It was YOU behind these maps in the end??? Holy crap! I didn’t even realize. That’s so crazy…well, for better or worse I’m very happy to know it had been you. After all, weird maps is one of the best video series on KZbin imo.

It should be noted; one of the people you inspired with these maps is InfernoPlus. He wound up making "Desert Hog" for Halo. Which itself is a recreation of Desert Bus on the Sega Saturn. The player bases are two hours apart, if I remember correctly. And that's if you don't get killed before you get there.

Amazing video as always! Didnt even know you were behind those long 2fort and turbine maps. Its weird how you can interact with different aspects of someone's work and dont even suspect that they are made by the same person.

It's really insane to realize these maps were some of the only things keeping TF2 alive back then. Source: I was there.

Wubwubwub's launching off has made me always want to make a map set on a spaceship that does exactly that. It'd be a attack/defend, and as the points were capped, the ship would move through space and fall apart until crashing into a star and exploding, killing everyone.

1:36 that just made me remember when i was playing hl2 deathmatch as a kid (thank god for my family owning the orange box on xbox) and loaded into a killbox map and seeing some of *that* stuff in it. i quit the game as fast as i could and cried.

Woah, I never knew you made these! It's super interesting to hear about how they were made. I've always had a deep love for weird maps and I'm glad you made a series about it. It's one of those niche things that I loved about TF2 and its nice to know someone else is as passionate about it.

I can't believe this trend is as old as CP_Orange was when these came out. These were so old, that RTGame was just starting and exceeding his online career as a TFTuber with these maps. We need to make more.

@Eddie-th8ei4 күн бұрын
i remember a version of highertower that was twice as long, had a midsection, and had really good ambient sounds when climbing, theese long maps really feel like liminal spaces, especially if you're climbing a tower that noone else on the server is climbing
