They put some things they find in the barn chest, you'll find things like stone, wood, raw food, etc. in the chest. They usually put the harvested crops to the chest nearest to the farm.

You need wheatgrass and a haystack in the animal pen to turn it into a paddock. If you put a resident sign in too, and set it as the animals room with a pet bed, they’ll sleep in there. Put a light source next to the pet bed and then they’ll be protected from ghosts at night. This works for all animals.

But btw the visuals have nothing to do with gameplay and the TRUE minecraft game (pc version) has unlimited mods that improve visuals and you can virtually create any other game that can be accessed through in game portals. This game is an extremly outdated version of minecraft that locks you on a 3rd person prespective. Its an ok game at best.
