I don't know why, but I had a smile on my face while watching it. There is something about the fact that after 15 years someone finds the contact of the creator of a legendary map and managed to get in touch with him. Searching through the nooks and crannies for information like a true internet historian.

I did something similar for an old DOS game that was my streamer friend's first ever game. The game was called Humpty's Scramble, and I managed to get in contact with one of the original 2 devs of the game and ask come questions!

Because it just isn't very good. It's worse 2fort, if you can believe it. I appreciate it's legacy, and the creation of it being impactfu8l in TF2's history, but I am not going to give turbine false respect for issues it clearly has gameplay-wise.

I'm always surprised how big Valve's mapping influence is on other games. Seeing the Halo version of this level was pretty cool. It's neat seeing not just default maps from Valve games being recreated in other games, but even custom maps people make having renditions in other games too. Valve games truly have a special influence when it comes to levels.

I never understood why there is a lot of hate for this map, it's one of my favorite maps. I heard some people don't like the ceiling because it gives issues with rocket jumps, but that's just the way maps are, they don't need to be open all the time. I spent countless hours on those 24/7 Turbine servers, great times. Maybe it's because I often saw the map as just a place to chill and goof around and not play the game seriously, like sometimes I'd just experiment with a class I don't normally play or a weapon. There were times the whole team and myself would work together to break through and take the intel that was heavily guarded by pocketed heavies, one or 2 good snipers, and 4 to 6 sentries. It honestly was a lot of fun. The map just had a aura in it that can't really be fully explained, just experienced.

I'd think if Flobster wanted to update Turbine - it's their choice. But they shouldn't worry about people getting mad - they'll always get mad. Heck, they can just download the old version if they can't stand the thought of having the map be a tiny bit better from the authors pov - considering how much the game has moved on! I think Turbine is my favourite CTF map simply because it's super small and the intel isn't ridiculously deep within a base, so it keeps things fast and loose! -
