Lunagaron could have been way cooler but in my opinion he's too goofy with his fish like tail and zamtrios like ice fin. I wish it had a darker palette with some nice fur, accentuating the fact that the dude is a werewolf. I like him tho

Odogaron is bets doggo, he's just so well thought out with his design and ecology, and has a pretty cool subspecies, personally I'm a little cold on lunagaron, he's not bad but he's very middle of the road for me, and has a few things that urk me about him

I love both these murder puppies and they’re my favorite of all MH monsters. Odo’s in first place but Luna’s right behind it. Honestly in a fight, I’d have a tough time deciding who to root for lol.

Im just happy they made a Vampire and Werewolf based monsters and put them in the same game. The fact Lunagaron can stand on two legs is a great touch. Nothing against Odogaron. I fine its design and movements to be one of the best in World.

Cool, nice to see you experimenting! But as constructive criticism I’d like to point out some things here: Odogaron’s claws are both retracted and extended effectively doubling its toe count-the game switches visibility of both foot models to create the effect. Similarly, Lunagaron’s claws are not always that long, and when they are, the texture swaps out for ice. The tail changes size when it stands up (shrinks)-I think this is a shape key transformation? I don’t remember off the top of my head. The back also transforms, and similar to the claws, is attached to a normal and an icy texture that swaps. Another thing to note is that, I think you may have the animations set at a low speed here? I’m guessing you rendered this in blender, and blender defaults to 24fps, but the animations were designed for 60fps, so you have to change the project DPS parameter to get them to play at normal speed.

from biological perspective odogaron possibly has larger biteforce and also wider jaw hinge, longer frame and balanced build overall. lunagaron however has less biteforce because of smaller head and the bodyplan which centered at the main body.

I checked the size of both Monsters from their respective games, and Odogaron is quite a bit larger than Lunagaron. However, the proportions in this video could be slightly off.

@@MonsterSlayerSquad seems to be, comparing both to zinogre and rathalos makes it seem like odogaron is smaller than both. It should be similar in size to luna dimension wise, probably less bulky.

Odo has some canine influences in the game. He makes dog squealing noises when he is hurt and limps to his lair to sleep, and one of the quest descriptions in the game (I think it's the high rank double Odo event quest) refers to Odo as a dog/puppy. He is definitely mostly weasel like but there is some canine influences there.

While lunagaron is arguably more agile and faster and possibly physically stronger lunagaron can match it with its own speed and ferocity especially when in that superheated state, plus lunagaron may be able to bite down but will it be able to hold without being shredded and bled? This one could go either way but personally I’ve alwyws been and am always gonna be a lunagaron fan, but I kinda miss odogaron, and wanna see it back in a later title.

Ecology is different, ecology like how odogaron was designed specifically to live in the rotten vale while occasionally venturing out to the coral highlands to hunt. How while still being inspired by a yokai it still draws from behavioural tendencies of some irl animals, and the fact that you can actually observe odo doing stuff in the vale that an animal like it would do. Lunagaron doesn't have that, its just a werewolf.Now I'm not good at explaining things in depth so I'll recommend unnatural history channel's videos on odogaron and lunagaron. He explains both monsters in each video from a purely ecological standpoint. Tho I'll say, if you're not very interested in animal behaviour/ecology the videos might feel boring

@LadyKatsuyu-kv8eo Hunting small monsters isn't a unique behaviour to lunagaron, neither is sunbathing/relaxing. Odogaron has actual unique behaviour and environmental interaction. Its been a while since I've played world but i distinctly remember odogaron showcasing scavenging by taking the legiana corpse in the vale. And it can also use walls in the environment to cling to like tobi kadachit does. Meanwhile lunagaron doesn't display the most well known wolf behaviour, which is how social wolves are. And the fact that it howls at the sky which while wolves do to occasionally is more of a stereotypical werewolf trait. Lunagaron has ecology sure but imo it's the worst ecology out of the fanged wyverns and one of the worst out of the new rise monsters. Shame cause I actually like it's fight quite a lot

@LadyKatsuyu-kv8eo The fact that only deviljho and odogaron are shown scavenging is true, and I'd prefer if more monsters were to do that actually cause what you said about opportunistic carnivores is true. Also while yes the large monster spawning disallows social behaviour to be seen, lunagaron being social wasn't mentioned in the sunbreak lore book while other monsters have had mentions of social behaviour and baby raising before in books. I'm not saying lunagaron has the worst ecology out of every monster just the fanged wyverns, simply because they have more/better mentions
