This rendition is actually the original one by The Walter Solek Orchestra that hailed out of Meridan CT; there have been may versions by many artists, even one that made it to TOP 40 Radio in Baltimore during the late 1950's

I grew up in East Baltimore, MD, and remember this tune getting plenty of radio play when I was a kid in the '50s and '60s. Baltimore has a large population of Polish-descended Americans, mostly on the East side of town, and numerous small Polish-style butcher shops that make wonderful fresh sausages. The tune is almost as much fun as a Polish wedding! :) Jac Sie Moscz!

One of my friends in Marching Band had this song on his iPod and we'd dance and sing to it during rehearsals on the football field when the director had his back turned.

Yes, your right, but the Kiszka Walt Solek is singing about is not Kosher. Contains Pork blood, 2 kosher no-no's if I'm not mistaken.

Kishka is a traditional Slavic food adopted by Jews. In fact the word "kishka" is derived from the Slavic word for intestine and as kishka is a "blood sausage" or "blood pudding" (and similar sausages are known all over the world) most commonly made with pork blood, it is non-Kosher both due to the use of pork and the use of blood, which is why Jewish kishka is the only "blood sausage" that doesn't use blood.
