I genuinely feel so bad for Adam, because I can partially relate. The terror of all that pressure of trying to deliver properly like that is a bit much, *especially* if you're used to people putting you down. Not to the point of, y'know, having an 'accident', but I'd probably have a minor panic attack too and shrivel up

The thing with panic attacks is that they eventually become normal, so you will somewhat function while your mind spirals out of control in the background and you slowly lose contact with reality. Self-medication with alcohol, or literally anything else that can temporarily numb the pain and terror, can only slow your inevitable descent into madness up to a point. You will end up with an irregular heart, a failing liver, out of touch with your friends and without even the most basic elements of social interaction as you vaguely remember it. But hey! At least your colleagues for some reason don't notice you're falling apart so your career is doing OK!

Okay, this one is so deep that it deserves an essay despite the fact that it's not even five minutes long 🤣 > Everyone except Rowan put the black shirt over their red shirt, and the black shirt always looked either too big on them (as clearly seen when Adam and Britt were wearing it) or simply just did not belong (it probably fit Alan, but that probably was the reason the camera angle insisted not to show how it actually looked on Alan, so we could say that Alan was drowned in its power while Ellie didn't bother to put it on), implying that none of these four were fit for the role. It's like Cinderella. There is only one size, and it will only perfectly fit one person. Love it. > Rhi and Britt were just watching in the background when Alan went psycho. They had no idea how crazy these four were. They had no idea what kind of place Playtech was. Techtown was probably a very normal tech store until these four came in 😂 > Adam was reluctant since the start because he had every reason not to believe in himself, plus the PTSD he got from various... incidents, including but not limited to being brought back to life by Rowan and the White Shirt saga. I think Adam at this point was the employee that was just happy to receive proper wage and enough recognition for his work rather than being in power, especially because he got knocked down by customer(s) a lot and had to rely on either Alan or Rowan for it. 😂 > Alan had too much pent-up anger. He descended so quickly into psychosis because he simply wasn't able to control the power he had. He coveted it so much that it consumed him. The one who desires it the most, tormented by it the most. He was like an explosive volcano, just waiting to snap at one point. And like a volcano, he couldn't use the power endlessly, and he couldn't really control it, he just let it go. He could have been a good manager if he hadn't been deeply scarred by Rowan's constant... antics, and the White Shirt. 😂 > Britt was like a very smart child wanting to be considered an adult when she was trying the black shirt. It was too big for her (literally and figuratively). She was smart indeed, but she was overestimating herself and her rules. She punished the first one that spoke against her while trying so hard to butter up to the higher ups in a very childlike manner (very much like a teacher's pet 😂). She was so rigid in her approach and she would not be a good fit because, surprise, surprise, you need some flexibility and reliability as a manager. Rowan might have illogical rules and policies, and constantly failed to communicate about products and services to his employees, but Britt ramped everything up to a whole new level, and she was just a perfect addition. No comedy series is complete without this kind of high strung character in it. Astoundingly unhinged, perfection. She actually shared some characteristics with Rowan including inability to see flaws in their methods.😂 > Ellie did not put the black shirt on because she just wasn't really interested (obviously). She was still upset at Rhi for cutting down her pay. She was playing along to see how far she could push it. She acted as a placeholder for Rowan, her "decrees" were so ridiculous, but actually still within acceptable level for Rowan 😂. Rowan nodded when Ellie shut Rhi up, and Rowan definitely thought the Thunderdome animal fight idea wasn't so bad (Alan looked at Rowan at this moment, probably out of habit, was a nice touch, showing that Alan unconsciously still relied on Rowan to handle this kind of situations, or Alan just hoped that maybe Rowan would finally have the same perspective with him about something for once, in my mind Alan looked like he was trying to tell Rowan that this was not a good idea and Rowan must think about it carefully as always and Rowan had to stop Ellie from realising her vision as the ruler of the lands). It just showed once again that Ellie was Rowan's favourite. Ellie never had any intention to be a manager because why she had to be a manager if she could be just exploiting the loopholes all over again with Rowan in power? She looked happy until Rowan said pay cut to her 😂 > Rowan got rid of the red shirt before putting the black shirt on. The black shirt perfectly fit him. It was his second skin. He might be a tyrant, but he was a tyrant who knew exactly how to use his power. After four showcases filled with some horror and various iNteResTInG attempts of managing, Rowan using his power to make an astute decision right off the bat just showed Rhi that Rowan was indeed the only option she had. For the better or worse, Rowan was the only one competent enough to be a manager out of this bunch. He was also capable of obeying people who had higher positions than his while others wouldn't even let Rhi say anything or do anything during their trials (except Adam, comically poor Adam). > The visual toward the end where the three former-Playtech-now-Techtown red shirt peasants slowly closed the gap between them and the two Techtown natives was amazing, it feels like it marked the true beginning of Techtown tales. Superb. And that's, folk, why filmmaking is a complex art and why you should support these guys. Thanks for coming to my tedtalk.
