not trying to be mean but the spiral was not good, her supporting knee is bent and her upper body isn’t in the right position along with her arms. yes the extension is good but she should work on good form before trying to overextend.

I only started watching her a while ago but I think she's quite beginner still, it's probably much better than used to be and will get better in some time.

As someone who has ice skated for 12 years and works as a first aider in an ice rink. Please start with forward skating at low speed and go from there it’s nothing like walking until you are used to it

That's very true! I remember I went ice skating with two of my friends, and one of them had figure skates and the other had hockey skates. We tried doing a bunch of figure skating tricks. Then my friends traded skates for a while and the one with figure skates was finally able to do a waltz jump! 😅

Fun fact, figure skates are more dull compared to hockey skates, therefore they don’t generate as much speed and can’t stop as quickly (as seen in the video). Hockey skates are also heavier and are made so you can gain speed and momentum, while figure skates are lighter and are easier to do spins and jumps

Hockey players have to have more control over their jagged movements, so he was obviously better at the hockey stop. It's essential to be able to stop really fast and turn around to print to the other side of the ice

Disagree. The hockey player looks like he has been on ice for his entire life. Thus, he is confident in his motions and weight transfer, allowing him to pull crisp manuevers and get a lot of acceleration. The figure skater is not very confident in anything she does because she has been doing it for only 2 years and started as an adult, which is difficult. There isn't much force behind her motions and her focus is mainly on maintaining balance. If you look at an elite figure skater, the strength and precision is there.
