I love the new merch.❤ I had a Dutch friend that was a young child during WWII. She shared how her family (and community) survived the war by eating their tulip bulbs. She knew so many ways to cook and eat tubers and bulbs. I feel it’s important to share her story and honor her memory.🕊️

I worked with a Dutch lady. She talked about how the tulips took hours to cook. The German soldiers would go into homes, toss out the cooked tulips so they would have to start over. She was such a delight and made the best buttery cookies.

Here in Minnesota it was explained to me years ago that the time changes were so the kids on school busses don't have to be standing roadside or let out the bus roadside in the dark. Rural areas have less street lighting and car drivers could not see the kids in the dark. Safety reasons to shift daylight time frames.

Daylight saving time allows for a longer working day with sunlight. It’s great for farming and tending crops without it getting dark before you are finished. In the winter you don’t need to be outside so getting dark earlier is not interfering. I prefer DST over standard time because I don’t care for getting off work in the dark.

Wouldn't it look nice if you used a more cone shaped Boxwood (maybe Green Mountain or one of the new "Better Boxwoods' varieties) on either side of the entrances in the quadrants to the former flower garden? The smaller ones could terminate into the cone shaped ones and it would like just lovely..more of an end point. Right now it just stops at something short. It would be more in the formal, English style with the cones as well. Just a thought😊. Love your videos!!!!

From the videos, it does seem you do work well with your “team”…or you wouldn’t be able to get everything done that you do. I could not agree more with daylight savings time! Lol I am old it started in the 70s ( early) during a gas shortage and they thought back then it would save money and energy! Lol of coarse that was crazy, but that is why! Along with the 55 mph highway speed! 😄👍🏻

Laura, I might love you most when you stand your ground on your decisions/actions/choices in these Q&As. I too know what I want & I’m wicked articulate when explaining my thought process. I know what people around me want (although I don’t always comply😂 I do when I can.) Ya just know what ya know & folks need to stop doubting.

I use the 9 gallon Master Gardener Cart Sprayer - Revolt Series for watering my indoor plants and love it! No more watering cans (except for a select few plants). It’s battery operated. We ended up getting the second battery which so nice because if it dies in the middle of watering, I don’t need to wait for a battery to charge in order to continue. The company making it is Master MFG.

I had to pause, then rewind! When Laura said canna bulbs, I kept thinking she said cannibals! Thank goodness they include the comment😂

hi there...talking about the time changes. I'm in British Columbia, Canada. Same time zone as you. I'm pretty sure we got federal approval to ditch the time changes. We'd need Washington, Oregon and California on board, though. Last I heard we're waiting for California (which has petitioned to become exempt).. to get federal approval.
