Notice there's no bass player? It's Felix playing the bass pedals WITH HIS FEET on the Hammond organ, while playing the keys with his hands, AND singing his heart out!! What a fantastic band they were!!

The lead singer, Felix Cavaliere, was playing organ in another group that was touring Europe in 1963. There was this other band on the bill that Felix had never heard of before --- The Beatles! When Felix got back to the States, he put this group together. The ultimate, good-time, feel-good ,blue-eyed soul. They just had a marvelous string of beautiful songs throughout the Sixties.

That machine gunner on the drums is the one and only DINO DANELLI. Snapping those sticks like switchblades and dancing while sitting down. He just passed away a few months ago. These guys were one of the young bands who were allowed to play live on TV because they were slick as hell.

"I was feeling so bad. I asked my Family Doctor just what I had. I said Doctor, Doctor Mr. MD. A can you tell me. What's ailing me. And he said All I really need is Good Lovin." "Good Lovin" was a number one hit back in (1966) for The Young Rascals. These lyrics went over my head when I was a 12-year-old boy back in 1966 when this song came out. We were just grooving to the music not realizing the lyrics and their meaning. Today as a 69-year-old proud senior citizen. My good doctor prescribed my wife for me, and it was the best medicine I have ever had. I have been addicted to her for 45 years. The Doctor was right...All I needed was Good Lovin. Awesome response and reaction and upload to one of the greatest groups of the 60's.

Great reaction to one of the classic songs of the 60's. The Drummer Dino Daneli played another percussion instrument known as a "Conga Drum" for their biggest hit "Groovin (1967).

In their early performances in New York clubs like The Scene, The Young Rascals never just walked on stage... they slithered to a beat, and went into their first number emulating said beat. Drummer Dino Danelli wouldn't just play his drum kit... he would also play the water pipes directly above him! Bruce Springsteen and Little Steven have both called Dino one of the greatest drummers of all time.

Great band, great music. LIVE music. the ed sullivan show gave us SO much great music. Even as a little kid i looked forward to sunday nights. Ed did not allow lip-synching. Sometimes the music was pre recorded but usually not. That is the late great Dino Danelli on drums. He does not get enough credit, but he was badass. Sadly he passed a few months ago. Great fun to watch. Another gread drummer to watch is Carmine Appice. There’s a great live video (i think it is also from the sullivan show) of his band Vanilla Fudge covering the supremes classic ‘set me free’. Carmine is a Beast! Check it out.
