Hi Neil, I am a new salesman at a tractor dealer in Minnesota. I have watched a lot of your videos to gain product knowledge. There is not much information or training available in this industry. I thank you for helping me pass the learning curve and be able to answer my customers questions. You’re a great salesman and I hope to be just as good as you in the distant future!

Neil, you have the absolute best product knowledge videos. If I were in the market for a tractor and/or tractor implement and was within 3-4 hours from Mount Joy I would be a Kubota buyer. Dealer knowledge, capability and support can not be over stated.

Neil, I stopped into the Mount Joy store last Saturday and was hoping to see you. I live in Northern Utah and was visiting PA and had 30 minutes to drop in. Don approached me and asked if I needed help and I told him what I was up to. He then proceeded to show me around the whole store, parts, service, shipping & receiving and I am so impressed. I have watched your videos for some time and have seen that new location on film and it was even more impressive in person. I am please to say that I am now a proud wearer of a fancy Messicks hat and really enjoyed my time there with Don. Wish I could have talked with you, but still happy I made the time to visit. Keep up the good work. I love the videos.

Neil for a implement I’d take a shear bolt or shear pin for rotary cutters tillers or snowblowers cause a shear pin or shear bolt won’t twist a pto shaft vs a slip clutch once it’s over tensioned or slipping it can catch the grass or tractor on fire or make the bearings fail the first time I experienced a shear pin or shear bolt was from a hockey puck in my snowblower I became a believer of the protection from that day
@donaldstrishock3923
@donaldstrishock3923 8 ай бұрын
Might be good to have both. A properly "graded" shear-bolt ALWAYS WORKS.....but maybe TOO Good & TOO Often! A Slip clutch HAS To Be ADJUSTED almost Daily/ even for the same job from one day to the next, BUT they Work GREAT when properly adjusted. A "Slip-clutch" can be "locked-up,frozen,rusted-into-place,in dis-repair",or just NOT adjusted properly. This "PURE-LOCK-UP" can lead to CATISTROFIC Failures.

Back in 2001, my local Kubota sale rep underestimated my intended tractor needs. It was my first tractor and I did not express my anticipated activities well enough. He sold me a B2910 (which was a good machine) with a Woods BH7500 backhoe, Land Pride rake, and back blade. I was reworking my 1 acre lot, moving lots of large boulders and hard pack NH soil. Within 3 years, the transmission developed problems. He upgraded me to an L3130 but keeping the same implements. Each of them wore out due to the larger tractor. Over the years I needed to replace each of the implements and went to the largest/strongest ones that appropriately would fit on my L3130. That was such a difference! The latest to be replaced was the backhoe. Because when I got the L3130 and reused the backhoe, the Woods subframe was added by the dealer. When it came time to replace the BH7500, the Woods BH75 was the obvious choice. I would have liked the BH80-X, but it had just been discontinued. Yes, it is very important to size the implements to the size of the tractor AND the intended uses.

He is going to tell you exactly what that dealer wants you to hear. Remember he is an owner in that dealer. I have an MX 5200 and really enjoy my attachments from EA, Everything Attachment . They build things heavy, for abuse, and to last. Ad a comparison, my EA box blade has 6 rippers, compared to land prides 5. And it was less money, with way more quality. Shop around, not at the dealers. KZbin will guide you in the right direction. None of my implements come from the Kubota dealer. Good Luck.

I got a MX5200 a few years back and have been limping my very old Ford 60” shredder along. After 40 years the deck is rusting through and it’s time to get a newer used one. I will say these implements are very expensive considering the occasional use they get (for me at least). I only shred twice a year as they’re grazing pastures (only 6 acres).

You mentions someyhing about slip clutches on implements. I bought a nee tiller for my kubota bx1880. Its designed for 12-20pto hp, so it just bately within the capabilities of my bx. I will still be really careful. My question about another comment you made one time about manualy slipping the sip clutch to ensure that its working properly so you dont damage implement/tractor. Could you tell.me whete to find a video you made to explain the procedure? I mentioned thod to my dealer and he was dumbfounded. That tech had no.cluecas to what I was talking about. Ty.

Your last line about walking around the yard with the customer to show the differences between implements is exactly right. But what do you do when your local dealer barely stocks anything? It's so difficult comparing implements within a company's line up (they don't divulge a lot of info publicly) let alone trying to find equivalents BETWEEN companies' implements to find the better value. Does a comparison website exist?

Try factory add-ons. My dealer didn't discuss with me the available options when buying equipment. I had to look up what was available on the Kubota website, then address with the dealer. I thought that was a bit odd. I don't view it as an "up-sell". If you're going to finance, you may as well get the options you want, like third function and rear remotes.

Neil, I have a LX4020 19.5"R-14 tires and a Land pride RB2672 rear blade with hydralic angle. Tractor manual says 60" max. If I put on rear extension plates on the tractor for more clearance for chains the blade angle cut barely clears the tire track. Do you think my 40 hp model tractor can handle a RB 2684 model blade?

I've used a BH brand 96" blade on the back of a L3540. It works depending on how much material you move. You could always take smaller bites. Tractor had no problem lifting the blade of course. I found when you move the blade out to the side and angle it, you pretty much need one that size in order to have reach.

I was under sold on my box blade because it should have been the next size up to cover my tire width. They over sold me on my forks because my tractor can only lift less than half the capacity (or just under the capacity of the next size down).
@MessicksEquip

It's typical to do that with forks. You want a single fork over the total possible capacity of the loader. A 500lb loader often gets 2000lb forks.
