I am getting married in October 2024 and already chose my dress. Your videos were so helpful! I did an extensive research beforehand and chose only 3 stores as you suggested 😊 I decided to go alone to my first appointment only because I wanted to feel and try everything without noise. I know my body and have a very defined taste but I tried all the dresses the SA proposed (and I had a lot of surprises) and that first solo appointment was key for the upcoming 2, to which I went with my bff only. I don’t live in my home country so I couldn’t bring my mom/grandma and I am actually thankful for that. I chose a beautiful dress and the journey was drama free. Bottom line: keep it simple, you don’t need so many opinions.

I went wedding dress shopping on Valentine’s Day by myself. I found my dress (the second dress I tried on) and was able to choose my dream dress with anyone else influencing my decision.

This makes me feel so much better. I’m going to my first dress appointment on Friday and I’m going with my Mom and future MIL. I thought it was lame to not bring a large group of girls 😊

I don't know if it's "normal," but in addition to Mom and Sis, I want my Dad there too.

If I’m wearing a dress with a sweep train and add an overskirt (which has a train), does this make the dress train pointless if nobody will see it? I asked the seamstress to keep the length in the back of the dress, but now I’m wondering if I should have had the train removed. I was planning on wearing the overskirt for the ceremony and photos, and taking it off afterward. I wasn’t planning on using the dress train for the reception. Thank you and love your videos!

Great question - I recommend asking your seamstress to bustle the train of the dress so you can take photos with it up or down. Wishing you a remarkable wedding!!
