John made it big on his own without being the rock's cousin and he wasn't suppose to the face from the begining. They tried wirh orton , Batista and many more bt John naturally became the biggest star in wwe. Austin had HBK and the rock bt john did it own his own. @@jobaerbhuiyan6501 Why don’t ppl read for comprehension. I said Rock & Stone cold paved the way for the next superstar to have that ability. John Cena became a draw in a time of Zero Competition. Of course Cena outsold them because in his era of u wanted to watch wrestling you had to watch WWE. There was no other legit brands available. He was the product of A Branding Monopoly. Also Randy and Batista where Not Good Baby Faces but they made Good Heels for Cena. Cena was decent but was really the Rock and Hulk Hogan Mixed together. Rock/Stone literally came up in a Monday Night War fought to make WWF the Publically trade WWE brand they where so good together they literally bankrupt the bigger competitor a brand that had the deepest pockets Ted Turner. They not only had to fight against there own superstars they had to night after night beat Sting/Macho Man/Nash/Hall/DDp & Hulk Hogan every night and did it! Any baby face can become the biggest draw with no competition I mentioned Roman because he also had that push. Being Rocky’s cousin didn’t stop him from being booed night after night so I’m not sure why u bring that up. But bothRoman and Cena benefited from all the work of the Attitude era to be able to be decent company faces.

Rock left wwe at his prime and left the company in a position where they needed him the most. Austin tried bt his body couldn't help him. John on the other hand always tried his best to give back to wwe. Nobody did what john did for wwe and he stayed loyal to the company for 20 plus years. Didn't even consider going to another company like hogan. ROck and hogan has huge attribution in wwe bt they did it for themselves. John did it for wwe he lost his wife , Gf and took too much torture in his body and left when wwe found their next super star. John went to hollywood in his late 30s and early 40s bt still came back put over talents , made profits for wwe in their house shows. Even in his part time status he does more then hogan , rock and austin for wwe. He was called for just one match against roman in summerslam dude went on to do 13 dark matches including house shows. Make a wish foundation or any social awareness John cena beats austin , rock and hogan easily. In popularity wise he is right after Messi and ROnaldo no other wwe superstar ever achieved that global recognition like john did. Basically this. All other draws are still, in a way, riding his coattails, and thus I'd say a percentage of their takes must be accredited to him. Rock vs. Hogan stole the show at WM 18, and that wasn't because of the Rock. Austin's match on that card isn't even a footnote.

Once as a good guy and again as a heel. Some will argue that with the nWo he had help with Hall and Nash which is true. But everyone knows if Hogan wasn't the 3rd man the whole nWo thing wouldnt have worked as well as it did because how invested we all were to see him turn heel. Also which i didnt hear about when talking numbers was Hogans Hulkamania run adjusted to the times. This would have to be done twice for 80s - 90s old school era and Attitude era. Last point, Hogan vs The Rock wouldn't have been as great if it was anyone else, now thats some drawing power. That whole storyline had to change because how badly fans got behind Hogan. Stone Cold Steve Austin by far. He brought wwe back into the mainstream when people started only caring about WCW. John Cena, The Rock, Hulk Hogan are ,overall, the biggest draws ever. They transcended WWE into Hollywood and John Cena literally became a meme recognize by almost everyone, Peacemaker show, popular appearances in countless films. Most people know Dwayne Johnson as The Rock before his actual name plus his collab with Under Armour , own energy drink brand, etc. Both have become worldwide known figures and whenever I see them in WWE , the pops they get are insane. Hogan just simple started a whole movement of Hulkmania and I think has one of the most recognizable WWE entrances ever.

If your talking pure draw, I think you have to take into account the Rock's movie career. I know it isn't wrestling, but it works the same way. If a studio casts Dwayne Johnson as top billing they can draw more money. Now blockbuster lead is as big of a draw as Johnson right now. Many wrestlers have tried movies (including Hogan, and Austin) but none had the success as Johnson. I think that's enough to prove there has never been a better draw, over a wider section of fans, than The Rock. And as stated, he could come back at any time and have probably the best selling wrestlemania of all time.

Hogan's the biggest draw. 1983 to 1988 was the highest point in pro wrestling and Hogan was the king of that era. Approximately 25 million people in the U.S alone watched Hogan on TV. 1996 to 2000 is the 2nd highest point of pro wrestling and Hogan in the nWo was the hottest thing in wrestling until the end of 1997. And Hogan was still on fire until 2000. Hogan came back to WWE in 2002 and he was huge then too. Then he went to TNA in 2010 and he drew over 2.5 million people to a company that drew about 1.5 million people. Hogan also drew the largest crowds in TNA's 19 year history. Hogan wins hands down.

The actual biggest draw in wrestling history is actually Jim Londos. He was the top drawing wrestler from 1926-1928, 1930-1934 and 1937-1940. That's 13 years as the top drawing wrestler in the world. Back then they didn't have as many large stadiums as they do now, so he would sell out baseball stadiums. In 1934 he drew 100,000 people to the Athens Olympic Stadium, and they had to turn away another 30,000 attendees. It is reported he drew roughly $5 million in his prime. Now you might not think that's nothing today. You might say the Rock worst film grossed at least 4 times that, but you got to realize this was during the great depression. $5 M. in the great depression. If you account for inflation today's value that's roughly $90,000,000. No other wrestler in history compares to the "Golden Greek" Jim Londos. Edit: I wrote this comment before I saw the video, so yeah It's all included in there. My bad.

That’s open to debate. It comes down to three people: Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, and Bruno Samartino. Bruno sold out Madison Square Garden more than anyone in history and was champion for a total of around 12 years. That’s more than Ric Flairs 16 reigns combined and more than Hogan’s (12) and Cenas(16) put together. The knock is that he mainly wrestled in the Norteast. WWE will tell you it’s Steve Austin. He sold more merchandise and PPV tickets than anyone else(according to WWE). The problem is that his time was so short (around 4-5 years due to injury). That leaves Hulk Hogan. He was the one behind the 80’s boom, drew 93,173(maybe) fans at WMIII, headlined the first 8 Wrestlmanias, made WCW relevant and increased their PPV buy rates, formed the NWO and lead WCW during the Monday Night War. He sold out arenas in the AWA, Japan, WWF, WCW, and back to WWE. Hogan gets my vote.

Austin was the biggest draw in the biggest period of wrestling of all time. How can cena be it if the ratings dropped at a all time low when he was the top star.

@@chiefsosadj Well not all time low raw was still getting an average of 3 to 3.5 million viewers and also the internet era was evolving at that time raw is getting the lowest viewership now because there are no megastar on raw

@@chiefsosadj all time low? Do you not see the current ratings? Also viewership already dropped in 2001 despite the fact that both austin and rock were still in WWF

@@167kinggam The ratings were at a current all time low when John Cena was the biggest star in the company, ratings dropped in 2001 but at that time, they weren’t at a all time low, the 80s were lower. Just sayin, Austin didnt need hollywood to make him a big star. He did it strictly off of wrestling

Nice even and unbiased analysis even though Flair drawing appeal was during the time of territorial wrestling. Which means he was a huge draw for multiple promotions

Hogan was the most recognised face in the world in the Late 80s he was a pop culture icon that went way way beyond wrestling . Stone Cold was at the pinnacle of a movement, a brief shift in wrestling , he rode that wave to the top . Hogan was Wrestling for nearly 15 years .

The reality is that only Hogan and the Rock have transcended wrestling into the mainstream overall culture to even non wrestling fans since the 1980s. Cena would be a very distant third but that still is a great feat.
