The Nrx is and will be the epitome of jig rods. It's the gold standard that all other companies base their rods off of.

844 mbr is my all time favorite rod! I do everything with it.

My Chatterbait rod is a Lew's Custom Speed Stick Topwater Special (6' 8" medium moderate fast 1/4-3/4oz). I primarily run the bank target fishing.

I think you need to add a value rod like the BFS Rods from Major Craft. I have had a couple of these rods and they are exceptional.

I've got news for you. These 11 lb. drags Daiwa is putting on these new reels are crap. PERIOD!

I have over the years obtained to many rods. My goal is to get down to five rods. I'm down to eight and can't seem to find a multi use spinnerbait rod that can do what my dedicated rod does. Same with my drop shot

The comment about daiwa on a g loomis lol. I feel that so hard, use to be a purist when it comes to daiwa on daiwa, Shimano on Shimano but stop caring. And started mixing it up too. Some of the combos just flat out work and feel good!

Great review of your rods. Could not agree more with your choice of G Loomis 843 and 844. Two of my favorite rods of all time. From swim jigs to flipping jigs, from spinnerbaits to chatterbaits. Top water to buzzbaits. These two can do almost everything.

Love this one Pete...Madbull is one of my all time favorites...I have a chrome showerblows 105 tied on the deck right this second. You should check out that new X10 Orochi Bandersnatch...it's just like the madbull but just a touch more moderate...recent addition I have enjoyed.

My favorite rod of this year was the Chris Johnston Hairjig rod. I think about that rod when I go to bed. It probably doesn’t think about me.

Thanks for a fun and interesting video. I tend to go versatile also. But being I fish a lot of creeks and rivers go with a shorter rods for those applications and when I go to lakes and rivers where I can cast freely go with longer lengths. Thanks and have a great weekend!

🤔 How do you not include the several Fitzgerald Fishing rods that are insanely good? They literally make a Flipping Jig rod but so many of their rods are so perfect for jigs, flipping, swimming, ledge fishing, football jigs . . . 🤷‍♂️

Do not do an overhand knot on the fluoro, this will be the thickest part of the knot and defeats the purpose of the FG. Instead do a Rizzuto finish, or just tension the knot properly after laying down the first half hitch.

Heard these reels cast a mile

This is coming from a guy that uses all megabass and Shimano. I know IROD gets looked down at but I have there 7’10” bama rig special it is actually an amazing rod. It’s 7’10” heavy mod fast 1-4 oz lure rating but the weight of the rod is why it’s special it only weighs 3.9 oz. It has enough power to flip and punch and I have even caught glid bait fish on it.

That 7'9" zillion is the perfect Bobby Barrack style frog rod but for really heavy cover instead of more open water like his frog rod. The short handle makes that particular type of cast easy, loads deep enough to keep them on and strong enough to drag them out of anything.
