I don't care if Gretzky got 1000 points in a season. If you get 1000 points in a season, it means it's easy to get points in a season. Prime Gretzky playing today wouldn't even be on the same page as McDavid. You can't bring up the point totals, it was a different era where many playing were having huge seasons, back then each year someone was hitting 70-90 goals, that hasn't happened in decades. It's not because players aren't as good, it's just a different game.

You could say the same thing about goalies and equipment then. Goalies today with old equipment would be sieves, back in the day.

Its a different era, to that i say yes. But other then cheaters(drugs) modern day players are way better. Sure a argument can be made that they have better equipment but they also train like animals all year. They also modern day players start training at such young age in a borderline professionel way. Lastly they come from all hockey playing country from russia to germany.😂 Mcdavid would burn gretzky. But Gretzky was the best of his time and did dominate way more then anyone else. He was scoring 200 points and others max 125❤
