Its unfortunate that Michael Chambers didnt get the recognition he so rightfully earned and was due. Its sad how many people over the years have taken credit for all the stuff he created and brought to the world. You can tell he is sadden by it but not bitter and has done good for himself with all his work over the years. He should of won awards and given the honors he deserves. 80's are still the best decade.

it's crazy cause i moved to LA in 83 from the Bronx and new NOTHING about West Coast Culture other than Soul Train and even then I didn't know that was West coast. But I learned Soooo much after living there for 15 years. WestCoast Had it's own HipHop culture and I Defend that Culture to the fullest. People thought NWA was like the first of West Coast Emcess and i'm glad that Shrimp gave props to Ice T and Kid Frost because they were like the main ones out there doin it.

Wow. You are very articulate. It was nice to get the backstory of your career success. Breakin and electric Boogaloo are 2 of my favorite movies of all time. I actually liked part 2 because of the pastels. I tried very hard to learn the routines at the end of part 2 and I did learn the routine of Paula Abdul dance sequence with the cat from "opposites attract"...I thought the choreography was amazing......lol......I was a teenager then. Anyway this piece was very enlightening and I enjoyed every second of it. Just a sidebar, when I had my curl back in the day, they use to call me TURBO.

Thanks Michael for breaking down the timelines and putting in order of what came out of what area. There have been fighting over who started what before who and this video brings it into focus. It shows how this area had this style, and this style came up from this place not this place... it really made sense when laid out...there will always be folks out there arguing bragging rights. But this video made the most of laying it all out without disrespecting any area or any groups ..again thank you Boogaloo Shrimp.. and RIP ADOLFO SHABBA DOO QUINONES, OG MASTER LOCKER, MASTEROF MANY STYLES, AND A MASTER OF A MAN...PROPS OUT TO "SPECIAL K" LUCINDA DICKEY. THE ELECTRO ROCK CREW IN THE MOVIE WHICH WAS, POP N TACO(BRUNO FALCO), POPIN PETE (TIMOTHY SOLOMON, ANA "LOLLIPOP SANCHEZ who was the only one to still play part of the Electro Rock Crew in the 2nd film..and thanks OTHERS LIKE ICE T, and many others who made yhe movies CULT CLASSICS. NOTE, IN THE FIRST BREAKIN MOVIE WHERE LUCINDA AND PHINEAS NEWBORN(ADAM) INTRODUCED HER TO TURBO AND OZONE DANCING AT THE BEACH. IF YOU LOOK IN THE BACKGROUND YOU WILL SEE JEAN - CLAUDE VAN DAMME WEARING A BLACK ONE PIECE WORKOUT UNITARD, HE IS IN THE CROWD AROUND TURBO AND OZONE MOVING TO THE MUSIC. ALSO SHABBA DOO'S WIFE LELA ROCHON was in the 1st and 2nd Breakin. And in the 2nd movie Sonny Bono from Sonny and Cher fame, his wife Susie (Coelho) Bono played Ozones ex girl friend Rhonda who always wanted to fight KELLY IN THE MOVIE.. One more thing I just found out, I saw the name in the cast of the 2nd movie. VIKTOR MANOEL who is known the world over for his knowledge of Punking and Waacking ans Jazz dance from back in the 70's on. He was in the 2nd movie dancing on the stage in the park with Turbo's soon girl friend. I believe another connection Viktor had with this film was thru Shabba Doo. Shabba Doo himself was a big contributor to Punking ,Waacking, Posing, he incorporated it into his own styles etc. He later toured with Madonna on Who's That Girl Tour. Putting together choreographing her shows, and dancing as her partner.. and she later came out with the song Vogue, and made Waacking, Punking, Posing into her idea of calling it Voguing for commerical purposes..so I would think Shabba Doo put the idea of this style as if you watch the tour video of the dance and then progressed into a song that made her alot of money. But without Shabba Doo's influence Madonna would not have came up on it.. on stage way before she was Voguing , he was dancing with her in shows and he was Waacking, punking, posing before she even knew what it was really about..

Shrimp. I was already a dancer and street dancer before Breakin. But after seeing it, I ripped it all off and couldn't be beat. I always thought you were the best and like everyone else always wondered what happened. Always been in the mind that both Breakin movies far surpassed Beat Street, to the point, I was disappointed when I watched it. You guys put the bar way too high. Yes, 1 is better than 2, however I believe the strong message was lost in the overt p production. Still classics and any dance movie after, owes you. Always a die hard Jacksons fan, and picked up on Michael's transition in style and always saw you, when I watched him, but never knew the full story until today. Thank you so much.... mystery solved and they would've gotten away with it if wasn't for those meddling kids. Ok, sorry. Anyway brother, I wish you well and hope there's more to come for you and hope you get your flowers for all you've influenced. Condolences about Ozone true pioneer. Oh, whatever happened to that oh my gosh fine girlfriend from Breakin 2? She never became you're girlfriend? Don't believe it. Anyway. Much love and respect.
