Marycarl, we have a male cockatiel that is 32 years old!! He does talk and his favorite phrase is Here kitty, kitty kitty. We did not teach him that, he picked it up from hearing us call the cat. It's so funny to hear a bird calling a kitty over and over.

MC you’ve done an excellent job on the editing! Loved seeing your birds! 35 yrs ago I raised Zebra & Society finches (at peak I had 80 of them, as they breed like rabbits!) & also had a gray cheek parakeet. I found homes for all of them, as I had gotten a Norwegian Fjord pony (who was pregnant) & was boarding her at my friends farm, where I moved to. My friend had house cats and thought it better to find homes for the birds, rather than expose them to the cats. This past May my friend who had introduced me to birds all those years ago, had raised canaries & parakeets with his family. They were down to their last parakeet & asked if I would take Uno into our home & keep him & my husband & I agreed. We got him a companion (Star) & a much bigger cage, as neither were hand raised & trained. I love the 2 of them chatting throughout the day & realize that I did miss having birds. I’m hoping that over time I can build the trust up with them to hand train. I’m not planning on raising offspring, I just want to enjoy these two & watch their antics. I’m so looking forward to this new adventure with you & your mom, having no doubt you will be very successful with it!

What a perfect name! “The Ladies of Cog Hill” MaryCarl seems so intelligent that I wonder if her unhappiness at school wasn’t boredom and lack of intellectual stimulation. Happened with my oldest son. If smart kids don’t get challenged by learning, they soon become bored and unhappy at school. MaryCarl, we had a Mexican double yellow head and a Moluccan. When we moved into a development from our small farm, we had to give our birds away as they were too noisy to live in a neighborhood. The neighbors would have heard their screeching and called the police thinking someone was being hurt. I really miss them. 😢

@brenda91402 жыл бұрын
⚘I like the name too, but, who knows, Brooke has started Her new channel For Women and By A Woman, and as much as she may like it, she has specific ideas on how she wants Her channel to look and sound. Her naming her own channel is important to her. She told us that in her first video, and also that the name was only temporary. She made it very clear that she is not Jason, and that sometimes she has her own thoughts and ideas as does he and that Jason was not having anything to do with her channel, because he has had his own channel and it still will be his own channel. She wants the whole thing to be her and MaryCarl's baby. I am looking forward to kicking back and chilling, and enjoy watching Brooke slowly unfold what she has in store for her channel and all of us. This is going to be fun and with what I know of Brooke,........well, I can't wait for it all to begin ❣
@nancyhowell77352 жыл бұрын
@@brenda9140 But, Jason was the one who gave the temporary name and then changed it before Brooke knew about it. Does that mean this is the official name or is Brooke still looking? I think those of us who said we liked the Ladies…, were only stating an opinion based on what said she and MaryCarl wanted.

Firstly, thank you so much for introducing yourselves to us via the new channel. A pleasure to meet you both! Civility is such an attractive quality to possess, I do believe it blossoms in abundance at the Coghill 40! Ms CH, and Miss CH, well done on your first video release. Good editing MaryCarl on your first video, it has been an interesting journey watching your dad grow in his editing technique, I have no doubt the same will happen for you MC, you are surrounded by good teachers. Your daughter Brooke and Jason is an absolute credit to you both! If that young lady does not become a professional Ornithologist I will be surprised. We remember when the decision was made to Home School, clearly the right decision in this young girl's case. What I see is an intelligent, articulate, and confident 12-year-old, her future looks bright, especially where birds are concerned, but then, we may still all end up surprised, while keeping her passion for birds, who is to say this young girl will not make her mark elsewhere in the future!

I discovered Cog Hill when I was searching how to care for chickens- so Marycarl is my go-to expert! We ended up with Peacocks when the next door neighbor bought some, but didn't feed them. We did feed them so they just stayed at our place. I'm working on building my own aviary/coop to protect them (and the chickens) from the coyotes. I'm excited to see your aviary more so I can learn and get ideas! I hope you'll include some chicken info along the way! Brooke - I started my own garden from watching your channel, so if you include some recipes you like - to use up what you grow - that would be an excellent addition to the channel!
