I want to see **Pete Alonso** in a Mets uniform when he hits his 300th or 400th home run. Last but not least, his numbers have been down the last two seasons, and I think it goes hand-in-hand with contract talks. Once he receives a contract, I believe his mind would be more focused on baseball. You'll see him hit another 40-home run season once that contract is signed with any team. I guarantee you! With an over 800 OPS

Yea José Valentín was hit or miss there were times he was hot for the Mets along with Moises Alou. But I wouldn't sign him to a long term deal I'd trade him for a starting pitcher

I think Jose earned more per year. Given the fact that there are so many American League playoff off teams who could not hit! Jose’s value should have increased for his hitting, fielding and clubhouse presence.

Yankees are on fire right now with there signings. Off season is obviously not over but i'm getting worried all of the good players are getting signed (especially good arms) and we wont be left with anyone who is an "upgrade" to whose already on the roster . We NEED all an all-star caliber pitcher and.a few bullpen guys to beef up our rotation. and ofc a consistent bat or two to go with our core 3 (Soto, Lindor, Nimmo)

@@Matt-qv6oo as much as I like Vladdy he’s Pete 2.0. Very good 1st baseman who averages 30+ hr’s every season. Only difference is that he’s younger and his avg is elite, but is it worth almost tripling what Pete what potentially get for him? For almost the same production? Idk I just feel like we can get someone for cheaper whose average is just as good and keep Pete. My main focus is on pitching. We need to strengthen our rotation and middle bullpen and I would rather allocate a lot of Uncle Steve’s funds to that

So far it’s looking like it could work out for the Mets, but we all know that could change quickly. You've got 4 guys that can play third, McNeil started at 3rd, Acuna could probably make the switch, Martuccio if he's over his injury If they resign Iglesias he could play second or try 3b. Your farm system is supposed to be the first supply of talent. A team should not have to constantly buy players. Has anyone wanting to keep Alonzo looked at these numbers : 215 BA with runners on base, .154 with bases loaded, .137 BA in late inning pressure situations and 20 of 34 home runs with no one on base. Sorry guys, that is not a guy you want batting clean up.

Alosno is out there there's reports linking him back to the mets maybe it happens nobody seems too interested in giving him a long term deal. so Alonso may have to settle what the Mets or some other team is offering.

Thank God none of these guys are the GM. Christian walker for 3 years?? Are you kidding me? Dude is a career .250 hitter. Doesn't walk a lot. Does have a little bit of power. But 3 years? Not a chance. At least with Pete you get power. At that point, just find a year deal and go all in on vlad Jr. The only option we should be taking is Jose Iglesias. His club house presents was great and hit very well for us. And I don't trust McNeil at 2nd. Just bring back Pete. For those who want to rag on the dude. He has more runs, RBis and HR in his career than Vlad Jr. With less AB. He can be great. And with Soto now here and contract out of the way. I think he will be.
