Lets get real , Dennis Johnson said , " Larry bird could do it all by himself " but he chose to shackle his game for the benefit of his team mates .... Larry legend had the will and the killer instinct to win barr none ...and a basketball IQ off the charts ... I'm sticking to Larry legend at this stage over any player ...

One Thing About Larry Is That He Never Really Cared About "Triple Doubles". Now & Then He Said He Would Get Bored In The Middle Of a Season & Go For Some Then. Larry Was Mainly About Team Play & Winning. Larry Was A Pretty Humble Person When It Came To Records BY Saying; "Records Are Made To Be Broken". Yes I Would Take Larry Still Over Luka.

Great analyzes, as usual, Solid. I would choose Larry because of one intangible that was not discussed: Competitiveness. Larry was an assassin. He is the guy that I, as a Celtics fan, always wanted to make the last play it meant tying or winning the game, and making the last play was not necessarily taking the shot, just ask Isaiah.

Luka said he studied Bird. I think joker did too. There was a famous Europian player who was inducted in the nba hall of fame who said Larry was his hero . I can't remember what video but if I find it I will send it to you. I as far as the triple doubles are concerned they were thought of as a novelty until bird and magic came more prevalent. Now I'm not saying that today's players have any involved with the game but you can't really compare the two errors because the rules are different the floors wide open they officiate the game different. That's what makes comparing stats just stats a real hard sell. You're talking about stats that were predominantly two point shots, not three-point shots. The three ball was used towards the end of the 80s but the coach is still discouraged them using three-point shots. They were mainly used as a dagger at the end of a game or to get ahead or to demoralize the team that they were playing . A lot of what the new players are doing now would be called. Traveling back in Larry Bird time. Luka, Dončić, and Joker are two of my favorite players to watch play and I think you're right about the LeBron era. It's gonna change because it's going to keep evolving. Some of these players coming up are just amazing. I keep watching basketball because I love basketball too. I'm keeping track of the highschoolers coming up. It'll be coming in the NBA in the next couple years, I'm trying to watch the college players and I'm trying to keep up with the new players coming along. Larry Bird will always be my favorite player, but I also recognize greatness when I see it.

Is this a joke? Come back in five or six years and we can address this comparison again. Larry played on a TEAM with 5 HOFers and didn’t give a damn about triple doubles: he cared that his whole team was involved.

It is not a joke, Beth. Take a stress pill and calm down.

Larry or the field? That is the question to ask.

That depends. Does the field include Jabar? If it does I take the field otherwise I take Bird.

I dislike comparing production when comparing eras. The game is completely different. And the way they play is very different.

C’mon man , Larry Legend is two tiers above Luka ! He s got a long way to go to be in Birds class ! Get back to us in about tens years …

Will Luka ever be called Luka Legend? Maybe. Time will tell. One thing I heard recently was Larry saying how great Jokic is, and how Larry would love to play against him. He said "play against him", not with him. Larry wasn't about building super-teams; he was about playing againt the best and beating them. Even if Luka or Jokic make it to legend status, Larry Legend is still him! Magic said it many years ago: There will never EVER be another Larry Bird!

Luka is similar.. just not AS good. but as close to bird as anyone else.. as an ISO player THO, i feel CAREMELO ANTHONY is the most like bird.. post up downlow or the midpost, 3 pointers, drives, rebounds, putbacks, spot up.. just not AS good lol.. not NEARLY as good a passer or shooter or defender or rebounder tho.. but SCORING very similar.

more volume scoring but LESS defense AND physicality.. todays stats are INFLATED but I digress..

Here to support you.. but I don’t watch today’s basketball at all, so I would not know how to compare the two…. 8:59 What he’s not mentioning here is that Larry Bird dummy down his own stats to help the team win and routinely didn’t even play in the fourth quarter, unless needed

Bird didn't play for stats. Bird won Championships plural, MVP's Plural, The Celtics made it the conference championship almost every year of the 80's, Boston finished first in their division almost every year in the 80's. Some of these things Luka has done once or never.

Please react to rapper Jhope's 'Neuron', the song is a genre of old school hip hop from 2000s. Neuron is the main track from his new album 'Hope On The Street' which also has song 'lock/unlock' in collaboration with Nile Rodgers. He previously released a collab song 'On the Street' with J.Cole, a lofi hip hop track.

Larry He could run and dunk in his first 5 season.(healthy ones). You have to play the same rules, and he would be trained from high school on to enter the league today, i'd like to see him running for 40 minutes and having the work ethic, he would not only be a problem for Curry, he would look them stupid as ever!

Lets look at who affected their team more Celtics record year before Bird, 29-53, Celtics record in Birds 1st year, 61-21 Mavs record year before Doncic, 24-58, Mavs record in Doncic's 1st year 33-49 As a matter of fact the Celtics won more than 60 games in 6 of Birds first 7 seasons (they were 56-26 in the one season they didn't win more than 60 games This is Luka's 6th season. The most games the Mavs have won with him is 52 and that was the only season so far with 50 wins or more since Luka has been on the team. In 2 of the seasons Luka has been playing, the Mavs have won less than 40 games. Yes, Luka has great stats and is being compared to Bird. However, Bird made his team much better with how he made the team play. Birds basketball IQ is one of the things that set him apart from everyone else.

You also have to look at how the rules of the game have changed since the 1980s..If you breathe too hard on another player these days, it's a foul,so it leaves you a little more open in today's style of play to be able to score more..😂😂😂
