I was really hyped when Figuarts announced their PS4 Spiderman and I grabbed right away. However I can't help myself but dissapointed with the articulation. Bandai may has been experimenting more new joints/ articulation setups but they just don't really work the way they should be :( I really hope that Legends would redo this guy for a decent scale and look. Still very informative video, I might grab a MS one and will wait for your modifying video. Thanks a lot!

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one buddy, his spider logo looks very aggressive and has thin legs his head DOES look like it's straight out of the game but not Spider-Man PS4 but rather Marvel: Ultimate Alliance his colours aren't as accurate as to the S.H. Figuarts and lastly they didn't get the carbon fiber detail on the white areas which are very important if you're gonna say that "it looks straight out of the game".

The marvel select blue is accurate in its own way. Before the games release, Spider-Man’s color pallet was a lighter blue in trailers, gameplay/promotional footage, etc. However there was a downgrade in graphics & that’s when the blue changed to a darker tint. So both colors are accurate technically.

I am baffled to by the way all three companies really missed the mark just as you pointed out brother Wade. I was really disappointed in Sh Figuarts on this figure. They should have bliwn this one away. So my Marvel Legends wins in my opinion, by default. That is why I did not up grade on this particular version. Marvel legend version very basic approach to this Spidey suit. But it is most cost effective. And select...they had one hit in years- the world breaker Hulk/ Gladiator Hulk. Since then, they continue to suck I think.

Yeha S.H version really dropped the ball. I was suprised by how much I disliked that figure. The Legends one is definitely cool, I just wish it had some unique details. I disagree about Select though, although they have put out ALOT of bad figures, they have definitely had some hits in the last few years.

If I take accuracy out of it and just go by what I find visually appealing, id have to say I like the color scheme and sculpt of the select version which doesn't surprise me. I enjoy select figures and even though they're technically less articulated I usually mod them and get what I need from them like that. It's harder to do and in some cases impossible with the older ones but majority of the figures they've put out over the last year or two can be. I wish companies would take into account how large the customizing scene is when making their figures and incorporate that into their designs to get around what they're allowed to do with their license agreements. It would be extremely easy to have someone pump out videos that show people what to do to get that extra articulation out of them using youtube, acting like they have nothing to do with the companies. I bought a massive bag of pegs that are supposed to fit shf,mafex,pak,etc and have been using them to completely redo figures that have amazing sculpts that are basically slightly pose-able 6-7" plastic statues and even a few plastic statues that fit perfectly with 7" scale figures. I basically heat them up with my digital heat gun while cutting the figures into pieces, using my dremel to drill/carve out holes for the pegs and it's been working great. So far have only been doing it on dc collectible releases but it's been extremely rewarding. Last set I finished was those jim Lee cell shaded trinity (superman,batman, ww) figures that dc has released like 50 times already as single figures, the blue line black and white, a war three pack,etc,etc.

the SHF legs can go up higher, just move to the side a little and the arm can go up to about 90 degrees, just drop the ball peg down within the butterfly joint before raising the arm up. This figure as far as i know has very tight joints which some may think it doesn't move well. just Softsoap all the joints and leave it for a day or two. it'll loosen up. anyway, the SHF has the same articulation on all their spider-man figures which basically all of them functions the same. This one is just super tight as is on the Far from home one as well. the top of the foot can go over the leg btw i think... the other SHFs does, not sure about this one with the tighter tolerance. btw, i think the overall appearance, the SHF is still better because in your photo when they sat on the couch the other two looks like they had their knee cap chopped off.

SHFiguarts is by far the best articulations and why I love SHFiguarts is because of the articulation, quality, aesthetics, and to pose them, I like the marvel legends comic book counterparts because it’s base on comic books, personally I hate the MCU counterparts because it’s basic, lazy (because they constantly reuse parts that I recognize from previous marvel legends, sure some of them still look good, but I’m don’t like to see reused parts from new figures), and not accurate!!because the MCU marvel legends counterparts look goofy, terrible, and laughable, which is why I rather buy SHFiguarts because of the accurate sculpted Figuarts sure it’s expensive but I rather purchase expensive figures with good quality, better paint, new parts, and awesome articulations!!

This is a tricky one, i got all 3 you got there. They each have there own pros and cons. The select one definitely got the look going while the legend's and SHF one got the articulation though the SHF one is a bit tricky to work with specifically in the shoulder's imo. I wanna say the most user friendly one is the legend's one but for your overall one to go with idk!

I feel like the SH Figuarts looks amazing especially in promo shots compared to Marvel Select where his joints and proportions don’t look too wonky, but the one thing that would make me choose Marvel Select, his lines are painted in. It’s hard to tell if the SHF even has lines and if he does they are very thin. MS made them clear and the more smooth and straight look also give the game vibes more. If SHF weren’t based of game it would be better. And ML, just no.

That head is what caused me to not want the Marvel Legends figure. I was gonna wait for the Marvel Select figure but S.H. Figuarts dropped theirs first and I just prefer more solid articulation and accessories for my figures for stop motion.

Take an MCU Spider, paint it a matching red color(Or just use the FFH head which is the right color), take a fine tipped black marker pen($4 at Walmart) to the web grooves on the head, swap it on the PS4 Spidey head, and it is the PERFECT figure.

The legends doesn't scale very well with the other gamerverse legends spideys which is weird. The spidey armor 2.0 looks thinner then the base suit. I haven't played the game but isn't it supposed to be Peter in both suits? From the same time frame? Weird that hasbro would make it a whole new sculpt and not make it bigger than the basic suit.

I will say that if you get the knockoff SHF, it's definitely worth it. I got several for the price of one, and that allowed me to customize and fix some of the issues without feeling like I wasted money. The Marvel Select is the best imo, but the lenses are what bother me (same goes for the ML, but at least it has a comic vibe going for it). The shapes are wrong and it's annoying me more than it should lol

Marvel Legends is better if you take an MCU Spidey Head(Particuarly the FFH red and black one), take a black paint marker to the lines and swap the heads, it becomes PERFECT.

When Sony and Marvel kissed and made up last year, I wanted to do a pic of SHF PS4 Spidey putting his arm around MCU Spidey and nope, I was like WTF man?
