They're not sneaker designers, they're sneaker collaborators. Top be a designer is to create something from scratch. They're just adding colors to already existing silhouettes

Respectfully disagree. The silhouette is brought to them as a blank. They are designers in the sense that they’ve chosen the sneaker, the colors, patterns and fabrics to go on the sneaker. Even to your point of them “collaborating”. They’ve collaborated on the design of the sneaker, which would then put them in to the realm of sneaker design.
