Miss the days when the world wasn't consolidated to 5 or so large corporate conglomerates. More to the point of this video, I remember seeing my first tourbillon on a Blancpain watch in the shop, I didn't know what it was at the time but it stuck in my mind for years after as something of a mechanical marvel and it proved to plant the seed of my interest for timepieces ever since. Hope to own one someday.

Dear Marc, Your videos are almost all unanimously awesome: well researched, simply presented and with meticulous attention to detail. I've just started in the watch industry, and I'm extremely grateful how you manage to share your wealth of knowledge on both brand history and current trends. You have definitely helped to smooth the learning curve considerably. Look forward to your future work and hope you gain the wider recognition you deserve. If you don't mind sharing, what is your background? (No worries if you don't feel comfortable divulging) All the best

From your accent, one could assume your first language is French. so you should be familiar with the pronunciation of the German umlaut-U (Ü) since it sounds exactly like a French U. So why is it that you pronounce a German name such as "Günter Blümlein" like a native-English speaker would "goonter bloomlein"?

Friends, this is one very confusing video ! Monsieur talks quite fast trying to deliver what is a great deal of information in a relatively short time. It's difficult to follow. I think this needs to be a "special" documentary long version video with much more contextual and historical background information. I follow your channel every day, and I am an enormous fan.
@user-zl2sc3bg3g8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this constructive comment and we understand your point. Always hard to summarise such a complex universe and the idea is really to pinpoint some of the main characteristics, but totally agree that it could be a full length documentary on its own!!!

TheWATCHES.tv I am a broadcast television and film editor, who, as a young child was apprenticed to a local watchmaker back in my home town of Montreal QC Canada. I now am based on The West Coast. Let me know if you are looking for any post production editing services. We are doing a great amount of video post for the web these days. Awesome stuff. I have watch 3 videos of yours and you have educated me so much. Based on the video, I’m seeing a trend here that all independent watchmaker companies carry their legacy, history, and the price point in future. Break groups tend to consolidate an offer product at a affordable price point, eventually diluting the value of the product.

Have a great day
@user-zl2sc3bg3g7 жыл бұрын
On est clairement dans un moment de redéfinition de cette noble industrie, mais je suis persuadé que l'attrait pour la montre mécanique subsistera pour son côté émotionnel, mais il est clair que certains abus de ces dernières années aura des conséquences.

Superb video series, i enjoyed it a lot, getting to know more about the watch industries. As in my country South Korea, There's not much of informations about Watches, due to it's small watch market. Just can't wait for the next one.
@user-zl2sc3bg3g8 жыл бұрын
Thanks and we have more and more people looking at us from South Korea. Quick question: do you think that if we added Korean subtitles it would help a lot and increase viewership in SK?
@lamarazul63228 жыл бұрын
Well... as you know, Watches and timepieces are still a maniac kind of luxury items. So only some of the populations are interested in it. And as I said the market here is small, so there are not many ways to get informations and latest news. Only those who are enthusiastic about watches and luckily if they're capable of understanding english then they would go search about the informations
@lamarazul63228 жыл бұрын
And unfortunately, not many of us would wholly understand English. And indeed myself too. So if possible, adding a Korean Subtitle would be a great opportunity for us to get the latest news. We would very much appreciate that!
@lamarazul63228 жыл бұрын
And i could help gather attention by posting this conversation in the community i'm in, and help increase viewership and subscription. as I believe this site is very helpful and enjoyable.
