SA struggled vs USA which is embrassing and against Nepal. Rashid Khan is the captain of the tournament. This Afghan team reminds me so much of ‘83 World Cup winning team from India. Rashid is leading by example with both ball and bat. His planning with coach Trott and Bravo is awesome and shows his insight into the game. I believe Afghans can beat South Africa especially since it is in Tarouba, Trinidad where the pitch will favour Afghanistan. Common Afghanistan!

Reserve time is there...250 minutes of reserve time is there for both semifinals. For the first semifinal, the 250 minutes is on the next day whereas for the second final, the reserve time is on the same day. Ind vs ENG is at 10:30 am local time.

So who will reach the final? Lets look at some stats/facts. Semi-1 : Night game - SA v Afg 1. Afghanistan have won every single match in which they have batted 1st. 2. Against Test opposition, Afg have been hammered each time they have batted 2nd. 3. SA have won every game. So, the team winning the toss will want to bat 1st. If Afg bat 1st, its an even chance, with Afg having the upper hand. If SA bat 1st, then SA WILL WIN. Semi-2 : Day Game - Ind v Eng 1. No chasing team has won a Day-Game against a Test team (in the Caribbean). Therefore, whoever bats 1st, will win. And that, would be India, because If India win the toss, they will choose to bat first, but, If England win the toss, they will do as Mottler have done throughout, bowl 1st (and lose). Atherton and Nasser, There is no way India would have known that they will qualify for the Guyana stadium. It could have been any team... I agree that it could have been night games for both semifinals... But, saying that India knew that they would be in Guyana is outrageous. This makes me feel that, most cricket teams are out there to get India just because they have the financial part covered. So, instead of trying to blame the BCCI, why dont you take a look at ECB and acknowledge that you have mistreated all Asian teams before the financial clout shifted. I respect you both a lot... It would serve well if you can stick to the quality of cricket rather than stirring up stories.

Disagree. India know they are one of the top sides so would likely make it to the semis. Prior to the tournament it was decided that of india made a semi whether 1st or 2nd in group it would b in Guyana. So it was set up beforehand and clearly Guyana is a pitch that is more suited to india than englamd if we get a game

I think the format is shocking. Having seeded super 8 groups is ridiculous, it should be done on merit i.e 2 group winners joined by the 2 runners up. This tournament has given fixing vibes (not suggesting any match fixing) but feels like they’re giving the likes of India an advantage because they are India. Athers’ comments about cramming the fixtures in at the end is spot on too.

How can be both these experts be so off the mark? What is their expertise? They have totally ignored present playing conditions including pitch/weather and opposition and couldn't gotten over the Adelaide hangover. India have crushed England by 68 runs in a totally one-sided semifinal. Mike also alluded favouritism of ICC towards India. Because we had a full game the issue of rest day resolves itself as being without significance. The toss was won by England and the pitch wasn't a crumbling cookie. Truth is both overestimated England's capabilities.

Hi Nass and Athers - Seen you guys playing spectacularly well for England over my growing years. Dont just bye pass mere an Indian cricket fan commenting in favour of India. It is not gonna be Adelaide again, India did not have Bumrah then or India is no longer timid in their batting approach. Like Ahmedabad's due was settled, it is now England's Adelaide due to be settled. England dont fear India, agreed but neither does India. England's success depends on Adil Rashid but India does have potent in the names of Pant and Dube. I believe India will approach Adil in parlance with Zampa (you know what happened to him in last game). If India wins it will not be hard fought but England it is gonna be very hard fought one.
