Isbia was a disgrace if he wanted to actually be a part of a game in the NBA then he should have been a better college player. A very immature person. Let us remember he actively tried to mess with Denver's chancees to win the game/series which also translates to messing with their money. As much of a pain in the a## Mark Cubam can be at least he sits on the end of the court behind the basket and awy from direct involvement on the sidelines. If you asked him he would probably admit if he sat courtside he may loose his cool and run on the cort to stop a fast break....lol.

Play wouldn't have started until the Suns player was out of the stands. Play stops all the time when players go into the stands. They don't just let you take the ball out.

What is this fast break that everybody keeps talking about being thwarted by the owner? I thought I was watching the NBA last night, not a YMCA pick up game. You can't just grab the ball from out of bounds and start a break. It has to go to the ref first, and I believe the protocall for the ref would be to make sure all players were out of the stands first before giving the ball to be inbounded.

The owner actually initiated the contact. He was walking into Jokic and put his hand on Jokic's hip and was moving towards Jokic's arm, of course anyone is going to react by nudging that person away. Jokic was about as soft as you can be in that moment to prevent someone who was already touching his hip and moving into him.

@@PHXFilmGreg Not sure if there is any rule stating that they cant go get the ball but the purpose was to get the ball right back in and run the offense, especially with the Suns player on the ground. In that play, the ref does not need to touch the ball. The ball can be inbounded by the player. THe ball should just be tossed back but Matt basically held on to it.

Because Ishbia embellished that nullifies Jokic's shove? I do not get why it looks bad on the owner. The owner was a basketball player... So, he probably new that is was a dead ball and if it were just a moment later he would have given the refs the ball. Jokic has had a bad rap with the Suns and it has to be realized that this dude gets overly emotional (ejections during the finals no 2021). Jokic, a 7 foot 285 pound also embellished in the interview, that is hilarious, worried about his safety when it is a much smaller and older person. It is level.

Except for in Malace at the Palace, the players were defending themsleves from fans who were throwing beer at them and just straight up squaring up with them, whereas Joker was just mad that a fast break, that wasn't going to happen anyway got thwarted. I agree soft NBA.

Mat was in his seat, Ball came to him, before he even had the chance to throw it back Joker ran over. Mat wasn't even on the court. Joker which is a perfect name for this just acted stupid. My thoughts too. Jokic instigates the interaction by willingly leaving the court. There is no benefit for him to go over there. Even if Ishbia hands the ball directly over to him, play isn't going to resume until the Suns player gets back onto the court.

Suns player dove into the stands. We don’t know if his head hit a camera or if he was ok. Ball ends up in owners hands. Jokic was trying to get a easy basket while the suns player is trying to get up. The ref should’ve grabbed the ball, not Jokic. Simple.

Exactly, it was an inbound play, which means the ref always had to hand it in to jokic to then start play. Joker was trying to get an advantage that was against the NBA rule book.

Maybe someone will say this later in the video (still watching) but the way that it occurred to me is that the owner was hangin' onto the ball until the Suns player got up and then the ball would be passed back to him. I don't know who the ball belongs to-the player that chased it or the player that did the work of yanking it out of the hands of the fan. I think maybe the owner just had an aloof moment in the adrenaline of the crash.

Ishbia is holding the ball while checking on the player and fan. Jokic is trying to take the ball to get an unfair advantage. The part this is missed is Ishiba is still in his seat, looking to his left to help his player up who fell into the front row. I don’t think he saw Jokic come for the ball at first. If Jokic doesn’t come after the ball, rushing to get some kind of fast break, then none of this happens. He shouldn’t get suspended, but the technical was warranted.

Remember in the Lakers game Lebron defended a pass and damn near ran to the locker room. They held that ball until Lebron got back on the court. That's what they do when players go into the stands. They don't just hand you the ball and say have at it. Jokic should have stayed out of it and let the refs get the ball, because the play wouldn't have started until the Suns player was out of the stands.

Immediately you can see the suns player calling for help for the fan. The owner was trying to see if the fan was ok, he didnt look fully cognizant that he was even holding the ball. At that moment noone in that area was thinking about the game, and then Jokic comes over and grabs the ball to do what exactly? He couldnt just inbound it. The ref was not going to start the game again until everyone was ready. Joker looked like a moron if you ask me.
