Thank you Chris and Greg. These segments mean the world to me. You don’t offer a quick fix to problems. You lay it all out. Most people, especially celebrities, don’t take the time to help others like you do.

A great teachable podcast. I was even taking notes on your repeat, regret, resistance, retreat. Love this!❤️ Yes, everyone makes mistakes. We must learn from them and to improve our self worth. Perhaps out of 5 mistakes, focus on one to change it. That's what I am trying to do. Not easy. Thank you, Chris.🙂❤️

Hi Chris, I am a soon to be 66 yr old lady. I live in the mid west (IN) and I have followed you for quite a while now. Both on CNN and now your new programs like this and the walk and talks. You are a very real person, you just tell your truth as you see it and challenge us to do the same. This podcast is just proof of it. I believe that every time I watch or listen to you, I learn a new or different way to look at or approach a situation. And it takes a "big man" to admit to all that you do, that proves you are just another human being, trying to learn how to do better, by being better. Thank you for your candor and your take on this thing, we call life . Even at my age, I'm still learning how to be a human being. Keep up the work you're doing and sharing with us. We need it so desperately now.

Chris, The way you are sharing with us demonstrates a selfless quality. I appreciate seeing this. There is no doubt that you are very intelligent. I dunno, I loved Chris as an anchor and opinion host. But here he feels like he's coming across like an authority on the pursuit of happiness almost every time. Happiness comes in many different flavors, and I don't always like what he serves up. I still like him, though. It just seems like this particular endeavor is mostly self-serving. Thanks again, Chris for being so open and honest about your life and what you have figured out along the way. I was just saying how an unexamined life is a wasted life. I’m all about psychology and philosophy and have always been intrigued by how the human mind works. Ppl are more forgiving than you think so forgive yourself more and try not to regret anything…it’s a waste of time and life is short. Live and learn. Create happy times because that’s all any of us have.❤️

I get you with that sinus type feeling. I had RSV in November. Middle of Dec I had what you had. It just took nasal spray, steroids and rest. My best friend has it now. She needed steroids and using nasal spray. Ears end up getting stopped up. Some type of a virus or weather changes. In Louisville area we have been 30s to 60s back to 30s. There were a lot of interesting points in the podcast. But, I take one day at a time and try to improve each day. Looking back is a waste of time and energy. Life is much too short. But there’s mid life crisis coupled with empty nest syndrome that makes people over 50 a little crazy. Chris you look great and you have a great attitude, so a few pounds either way is really no big deal. But thanks for the podcast, it was quite helpful. But, a slice of cake will round out the evening.

I am the queen of mistakes, but I’ve turned it around by learning from my mistakes. Chris that’s what you’re helping me do because you’re using yourself as an example and how many mistakes you make and keep repeating them. So let those know how to not have guilt or not to go down on their self when they do make mistakes?

OMG!!! You are describing my husband of 55 years! But with age, and I believe a hearing problem , can't hear w/out hearing aids & not always so good with them, it's much worse. I've been getting much info on this, trying to understand. I'm honestly ready to leave him IF I and our kids can't get him to LISTEN!! Big "IF". I really want to help him, as much for him as for us. He has a brother that has been divorced for years, his 2 sons have nothing to do with him, he's is a recluse, even with his 6 brothers & 2 sisters most of the time, 😔 I absolutely believe it would escalate my husbands mental health, but I'm at the point, ( 55 years ...duh!! ) thinking of the "few" years I have left. I have daughter in another state that would love for me to live with her & her family. My leaving won't be pretty but it's going to be all about me if he can't "look at himself " I've gotten too wording here, but your words and you're recognition & acceptance of yourself & that you still stumble has given me a "little " hope. Guess I need a place to vent. Thank You !!

OWNership. Be brave, do it. We humans tend to generalize w using "you"(and some, them, they, anyone, no one, etc) . Own IT by adressing it, YES, by using "I". It seems like it's ingrained in our society atm. Think some of these issues aren't adressed early on in an insident, or even in life. We also have weak leaders, and I myself can be the weakest link, as well. Takes courage to admit that I've done something wrong. "Sorry I was wrong. I did a mistake" But as it goes; " Sorry seems to be the hardest word..." Have a great week everyone, I sure am going to do my best 😉 Greetings from Arctic Norway 👋🌟✨✨✨✨

Remember that we all go through struggles and we make mistakes every day. Sometimes we make the same mistakes over and over again but that’s OK. Yes, the guilt comes and yes we feel bad but we have to remember. It’s usually the other person that makes us feel worst that way if we remember that everybody makes mistakes. We are not the only ones. The ones that are pointing the finger at us. Remember, they do that for a reason to control us.

Chris..I couldn't agree with you more...but also another important fact about learning other than plain Ole mistakes. Also themes that keep showing up in your life. Ex: keep being taken advantage of or people keep ending a friendship with you; to name a few. You know what I'm talking about...we all have them. They will keep showing up until you learn your lesson. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Always a fan of yours.

I've made a lot of mistakes in my life. A lot. I try not to beat myself up about it, after all, I had an exceptionally difficult path (raised by a single parent, childhood leukemia, ptsd, dyslexia). Stoic philosophy has helped (Epictetus is currently my favorite greek stoic). Buddhism is also a helpful philosophy, and it really is a philosophy more than a religion. Anyway, I appreciate the pep-talk. I'm not trying to be mean when I say, you, Chris, have clearly made some mistakes. It's a long way to fall, and also, it really didn't seem fair. However, it does give you a tremendous credibility. You remain one of the important voices in my life, I was a huge fan of your podcast and I followed you right to the end. What happened to you makes me sad. My best to you and your family. Hang in there.

I can help you with that! To break a bad habit, you must exchange it to another. Simple, huh? Resistance creates friction, friction creates energy that you can use for change. Love your flowchart! I do them too, and mindmaps 🙂(Speaking of loops, you might want to look up "double loop learning" by Chris Argyris and Donald Schön, to develop presence enough to catch yourself in an action and change then and how we learn.) The foundation of Lifecoaching is certainly NEVER to give you any strategies, because the solution must come from within yourself (like Socrates and Plato). Be well! Homework: What's the win for you to keep yourself into a negative feedback loop? Is that a way to receive love from others?

Acceptance is an important part in all of this, which I can see you starting to do here, Chris. Acceptance of how others feel, sure. But acceptance of how I feel and how frustrating it is for me to engage in the insanity of doing the same thing, over and over, and expecting things to change in any way...other than the date on the calendar or the clock on the wall.

Strategies - yes. We should all create ready made strategies to fit our patterns. . I learned the hard way , that after a while……you have to revisit the strategies. Make the needed adjustments as we grow and learn. I liken it to sewing a parachute on the way down. Prevention is preferred…..but sometimes I fk it up. So……I’ve become pretty good at stuffing down panic and sewing the parachute while I’m in a manic free fall……..ground coming up at me…….tears and snot…….and me sewing the parachute as the ground comes up at me. (Metaphors ? - I was raised by a preacher) . Now I’m learning that I should schedule constant reminders to make sure I find and secure the help I need with prevention. My goal is to never have to stitch a parachute on the way to the ground ever again. However … if it does happen again in the future , I know I can survive and I know what to do in the situation. . This is great listening ❤

Enjoying your « on the couch show »…and was missing it! I could be your mother so my analysis is based on that perspective… I know you do not need a Mum 👍😘 I love your extreme open mind I love the risks you take by stripping yourself psychologically It seems that you have been starting this inner work on yourself late in life even though you are still very young What I noticed about you @chris is that you seem to give us more of all your issues, your mistakes & wrong doings than if not the opposite at least your qualities! (maybe to discourage the attacks on Social Media ..?) Most Americans need constant compliments for very little doings very often, from what I discovered years ago. You beat up yourself a lot but only you know why, though with help & w/ your Family you definitely show the need of getting better. WE All have reasons to be who we are, you know that yourself. From the day we were born & even in the womb… information were coming in & were preparing a personality. Reason why I forgive & always forgave everyone w/ no exception in my life…as we & they all were facing a different context in life….though I cannot forget 😘 Back to you, you are the fruit of so many influences, Family, zibelines, friends, eras & being the last child w/a lot of pluses though also lots of minuses… To me you are a fantastic individual who is willing to try, not always easy, not always successful as you wish you were & saying it… You have understood the goal, the process & you are aware that it’s a mountain to climb & you are on your way up to the peak of this mountain Thank you for sharing those so personal feelings. I believe that your success back to the public eyes, besides your CC, your Family & other supports in the background, is You & the humility that you put in those projects. We can make mistakes & we all do. Though to admit them & to be willing to work on those publicly, in order to be a better person is all what it takes. Bravos. ( admitting a sin is 50% forgiveness … left over of my religion…😘) Keep being this kind of good & positive influencer to us your viewers. Thank you Chris 🇫🇷🇺🇸

I love the word provoked that you just said. Because sometimes we try really hard to do our best and then there’s those around us that provoke us, and they do it for a reason because they want us to fail and for us to kick in. So I blame it on them! I can be very loving, but if you provoke me and start cutting me down, I have another personality that automatically kicks in. I try to control my personality unless somebody provokes me now it doesn’t come automatically. It takes a little time because they do it repeatedly to blame things on you, they will point the finger at you and after while I’ve had it, so then I kick in to my bitch personality. At that point, I do not feel guilt because I believe they started it! Now if we start it, yes then we have to point the finger at our self! So who’s ever out there listening? Let’s talk about this because it’s very important that we talk about this topic!

I want nothing to do with this hell anymore. I’m done! If I don’t have peace, my weight is not my priority, my peace is and I’m doing everything I can to get out of this disaster and extreme STUPID mistake. We both agree divorce is the best option for us. Once I get my peace back then I’ll be interested in my weight. Is very challenging when you are under pain or pressure to worry about secondary stuff.
