Dunbar is so relaxed but as soon as he sees you his tail starts wagging. Elenore is so cautious being on the bottom of the pecking order. She is the sweetest. Hope she has another healthy baby. Two more healthy red dogs is awesome. Thanks for the update.

Eleanor won’t be so lonely when her red dog comes & she will have a little one to love and protect. It is sad to see her always by herself. You can tell she loves attention from Dusty. That is something the “mean girls” can’t take away from her. I hope she has a heifer and Dusty will keep her with the herd and with Eleanor. .💕

Amazing to see the red dogs running through the field with the rest of the herd. U.C. Davis is 30 minutes from where I live. They have an excellent veterinarian school there. I had no idea they did the DNA geneology for the Bison - that's so cool.

I was hoping you would have cubes to feed Eleanor. She is my favorite. I’m sure Dunbar is very proud of himself even if he’s not the father he’s now though uncle of the new red dogs. I’m not sure he doesn’t know he’s the dad though. I love when you feed Eleanor minerals and I wish she had come up to you directly. I love watching your bison. Thank you for sharing. Wow, they aren’t the prettiest animal but they make my heart jump every time I see them. I’m 71 and I have always been a cowboy and Indian movie freak so I just love to see the bison being breed again. Thank you for letting us see all your hard work and dedication to these animals. I love your cattle dog as well. We have a cattle/boxer cross who is 16 months old and we had a cattle/staffie for 18 years. We love to have the cattle cross because they are so smart and are so easy to train.

Look up the Bison Range in Montana and the story or the Pablo Allard herd which they bought from a young salish boy Atiste ...I don't think I spelled it right...true story and that is probably where your herd originated along with all the other state parks. It's a sad story for me being Salish and for the bison, but it is a true one. Anyways just thought I'd let you know.

Growing up we moved to NC from Okla. We would come back every summer to see family and when I would see the bison I knew I was home and back in Okla. So glad we moved back to Okla. You guys have some very beautiful bison.

Have you ever come across European Bison? Many don't know that such animals exist. Between the World Wars they'd become extinct in the wild; but a clever person managed to save the species by a clever breeding programme in zoos - avoiding too much interbreeding. Now a few European forests have herds. But we are excited in England that a few have been introduced to a forest in Kent, as a conservation measure. ( Apparently they keep the undergrowth in order.) They are originally native to Britain. They are a woodland creature, I'm told taller and narrower than American Bison.
