie Jones Team J's, KG's, Penny Hardaways, and Saconys, Adidas, in the 90s and late 90s in Philly. Fila barely was worn. 574 NB was an early 2000s thing in Philly. Then we moved on to Nike boots and acg sneakers since late 2000s. And we wore THF, Nautica, Sean John, Perry Ellis, First down, and flight jackets in the 90s. Oh and Dickies was school uniform. Dickies and white Tees was everything in the 90s and 2000s in Philly. I'm 33 now, but I'm positive we've been wearing NB since the early late 90/2000s, but they been played out for us for years. I could go on forever. Im not arguing who started what I just know what we wore and social media ain't exist to know what y'all wore to copy nobody.

I remember I went to college out Pine Bluff Arkansas in 04, The New York dudes was trying to buy my pearls off my feet and the Baltimore dudes didnt even like them.
