i think they liked to give contestants a bit of a shot before they throw the sink at them, because it builds the drama of the show for them to make it far. they gave george, an italian guy, a sopranos question, and julie an aspiring music artist that absolute nirvana softball of a question.

Really random question I attended a taping of the show back in New York City on October 30th 2001... The weird thing is I can actually remember two of the questions asked on the episode .. and there is a point of the episode where I can actually be seen briefly on TV lol Well my jacket anyway But I haven't been able to find this episode... I can't believe how easy US questions are (or at least were back then). In Russia, you could only win a million roubles back then, which was around $30k, but even pre-thousand roubles questions were harder in Russia than post-$32k questions in the US. Insane!!
