That's hilarious, cuz I'm a dog and my sister is a dragon, but we get along very well. :P That's probably because we cultivated the relationship for years. She can be very hotheaded and intimidating, so there is a chance we wouldn't be friends if we hadn't grown up together and are related. My husband is a rat, which makes our compatibility very good, according to multiple sources. Funny, cuz in the western zodiac, we're highly compatible (me -- Taurus; him -- Virgo). ^_^ The zodiac and anything astrological has always fascinated me and I turn to it sometimes when I seek answers.

The thing I have always wondered (after studying numerous zodiac placemats at Chinese restaurants, lol) is why one is supposedly most compatible with people born several years before or after you. In real life, most people end up with someone fairly close in age

Back in ancient China marriages were mostly arranged affairs and family connections and social background were the most important factors behind them. Then it was pretty common, that the family of a young girl would look to marry her to someone older who had already established himself in life, over the neighbour's young son who had achieved nothing so far. So most married couples would have had bigger age differences than people have today. Then looking around and seeing that was how most married couples were, ancient people would have assumed, that clearly these kind of pairings were the most compatible ones.

I am a pig and I adore rabbits. Dragons are energetic and fun for me. Tigers seem to be very good friends. Sheep are extremely interesting and I admire them. Snakes I am told to be careful with but I have met snakes that were very fun, nurturing and loving. Horses are a bit too robust for me and sometimes out of my league. But they are certainly wonderful to behold. Monkeys, the pig is told to stay away from but I have found them to be so intelligent and fun-loving. Dogs I find to be the salt of the earth and very stable. Rats can really put on a show in my experience. Pigs are great but too much the same as me. I like a little variation. but they are usually trustworthy. Cows are very stable and leaders. Chickens are so orderly and respectable. Also very smart and fun.

I find this interesting, since, unlike the Western Zodiac, the Chinese Zodiac assigns everyone born in the same year the same symbol. It also assigns you 'compatible' relationships with people older and younger than you, and often says you would be incompatible with people of your own age (like my boyfriend and I, both Dragons). Wouldn't it make more sense to be compatible with people of your own age, or at least somewhat close?

I'm a Metal Monkey element and there is nothing to worry about. My grandfather was a Fire Tiger and we got along great. However he was the only Tiger I liked and respected. The arsehole ones however, you can outsmart them with your speed and wit. The Monkeys are like the Mini Cooper car and the Tigers are like a long bus! If you have seen the original 1969 "The Italian Job" with Michael Cain in it, you will see what I mean. I’m an Ox. The strongest connections I have tend to be with the Snakes, Roosters, Rats, and Pigs. The Rabbits have been okay. The absolute worst have been Horses. Now my father was born in the year of Rooster and he ditched all of us when I was very young. He wanted to come back in my life when I was just 12 and I told him that I don't have a dad and I disowned him. Seriously what kind of a man disowns his kids when they are toddlers only to try and link up with them again when they reach working age? I do pity those born in the Rooster years because they haven't a clue on life responsibilities and they like to shun all blame onto someone else for their fuck ups. They are just weak little bitches that like to play mind games with other people. I went out with one for a while in 2004 and she was just like my dad. Another player and it is really no surprise as to why Roosters are mainly loners in life and they bring it onto themselves. They deserve it to be honest :).

I know a few tigers yet, I had terrible experience getting most of them to talk to me (not all tigers are social rejects though and one tiger girl was like really cool). As a snake, my relationship with pigs are a hit or miss, some are b**ches or a**holes, others are cool (like my hardworking buddy Stacy who's married, though I believe that more pigs should be cool like her). I just wonder why dragons and roosters can get along so nicely, considering their history. Or maybe roosters are just super nice to dragons in a very long-term scheme to get them to let their guard down so they can snatch their antlers back when they least suspect it, then tear off like heck.

My father is a dog as am I, my mother is a rooster, my sister is a goat, and my brother is a dragon. My parents are separated and I truly wonder why? Lol not really. Don't western and Chinese zodiacs mesh together to form a unique analysis of personality? A full natal chart would explain in detail right? I am a Pisces-Aries cusper (Cusp Of Rebirth), sun in Pisces and moon in Gemini, chinese zodiac is the Dog. My father is a Cancer-Leo cusp Dog My mother is a Leo rooster My sister is a Taurus Goat And my brother is a Virgo Dragon Not sure about other siblings since we don't really keep in touch with everyone. I just keep in touch with the siblings I grew up with. Edit: My best friend was a Libra-Scorpio cusp rooster, sadly she passed away but I still keep her alive in my thoughts.
