Now this is an eye opener. After watching a ton of burgeon videos by other people, I was under the impression that Thoma is the only viable burgeon driver for a team with just dendro, pyro and hydro. Good to know that Klee and Yanfei also work perfectly.

honestly, it has a lot to do with baizhu being a true off-field dendro healer (+ shield for anti-interrupts) as already brought up in his previous nilou video, the previous alternative, who was yaoyao, had plenty of limitations that would seriously limit other non-thoma burgeon teams (i.e. limited range of heals from E, and/or needs to be on-field for a bit if Q), which were non-issues with thoma due to his pyro being able to be triggered off-field by teammates + shield

Actually I love the Yanfei variation (I use kazuha CC because the bloom self damage is not much) for lower world levels, and even clears the spiral abyss with that.

As a Diluc burgeon enjoyer, I just gonna put my two cents here. For Diluc Burgeon, you actually don't need to use his burst, it just slows him down. His E alone is more than enough to explode those seeds quickly.

Yanfei damage here is low because her kit is focused on CA. Also xq hydro is not applied by CA. This is the reason why my burgeon yanfei does not work using wanderer set and enemies are always burning : ( Need to change artifacts and gameplay.

Maybe but most likely not. The more CA used, the less xingqiu burst ticks, the more vape damage but also the higher chance of triggering burning resulting loss of burgeons. So yeah, since they are built for full EM burgeon, the CA and burst will very likely just slow them down.

Even in speedrun it's only a few sec behind the no 1 team I don't know what are you talking about 😂 In casual play it's really easy since the ER requiement is really low and mono pyro characters is just very strong individually.

Thoma has the luxury to be used off field while triggering burgeon. So you're better off using hydro/dendro unit as onfield driver (like Ayato, Haitham, Nahida), instead of forcing him to do PHYSICAL attacks while on full EM build which is not optimal.

The advantage with Yanfei is you can trigger burgeon at longer ranges. But sometimes you will need to use her skills and CA since her normal attacks don’t always hit the cores. Yanfei feels smoother to play with on 1v1 scenarios while Klee feels better in AOE combat. Both of them however can do well in either scenarios. Don’t worry about burning. XQ/Yelan’s can outrun their projectiles.

If you use the normal rotation for Yanfei the enemy s aura only get Pyro after some seconds. On the other side the na does not hit all the cores and also her ability is not focused on na. The solution is to spare less CA. The best scenario should be a fixed Dehya with a smaller icd on E , em scaling so you can use Candace infusion and be on field as main dps.

That is only true for regular dps. Burgeon needs more work since the auras needs to be in sync. Dendro has to be the stronger application and keep being refreshed, Hydro needs to be the second strongest so you make a lot of cores, pyro needs aoe to be effective but also needs to be weak applicatior to avoid taking place in the reaction. So the most optimal is 2 Dendro, 1 hydro 1 pyro. Where the hydro has to be off field strong application and pyro can't CA or burst for consistency. Also being at long range is a bit weird since you want everyone close together for the aoe, but I guess Yanfei works at range if you fighting single target or don't have Baizhu.

just a heads up to everyone, em thoma can work if you have fav users on the team. for example, if you took xq and gave him a normal build of er/hydro/crit rate with fav, and then had either nahida or baizhu with fav (or even baizhu on prototype amber) then it should be fine. works fine for me at least.

Prototype Amber doesn't regenerate energy for the whole team! It's only for the character that has it equipped.

And it works best with Thoma coz he doesn't need to be driver. Just keep switching to fave users whenever the weapon cool down is over and your energy issue will be resolved.

It looks like currently, the top 5 Burgeon drivers, from best to worst, are Klee, Thoma, Yanfei, Bennett, and Hu Tao. Thanks! This helps. Burgeon teams aren't quite meta yet because their reactions are Bloom, Burgeon, Vape (Reverse Vape), and Burning which don't quite coincide with any specific DPS character's innate skill set... yet. But Knowing that some characters got buffed by Baizhu and Nahida is definitely informative.

A few thing to note: 1. His Xq is C6, which gives 1 extra hydro app every 3 NA. While losing 1 hydro app is not detrimental for most burgeon carry. Characters who has broken ICD (e.g. Xiangling) might not get their Dendro cores due to his swords having hard time extinguishing burning aura. 2. There's an archetype where Xinyan burgeon is actually viable called Mona Dance Team. This team abuse Mona's ability to apply hydro and dodging at the same time (dash spam). Tho this team's rotation is very hard to execute without Xinyan's C2 or Sacrificial greatsword at high refonement. Cmiiw

The tests are as is. But what one must realize is that when you use thoma, dehya, xinyan, xiangling and other off-fielders, one would be using main-dps nahida which would make more blooms with xingqiu. And still, the test is as is since it considers main dps pyro. :)

also, kinda worth noting that catalyst/polearm users have more damage since they can equip weapons with higher EM at 265 (nahida signature) or 221 (sacfrags, dragon's bane) compared to sword, claymore or bow which is usally capped at 165 for usual EM weapons (187 for bloodtained greatsword, 198 for freedom sworn). also, sword users can have more EM from the passive of key of khaj nisut if fully stacked more than any other weapon even if you don't build that much hp

I think you have to adapt the builds a little bit more, since Thoma can use the Inazuma lance and switch Nahida to fav code to have a better uptime in his burst. Yanfei can also detonate seeds in AoE using charge attacks, for example.

She feels horrible to play, but other than that her teams are actually damn competent, there hasn't been a single abyss i couldn't beat with monopyro, and at least my monopyro performs similar than international with just a couple seconds of difference, not to mention klee is a good burgeon driver since she doesn't need energy, more than that she's a battery she can actually give energy to the team with her 2 skills and then her CA that replenish 2 energy to all party members, she's a damn decent unit, is just that, there are better options for certain teams (not even THAT better, but easier to play that's true) and the fact that she's an old and clunky unit, no one wants to play the older units everyone want to try the new units and new teams. she performs: better than diluc and any other pyro dps that isn't xiangling or hu tao (just on single target though), she performs better than eula, performs better than itto if no c6 gorou which nowadays is normal since gorou only appears on itto banners, performs quite better than xiao if no c6 faruzan which again is very common, and the list goes on, klee monopyro is a very solid team, performing like 60k per CA that does aoe, has no energy issues, jumpy dumpty does more total dmg than the CA, and kazuha makes those bombs explode, so yeah i would say klee's actually quite meta, the fact that ppl don't play her doesn't mean she performs bad, but mihoyo totally did her dirty with her gameplay though, u have to jump, animation cancel, stun lock the enemies, large etc

Great video! I've been playing Klee burgeon since 3.0 but didn't see her draw as much attention as she should 👍 Honestly your testing looks a little bit flawed (or that's what it looks like on this video), because both rotations and enemies positions change a bit for each run, so the timings of each character may be somewhat better if the conditions were always the exact same (yeah, this is kind off impossible to do in real gameplay). Having said that, i agree with your results and, while every character can almost do the same damage overal (adjusting the whole team for energy needs), Klee is in my "most objective opinion" the best character for burgeon right now. Not only she is easy to use (thanks to her AoE), has no energy needs nor needs rotation timings, and can do a charged attack if some blooms are far away, but also her "Sparkling Burst" passive can grant a lot of energy to the whole team. In my usual rotations i get about 10~12 energy from it, doing 1 charged every 2 normals, so she is great for a team with Baizhu and Xinqiu. And yep, she needs some crit rate for this to work, but mine goes with just a crit circlet and some nice substats and works just fine, so it shouldn't be so hard to do. Also some vapes every now and then won't lower your dps. Alright, i'm writing a lot already, take care and keep it up ✌

For Dehya, one of the problems on putting her in Burgeon team is that her skill's Pyro application is different based on the enemies' height.. For mobs, it is fine but for even a ruin guard, most of the time it won't trigger the blooms on the ground.. Even on mobs, another problem was the 2.5 second proc of Pyro in her skill.. Even Thoma was better than her.. >.

Guess her unintentional swap/jump in her burst has some utility after all 😂

One thing to keep in mind with her burst: The less you click the left mouse button, the fewer attacks she makes. Normally, that's a "Why would you want to do that?" thing, but for a burgeon team, it can let you stay in her burst, but reduce the amount of pyro application. Of course, she still won't work with Xingqiu or Yelan during said burst.

There is a middle ground for thoma, being that he uses a kitain cross spear to provide both em and energy, as well as fishing for er substats on the EM peices, and making sure to have baizhu on prototype amber and xq on fav. With that, you dont sacrifice much em (can easily sit around 800+) but you also get good energy sustainability.

I have been using burgeon Klee for a while. The earliest record I have was of last November on floor 12, I nine stared. I used Zhongli, Klee, XQ, Nahida. I use Crimson witch 4p with EM, EM, EM. I thought 40% burning and burgeon damage bonus of CW would be better than gilded due diminishing return of having excess EM. Now that I got Baizhu and an extra thousand dreams, I tried Nahida, Klee, XQ, Baizhu on second part of floor 12. This comp took twice as long than my Nilou comp. I guess I should after all use Gilded on Klee. Edit: So I just tested both set on 12.1.1; with C2 Nahida highest burgeon damage I saw with Gilded was 48046 and with CW 47914. Gilded took 1:11min and CW 1:20min to clear. in both case Nahida had 942EM; KIee had 1111 base EM with Gilded and 982 with CW. But at the peak of rotation Gilded had 633.4% burgeon damage due to EM and CW had 623%. So I thought 40% from 4p CW would be added to 623% plus there is pyro damage from 2p. I guess $hit ton of EM from Gilded still edges out🤔.

I have calculated in my Baizhu video that even with 1000 EM, Gilded dreams set still gives more burgeon or hyperbloom damage than Crimson or Thundering Fury, but not by much, only around 40k vs 42k. However, farming for gilded dreams domain won't hurt, because you can also get better deepwood for Nahida or maybe other character. In my case, I had to equip deepwood on my Xingqiu in a team without Nahida..

@GenshinDPSCalc True Gilded domain is more resin efficient. But in my case, it was the opposite. I had farmed Crimson domain for Diluc, Klee and HuTao, so I already had all the EM pieces I needed. But it's nice that Klee works well with burgeon. Back then, I had to learn machine-gun and I believe it was called Kite mechanics to use Klee adequately. I still use N3C with walk cancel.

XL should probably have AOE hydro application in the test because her pyro application is so strong (in fact it's the strongest out of all pyros) that she overtakes the bloom application and instead applies burning. She isn't the best choice for Burgeon anyway. As for the others you didn't include (no mention of Amber, can't blame you though lol), Xinyan might want Zhongli instead, but I'm not a hundred percent sure how shield stacking functions, and if the order in which you do the shields determines which one takes the damage. Yoimiya wouldn't work, I'll hand it to you. Dehya can have burgeon teams without XQ, just plop an off-field AOE hydro application talent and it'll give you some seeds to burgeon. Granted she won't be too good, but it would have been interesting to see. This wasn't really an exhaustive test, but it had some useful results nonetheless. Thanks.

Multiple shields do not stack unfortunately, so if you have 2 shields, the attack will damage both shields simultaneously, so it would still break Xinyan's shield.. I hate this mechanic since they revealed it in a developer notes way back then.. this also makes crystallize shields pretty much useless, because they don't stack on top of our other shield...

I used a bit of a weird yanfei burgeon for this abyss, tried a yanfei-xq-nahida-diona. Most probably not the optimal choice but diona froze the hydro enemies and did not let me die, the others obliterated the enemies. Im not a meta player, didnt expect 36* in abyss and im used to yanfei main dps so i used also CA and her burst - it worked just fine for me! For low-budget F2P players i really recommend it! I didnt even have the optimal built on everyone since yanfei was on WT and widsith

I think the only hope for Yoimiya burgeon is to use her burst in the rotation. I've seen some videos showcasing this, and they seem to have done at least decently (though still naturally single target oriented, due to the way her burst mark functions). It helps that the burst is tied to off-field/party member damage, encouraging units like Fischl, Nahida, Xingqiu and others while also giving them an ATK buff from Yoi's A4 in return.

You should use Childe as the one field character. He is the only hydro able to prevent burning in multitarget scenario and this change everything. This is by far the best burgeon team i tested. The combo for multitarget is just spam NA and for single target this is N1C (necessary for preventing burning because riptide is slower to proc in single target) This is also very easy to use if your Thomas is c4 and he uses r5 Kitain crosspear. You can basically use a 980EM build with 135 ER and its gonna run smooth like butter.

Childe is amazing in burgeon cause you have to prevent burning to allow burgeon to shine and he is the only one good at applying aoe hydro faster than every 1s fir both vaping the burning away and creating seeds. In Hyperbloom Childe does not have anything special and worse since he disrupt sometimes the dendro aura by eating it too fast. Baizhu or Nahida are far more effective

You missed Sautee teams with Kazuha. Use Bennett, Xinqiu, Nahida and Kazuha, Kazuha swirling pyro will trigger them and give him ownership of the seeds.

This is to be expected. Xiangling is not the best for burgeon teams because of her no-ICD in pyronado. In normal national teams, that no-ICD is welcomed to vape every hit, but in burgeon team, that's too much pyro application for bloom to happen

Would using Charged attacks improve the time, especially for Yanfei? I imagine you intentionally didn't use them, but they are a big part of Yanfei's kit

It's because every time you use charge attack, it slightly delays the Xingqiu's hydro application, so you'll end up getting less dendro cores.

@@MakinItRain24-7 charged atk is less good because burgeonning effectiveness is better the less pyro is applyed. Thats why Thimas and klee are the fastest. Klee NA are slow and Thomas application speed is once every 3s

Perfectly fine, no significant difference actually with that much EM already from the artifact set. It's just that Sac fragments sometimes reset her elemental skill once in a while.

Are those builds doable without Baizhu? Could replace with YaoYao healing or Zhongli shielding?

Yes you can do with full HP build Zhongli without much damage loss! But as long as you're not fighting the doggos with corrosion mechanic! For Yaoyao, it's hard because her healing is not enough and you have to stay near the rabbit to get the healing..

Sorry I just tested against single target boss with Zhongli it turns out it doesn't have enough dendro application without Baizhu, so it's not really good :/ For multiple enemies though it seems fine with Zhongli.

What is the clear time if you played Hu Tao with n1c/n2c instead of just spamming NA?

It's about the same or slightly slower, but with added difficulty.. without proper crit and pyro build, the vape CA from Hu Tao is meaningless in full EM build. So it might work better if you use hybrid build instead (EM Pyro Crit).

You're right about the circle impact there.. I believe hoyo is phasing out old circle impact characters with the addition of new aggresive monsters and new convenient characters like Baizhu.

Beating a boss in 24 seconds is slow? So hard to grasp this game as a new player was going to maybe try and make a team xaingling, kazha, bennet and collei as the last slot I guess wanted to try and pull for kazuha and build around him with the characters I'll have and guess with that comp I could do burgeon reactions or maybe people have better suggestions on who to pair him with for the free characters I got bennet as my free 4 star

You should do it, and you don't really need to up her talents at all. Her personal pyro damage doesn't matter, only her burgeon reaction do. Burgeon damage is only affected by character level, so you should level 90 her. For comparison, a level 80 character deals 31k burgeon damage and level 90 character deals 42k burgeon damage with the same EM...

Using Q will delay Xingqiu's burst attack by 2 seconds due to the animation, and that will stop the production of dendro cores, thus less burgeon damage. E also caused slight delay but in cases where there are dendro cores a bit too far, you can use it to trigger those cores! So you can use E occasionaly, but you don't need Q. Although in other comment, someone noted that using her Q can give you energy particles to the team as well..

That works, or use zhongli. Less cores but still works. There is also always good old triple pyro for klee aswell
