I think the 7’2” MH glass Shimano Zodias is a major sleeper for a chatterbait rod. When I first got it I thought it was too soft, but after lots of use it’s proven to be deceivingly powerful when I need it to be.

I've settled on the 1st gen Megabass Levante Diablo Spec R after trying so many different rods off purchases/friends/family. It's a bit softer tip than the Orochi xx model, and enough backbone to drive hooks. I just hope this rod never breaks because I noticed a difference between the 1st Gen and 2nd gen.

I absolutely love that MH Glass Expride for 3/8 oz chatterbaits (and nothing above)! Great for casting and skipping, but a great feature is you can feel every vibration of the bladed jig. A hard charging bass will stop the vibration, which immediately clues you into catching up to the fish and setting the hook!
@msfishing277826 күн бұрын
Awesome video!! My next rod will be that Expride for sure but in the meantime I'm using a Megabass levante perfect pitch and I find it has a nice deep bend! Tight lines

My Chatterbait rod is a Lew's Custom Speed Stick Topwater Special (6' 8" medium moderate fast 1/4-3/4oz). I primarily run the bank target fishing.

The Tatula glass rod is a fantastic value. I primarily use it for heavier Jackhammers. You mentioned maybe a bigger reel, I have a Tatula 150 on mine, perfect match. I have an IMX Pro 7'2" Med BJR, you guys should consider carrying that rod. The multi-taper gives it a fast tip with a parabolic bend when loaded. The action looks very similar to the NRX. I also like the Randy Howell Tatula Elite 7'4" Regular and the Megabass Orochi Diablo for chatterbaits. Omnia - you guys are fantastic, keep up the good work on the videos and great customer service. Seth is my favorite pro, love his videos and gear recommendations!

I think Thrift was the first major pro to win on a chatterbait, Hite took it to another level. It’s weird that they couldn’t be further away from each other on the type of rod they like for it, Thrift is graphite and B-Hite is glass. Both have had major success. I love the BLX 7’4” LG, it makes for a great lipless rod as well. The Rebellion 6’10” is also a great chatterbait rod for close quarters throwing in and around cypress trees. Curious to see how the new 6’10” and 7’3” Zillions with flex lite stack up to some of these rods. Thank you for putting rod weights in this video, it is truly appreciated. Wish everyone would do that.

I have been using that rod for the last year and have no complaints! Super light and sensitive. Slow enough to let the fish get the bait and has enough power to fight some decent size fish. I have given this rod every opportunity to disappoint me and it has yet to do so.

One technique I’m still looking for a unicorn rod for. I do not like the way glass rods feel at all so that knocks out almost all of the list, and was never a fan of how noodly the 883c BJR is. I ideally want something that’s more of a MH+/ light side of heavy power rod. The Conquest 904c is probably exactly what I’m looking for but boy that $800 price tag is nuts

I've been needing one of this rod's. But need one around $100 small budget. Need fiberglass rod- heavy power moderate fast Action. I've been looking at 6'.6" or shorter I'm not tall. I'll be running the 1/8oz to 5/8oz so I need more than one. Medium to heavy rod's

Goodness how in the world didn't the St. Croix legend tournament 7'2H Rip-n-Chatter composite glass rod weighing in at like 4.5oz not make it on this vid? I truly own every single rod in this video. And I bought all of these including more in search of the perfect Chaterbait rod. And I will say hands down the St Croix Rip-n-chatter is the best one for all around. It is soft enough to fish easily and open water. And strong enough to fish in heavy vegetation. And fast enough to snap off weeds when your bait gets gummed up without snatching the rod. I'm mind blown that, that rod is not in this video. It is an absolute gem. I have literally over $7,000 of "bladed jig" spec rods. Even odd ball rods many ppl don't even know about like Kk bladed rod or Savage gear glass bladed jig etc.

I have been thinking about trying it for chatterbaits. After seeing these weights shared, it’s incredible to me that a composite rod for $80 weighs 4.6oz, even if it’s a little underpowered.

@jimbo041110 ай бұрын
Usually a crank bait rod is softer more forgiving even though its parabolic it not good for a single heavy hook penetration. You need parabolic but powerful down mid and lower blank to pop from grass. Graphite cranks if its stiffer more powerful may work but you cant have it whippy.

If someone wants sensitive just get a extra extra fast Action rod and don't mess around with the rest of them it's like a stick straight up hard. I don't see the point of people wanting it in every rod. Don't understand that is it a fade or something ⁉️ I say good for one thing not the other thing right. Just thinking.
