12:45: As to why Charles is a train, it could have been for the sake of armor. If you remember back to the Ancient Tablet that Daryl requested you get from that chest Warren's Cultists, Arrenearum has always had giant demon spider problems, going back to ancient times; and the Temple Prism was supposedly used to try and abort the Eggs by draining them of their life energy before they could hatch into more demon spiders, the only downside being that anything caught in the way of the energy being dispersed from the Temple Prism would be empowered by this infusion equivalent of Demon Stim Cells. How does this relate back to Charles? Well, I have two hunches. 1.) While screwing around with the Prism, Warren infused a train with demonic energy, causing it to become a half-train, half gigaspider-from-Hell. This newly sentient train monster went on a beserk killing spree as it acquired awareness of the world around it, and is drawn to the eggs because it has some instinctive pull on him, as if he somehow knows that these were the things that gave him life, and thus, could make him even stronger. or 2.) The ancient precursors of Arrenearum who fought with the demon spiders managed to slay _most_ of the demon spiders... but one of them, either an egg or a freshly hatched spiderling, managed to survive, to bury itself deep within the earth, plotting revenge against humanity while growing stronger, while learning combat tactics (he is smart enough to flee if he takes too much damage, and usually prefers to attack players when they're not in their engine to protect them). Eventually, Warren's mining operations would wake Charles up from his millennia long nap and unleash him on the world when they unearthed the temple. Realizing that the humans had stronger weapons than the more tribal cave people his kind fought with in the past, he nestled himself into the train, like a hermit crab claiming a shell as both a home and suit of armor, to give him an extra edge in fights.

1:58: As for why they call him Charles, I imagine the reason is simple; on all the property of Warren Charles III's mining operation (the tunnel boring equipment, dynamite crates, and especially the railway stuff) is the logo of his business "CHARLES MINING COMPANY." The player character can even see it emblazoned on the side of his own Engine, if you inspect it's exterior. My mild kinda-theory is that people were so busy fleeing for their lives that when they named the beast, they opted to simply call him "Charles" because that's what was embossed on the side of his chassis. That and everyone on the island despised their former mine boss Warren, a controlling, uppity prick who was willing to sacrifice the lives of everyone under his employ just to get what he wanted, so they also potentially named it Charles as an insulting 'Take That!' jab at Warren Charles III, with Charles the Choo-Choo being the "Monster/ Frankenstein's Creature" while Warren Charles the Mining Magnate plays the role of "Doctor Frankenstein/ Monster Creator/ Cult Leader." The monstrous tycoon and his equally horrible spidery progeny!

Ya know with all the monster Hunter talk, I kinda wished he continued and finished the full monster Hunter series with if the Hunter talked. My opinion is that the game is good; it may look like something made in the Bethesda Creation Club, but for what it is (a game made by a SINGLE PERSON; all the designs, the music, the gameplay mechanics, the story, etc., from just _one man_ ,which makes me wonder how he got the voice actors for the game, if they're extended friends and family; hell, I wonder if he did some of the voices himself), it's actually a solid gaming experience, quite impressive. Not particularly long (Speedrunners can beat the game in 35-40 minutes; Casual Players can beat the game in about an hour max if they aren't _too_ interested in performing side-missions or getting all the upgrades, all the paintcans, all the lore that's scattered around Arrenearum; Hardcore Completionists put in about an hour and a half, if they know where what they're looking for is), but nonetheless enjoyable because of its unique story, which gives off a Twin Peaks vibes with regard to the diverse and quirky cast of people you meet on your journey to slay Charles. Speaking of the main antagonist, he's also dementedly brilliant, like something out of a Stephen King story or one of them old B-Movie Creature Features, like "Frankenstein vs. the Martians," "Donovan's Brain," "the Killer Shrews," "the Blob," "King Kong," "Night of the Lepus," and so on that I'd see on the old Morgus the Magnificent show or on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Plus, the fact that as per game mechanics he isn't bound to rails in the same way that you are (and that to get some things done you need to voluntarily leave the safety and weapons of your personal engine to explore on foot) is an anxiety and terror inducing concept, especially when you consider how much damage he can do to you in three short hits, and that he can show up anywhere at random, meaning you never know when he's creeping out of the fog until you hear his bellowing smokestack moaning like some kind of malevolent whale or hellhound, so loud, followed by the chuffing cutoff of valve gears and piston reciprocation, the mechanical noises being produced alongside less artificial ones, the skittering of his arachnoidian legs, the evil cackling laughter and roaring of Charles' warped hellish visage. At that point, you're fucked! But man did the guy who make Charles succeed at building a tense frightening atmosphere! 10/10! A++!

@@crystalgemgirl731 Exactly. Am I saying this game is _perfect_ ? No; not by a longshot. Nothing in life can or should ever really aspire to be 'perfect' because once you've hit your peak... that is all. You've made something so great that anything and everything else you do after that point will seem mediocre by comparison and depress you. But, it is DEFINITELY more enjoyable than a lot of the shlock that gets churned out by bigger Triple-A Studios. Lone individuals or small groups of friends working out of their basements have released better quality content than million-dollar industry giants who seemingly don't get their fanbases nor do they seemingly understand why people would get upset when they release a buggy, piss-poor excuse of game, because "It Just Works." The difference, I posit, is that when it comes to these indie developers, especially the more small-scale ones who don't even have the benefit of a studio, they put more of their soul, their blood, sweat, tears, stress, hopes and dreams into their creation; when a Triple-A Studio or Industry Giant (Bethesda, EA, Konami, just to give you a picture of what I'm talking about) makes a game, there isn't as much passion put into it: instead, because they have a time-crunch to work against, because the job is done by a larger number of people with varying degrees of investment into the creation (some actually _wanting_ to make a good game; others, merely wanting to slack off and give the bare minimum effort), and because profit is the primary motive, as opposed to making something that they and other people who play it would enjoy, what they get instead of the glorious game it _could've_ been had they put more of their spirit, their soul, into their creation... they instead only create a monster, a stillborn abomination, hated by the community, and used as fuel to launch criticisms at them for making it. In short; Indie Developers treat their games like their "Babys" whom they help nurture and grow into being outstanding games that, even if they never become popular or make a lot of money, still have more heart than the crap put out by bigger corporations, so out of touch with and unlike the people they make games for, that they get confused initially by the backlash, then turn on their accusers and do shitty, scummy things to them (like all the scams surrounding Fallout 76 just after it's launch)
