Brother i do not know the story you related about "difference of opinion" is the same story mentioned in sharh al qawaid al muthlaa...there it is mentioned the son was an aalim ibn janii...he said his father to sit n say difference between scholars if some one ask you a question when he went for a journey... The story you mentioned in it father was an aalim not son...barakallaahu feek..
