The song hit #1 on the billboard charts in 1966. Lead singer Felix Cavaliere still tours to this day singing their greatest hits. Personally, my favorite song of theirs is "Lonely too long".

Simply one of the greatest 60s classic Rock songs of the era. It's a true classic. Great dancing music. Man, we had the best music, and so much of it back then. Thanks guys

Finally someone reacting to the Rascals, one of the greatest rock bands in the history of the universe. Felix Cavaliere was White Soul and tight flashy stick-twirling Dino Danelli was at least one of the top five rock drummers of all time. They were also heavily involved in the civil rights movement. Check out "Glory/People Got to be Free" from I think 1972, one of the last times they played together. It was on the Barbara McNair TV show and she joined them at the end. It will take you to church

The drummer’s name is Dino Danelli, one of the greatest drummers ever.

I certainly thought so back then. Later I discovered Ginger Baker, Keith Moon Bobby Colomby, John Bonham, Danny Seraphine & on & on & on. But Dino was even more animated than Moon. Great show.

Unfotrunately, Dino Danelli passed away a few weeks ago. He was 78. RIP to one of rock and roll's greatest drummer. And from what I heard, a really nice guy. Dino was with the same woman (her name was Cheryl) since the mid-1960's.

Great band from the sixties! They had a boatful of hits! How Can I Be Sure, Groovin", It's A Beautiful Morning, Mustang Sally (also done by Wilson Pickett) People Got To Be Free, and many more!

This was live on the Ed Sullivan show on Sunday night. At that time, there was no media like today so these songs were on the radio and for sale as 45's. People had no idea what the band even looked like until...they were on a show like this. I remember Monday morning in Jr High after this show, half the school was Black and half White and the major shock on the Black kids that couldn't believe these guys turned out to be "honkies".

(3) Italian American Guys from Jersey: Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati, Dino Danelli & (1) Irish Canadian/ American guy Gene Cornish. They had SOUL & could play Rock N Roll with the best of them.

The Young Rascals were the first blue eyed soul band. But to me, unlike Elvis, the didn't seem to appropriate black music, but add to it. They were always appreciative (like Elvis) of other black musicians, were equally complimentary of the black musics they heard, and were very vocal during the civil rights movement at the time. Try them doing my favorite "Lonely Too Long", "Groovin' ", "How Can I Be Sure", "Come On Up", "Ain't Gonna Eat My Heart Out Anymore", "A Girl Like You", and "People Got To Be Free". All very big hits for them.

Really wish you did the studio version. Live recordings from that time are pretty hit or Miss. This isn’t bad but the studio is better

White soul! Love Felix' voice. I wish I could see them sometime. It seems like an eternity ago when I heard their hits on the am radio I had. The drummer Dino Danelli passed away in 2022, and two of them still play- the lead singer here, Felix Cavaliere. And Gene Cornish, the guitarist, harmonica, vocalist.

This is a rabbit hole well worth pursuing. Felix Cavaliere (Organ and Lead Singer) is a musical genius. These guys have so many great songs. Please do more of them, I promise you it is well worth it. They are in the R&R Hall of Fame for good reason.

Try some music by YES one of the greatest progressive rock groups of all time and my favorite band. You haven't reacted to them at all. They have many long songs that are masterpieces. Not your usual music. Some good ones include "Roundabout", "Close to the Edge", "The Gates of Delirium". "Awaken", "Turn of the Century"... Loads of good ones. I will subscribe if you do and so will thousands more YES fans.
