Who Should You Wish for in 4.0 - Lyney, Yelan, Zhongli or Tartaglia/Childe?

In my opinion, Zhongli is worth it if you don't want to learn enemy attack patterns and struggle to dodge consistently. Even though he is not always a meta pick, his shield makes the game so much more comfortable. You're immune to interruption and don't take damage unless there are rifthounds. The resistance shred is a fun bonus. Yelan is worth it if you're into meta and want to play double hydro but otherwise Xingqiu will do. Childe is worth it if you're into meta and want to play international, but otherwise Xingqiu will do. Lyney is a DPS, something we have an abundance of. You can choose almost any character to be a DPS, so he is the least valuable to the average player. The only reason you'd go for him is if you're interested in his play style and character design.

having another xingqiu is pretty fucking broken especially since hyperbloom (one of the best archetypes in the game ) requires hydro and consistent one, so if you don't have another hydro or want to use xq for another team, yelan is broken

Personal opinion, if you want any of the characters in 4.0 go for them, even if then you don't have enough primos for Focalors. She is going to rerun in 4 months after her release so you should be able to get her then if you are a bit patient. Also if you don't have Yelan (and want her) you should 100% get her. She was my first 5*, got her before arriving at Inazuma and made the game SO MUCH easier for me. I still keep her in my teams 99% of the time while doing overworld stuff and ALWAYS have her in abyss.

Heck yeah Yelan! I wanna get her badly seeing as when I joined Genshin in 3.4 I started with her banner and pulled on it so I got Bennett and Xingqiu (rate up lol) from her before I realized that using one wish at a time on a banner that was probably ending soon wasn't a good idea and started saving so now that I have the wishes to get her, I'm going for her! And yeah I'm honestly waiting to see if Focalors is REALLY good or not before I pull, as in I want to see if I'd want her on her rerun as well, haha. Anyway, 2 more days till Yelan banner~ Can't wait!

Yelan was my First limited in her First banner. Yes She Is an incredibile unit, but ti be honest i would not recomend new player to pull her right now. The reason Is simple: we are getting the hydroarchon in 4.2 and we know that pneuma and ousia can affect your account performance in this year of the game that has Just began. So, i'm specilating that the archon herself Will be able to switch from ousia to pneuma. If that Is true, She Will be litterally the best character on therm of value ( It Will have the same value as two limited characters basically, if what i speculated Is true). So, why i'm saying that i would not suggest to pull for Yelan? Well, basically new player want to build up a good varietà in their roaster. so, considering that all archons are really strong unit and also they are all offensive supports, Yelan and focalor Will may share not only the same element, but also the same role. You May argue that they can play together, yes absolutely but at this point would be a Better choice to focus on someone that maybe could have been created to sinergyze with focalors ( nouvillette), basically every second in command in every reagion synergize well with their archon, so Is not hard to immagine that whis Will be also the case. In few words: yeah you pull for Yelan Will never be a waste. but honestly, the timing of her banner here, Just One patch before nouvillette and 2 form the archon, decrease the value of and investment on her right now. With this being said, all should pull for her If they love her, but if we are talking About what would be theorethically a Better choice right now, It would probably be to wait and save a Little more

If I get him, I have the two characters I most want in the game as my first two 5-stars, which is crazy. After that I will start building actual full teams with good damage. Survivability first! @@blastzd Yelan at base with a good four star is slightly better than a strong C6 Xingqiu but once you get C1 and her weapon (which is a lot) she basically doubles in damage. Mine currently drops 55k nukes with E use and 25k with special charge. Since the timer for her E charge starts the second the ability begins you effectively have a 4 second cooldown on a 55-80k nuke that doesn’t require energy is easy to aim on large groups and is attached to a character with a massive amount of HP.

Just switch out of him the moment Xiangling's pyronado expires. How do I know? I played a lot with him in my friends account. You do not need to see the cd or burst cd, just get the f out the moment pyronado goes out. Simple as that.

I'm in the same situation sadly except I played since 2.5; yelan and zhongli are both amazing, but the best option imo is zhongli and here's why: as everyone knows, he provides the strongest shield in the whole game, that neither Noelle or layla (second best shields) have. Secondly, he's an old character (no pun intended) and got his last rerun a year ago, meaning his next rerun would probably take another year to come( even w/ the upcoming triple banners feature), while yelan has a higher chance to get a rerun sooner. Besides, who's gonna keep yelan (or the whole team) from getting one shot? zhongli's shield. (Ik geo sucks but still) Yelan is the best according to meta, but zhongli makes the game way easier! :) ofc not forcing you to pull for him, go for whoever you like most and have fun lol. anyway, good luck on your pulls!

But team wise I really need yelan so I can do a double hydro ,hyperbloom team with raiden,Nahida, xingqui & yelan. Layla is a great alternative to Zhongli. She has the 2nd strongest shield in the game, 100% uptime, easy to build and you can still get reactions with her. Yelan is honestly a tier of her own. She's incredible imo and I would get her. She adds insane power to your team and is even a QOL improvement for exploration. If you have Sayu and Yelan you can run around the map so fast.

Its funny because back in the day I only wished for Yelan after being wishy washy about it for a good week. Yelan. You will use her everyday. Almost everything from the overworld benefits from her elemental run speed. More attention is on Abyss usage (in which she's usually among the best) but to run in the Abyss you need to Run overworld content to build the characters to use there. Yelan makes it easier to do that. Also she's hot!

Zhongli basically flips the game to recruit difficulty. Man's shield is nearly indestructible against any element, and shreds enemy resistance; you get tougher, and enemies get softer. There's really no downside, and all this at c0.

I'm pulling for Yelan only. She's the 5* Xingqiu I need for my hyperbloom teams and She has evaded me for some time. Tried, tested and true, she has been good for the entire year she has been out. - CAVEAT: Furina may powercreep her, but I don't care. Yelan has stood the test of time. I already have Zhongli and Tartaglia, and I don't want their constellations. - Zhongli is recommended IF you have a hard time surviving. He's not who you add for more damage. - Tartaglia has one of the strongest teams in the game: Bennett, Xiangling, Kazuha, Tartaglia. I recommend him. CAVEAT: Focalors (Furina) may power creep him if she is a Hydro DPS. Lyney seems like a decent charged bow shot character. I already have Tighnari and Ganyu for that. And I don't know how good mono-pyro is in the Abyss. It works fine in the overworld and Bennett/Kazuha or Sucrose /Lyney/Xiangling would be a great team for exploration/overworld.

@@blastzd and @rainless Normally I've been using Ayato in hyperbloom (now Xingqiu) because you can apply dendro with Nahida, and then use Raiden's skill, and then switch to Ayato to trigger the blooms/hyperblooms with his skill. Then I use his burst and switch out to... well, whoever else I have - Kazuha for crowd control or Zhongli for applying a shield or my healer.

22:39 I disagree. Considering C0, Yelan's application is no where even near Childe's. Even XQ applies more hydro than Yelan and without having quadratic scaling at your disposal, you'll realistically never be able to reach International's level of damage. Not to mention, Yelan application is ST not even AoE. And when it comes to damage distribution, Xiangling's damage and Childe's damage are really close all thanks to his nuke of a burst. International has dynamic rotations that can be used depending on situations to minimise downtime. Sometimes's you'll be hyperbuffing Xiangling, sometimes Childe.

Zhong dong is pretty good at C0 and very f2p friendly, just need to slap some HP and his shield is unbreakable and has 100% uptime, very useful for characters like Hu Tao and Ganyu. His dmg isn't the best but the fact that his shield lets you use your dps characters without having to dodge at all increases your overall dps on itself.

Yelan is worth it. Period. Any account that has Yelan is better just by having her. I'm a super casual player and took a break from the game since the last Yelan banner (could not get her at the time) and came back for her rerun. A 10 pull and there she was in all her mommy glory. I already had farmed some stuff for her but nor nearly enough to have her fully built and yet she does so much damage. Like just burst and a few shots later everything's dead and she's still not fully built.

I'm a Wanderer main with Faruzan, Layla and Bennett, but I'm considering wishing for Zhongli to replace Layla as my shielder, but then I wouldn't be able to maximise Wanderer's Jade claimed flower skill since Geo isn't a swirlable element (and especially since Layla is cryo and cryo when swirled, gives Wanderer 20% crit rate increase) so I’m a bit conflicted

@@sin--- I farmed for 2p HoD 2p 18% atk - if you don’t have any good HoD, I’d go for 4p Nymph, which is statistically better, but I had a good hydro goblet on HoD already, plus I could use blizzard strayer more than the set paired with Nymph. Shimenawa is paired with emblem, is getting a strongbox, and 2p 2p is more flexible in farming than 4p. Depends on whether you’re going for max damage or most value-for-resin. Damage wise, 4p nymph > 2p HoD 2p atk = 4p HoD. Not sure where 2p HoD 2p Nymph fits in

I got Yelan on her first banner when I had no idea what she did. That was when the banner was Yelan and Xiao. As much as I need a better anemo character, Yelan has been my best character ever since I got her, and I have not stopped using her since. Tried again in 3.4 Collected enough to get to soft pity. Got a Tighnari (c2. He's awesome but I needed yelan) Even got an early welkin for my birthday and still she didn't come home. I have 21000 primos. She will not escape this time

I'm currently pulling for Lyney in phase 1 as I already have Yelan. For phase 2, I'm stuck between Zhongli and Tartaglia. If I pull for Zhongli, then I'll have my first Archon, while if i pull for Childe, then I'll have the second member for my Fatui Harbinger team (I recently pulled for Wanderer)

Saying you can put Yelan on place of Tartaglia in International and get as much damage is just a blatant lie. Have fun applying enough Hydro to enable XL vapes on AoE. International is the best team for a reason. It has tons of frontloaded damage with Tartaglia's burst, groping with Kazuha and a lot of damage due to Tartaglia's and XL's sinergy against every type of content.

Nice reviw, thanks for the insight shark..been playing it for about 3 months and I followed your tips on how to start strong, now I'm staying at AR35, roaming the map, doing daily, bosses, hang out and some events and ofc waiting for Yelan.. Bcs, well, as f2p player, my only hydro char is the one and only singing sensation of Monstadt 🥲 got almost 10k primos now, I'm at around pity 50,should be nice to wish for Yelan.. I only have 3 characters the are 5⭐️. Nahida, Kazuh and Keqing. I think Yelan would be best for what I have at my disposal. Since I have Kuki and Xingqiu. Im not really good at team building so im not entirely sure. Since I also lack a good second team for abyss…. Im not good at building teams..

@@GodPalaceBhakti you have 3 on field dps characters and eula is the weakest one so you dont need to build her Faruzan is the best support character for wanderer and just add yelan and bennet ( you will get him for free in the next update ) Mona works great with klee and if you have sucrose and a healer like dionna you have a great team

Zhongli is a must pull for any account. Yelan is a good support aswell and dishes tons of dmg plus is insane good for exploration. both are top picks but Zhonglis shield is just too OP to miss out. I got him on 2 of my 3 accounts and I hate playing the account without zhongli so yeah... Strong-hli all de way

@@buttercup86900 zhongli is always worth it, specially if you do abyss. Having a shielder on both sides is just superb. On one oy mf abyss teams I only use zhongli without a healer even just because his shield is so strong, it never breaks.

Wanderer doesn’t really want or need zhongli. But he’s a good option nothing wrong with it. Layla and Thoma provide more value then him, and he doesn’t need a shield nearly as much as the other options. If you are comfortable playing without a shield it’s highly recommended you go for other supports.

I´ve been planning to wish for Yelan since long time and I will certainly do, but today I got electrified over and over again in level 10.2 of current Abyss and I was craving to have a Zhongli in my team 😭😭😭

If I've learned anything though playing Genshin, and having 2 accounts, skip anything gimmicky and skip anyone you don't really love and only go for triple S, ultra meta, units and teams. Watch character analysis videos and only when they confirm that they are in the same line as the current or above top tier units, go for the pull. -Zhongli? Unless you already have a meta damage dealer, skip. The shield is nice, but enemies that you oneshot with a good damage dealer also can't deal damage to you. -Same for Yelan. Amazing support character with excellent damage, but she is a support. Do you have a top tier, geared, leveled and crowned damage dealer? -The magician, forgot his name already, but I recognize a "filler/primo trap" character when I see them. Those of us who know about Ganyu remember. Unless you have Zhongli, the charging mechanic is more work for the same result as a character that doesn't require all the hassle. Do you like changing teams often to solve world puzzles? Do you like breaking the shields of abyss mages with the wrong element? This game is made to be played with reactions in mind. It's not worth it to build multiple mono element members, just to make one character good. -Tartaglia...a lot of investment and work during battle, for damage that can be gotten easily with some other characters. When you have units that can 36-star the Abyss to help you get more primos, then you can go for the Dehyas as much as you want. Again, unless it's a unit you absolutely love the design and gameplay off, meta will definitely make a noticeable improvement in your gaming.
